Right off the bat here - it is not cringy at all. It has a few years on its back and you can hear that, but it is a very experimental song that some might not understand and that some might not like because it is part of the process finding your way as an artist. I enjoyed this very much and with a few changes that they would have done with their knowledge nowadays it would be right up there for me in my top ten...

It's easy to have a love-hate relationship with Wolf but no one can deny that this song is hella rough and complex for a rookie group. Exo really handled this song so well. Most junior groups try to avoid this song because of its complexities. I just love the vocals in this song ❤

Fun fact: EXO sang the Wolf demo badly on purpose so SM wouldn't choose it for the album, but it was chosen anyway. You can still find the demo on TH-cam and it's SO FUNNY they kept doing weird little voices and noises 😂😂😂

Dear Pierre, I agree with you. In fact, when making such an assessment, it is necessary to consider the conditions of the period. Although we cannot say that SM company was very generous, it had a considerable capital compared to the companies at that time. Finally, when I first listened to it, the song seemed strange to me because of the mv, until I watched that extraordinary concert video. Seriously, Exo is like a wolf team that can eat all techniques.

Like the some producers said, you have to understand about music to like this song because there are many information in this. This song is part of EXO’s history, the had their first win in music shows with Wolf!

whatever it is l love wolf a lot , we exols have a lot of memories in this era , and the tree of life has protected them carefully. EXO vocals never dissapointed
This was my entrance to EXO. I was looking for a song to inspire a boy heavy class of 11 year old boys to dance and this popped up as I liked Kpop and it had recently been released. The boys loved it. It was not so cringy at the time and EXO came across as skilful , masculine and arrogantly confident. The following year I added Growl, but Wolf remained the favourite with the next group. It started my appreciation of Kai who stood out even in this. His moves are fuller, smoother, more charismatic. I get that the guys preferred other songs they recorded, but this was different and stand out and I think that is what SM wanted for them until they truly made a mark. They were going for impact and this has it.
Everybody has their own voice and opinion on how they reacted or view WOLF….to me personally i love it….it’s one of my best experiments song of EXO….their stage performances has nailed this song much to the core for me….one of my best song ever🥰🥰🥰
Wolf is either you love it or hate it. But no one can top their vocals in this song. It's a very difficult song to sing! 😮😮😮❤❤❤

Vocals super good, sound really good, choreography perfect. I think people don't like lyrics back then, because it's weird lyrics but fun for me. When my first time with the song and mv i don't like it too but not hate and when i saw live performans i remember how much i love it 😂
It might not have been my taste at first but it definitely grew on me and then I saw the live stage and I became a total sucker for it

This song is inspiration for many other junior groups. To think how cruel their training day ( eating one peice of gimbab per person) was you have to appreciate theit had work and their vocal.

The Wolf concert live is a remix version which they added Chen and Baekhyun high notes part, this made the song to a whole new level!

I heard boys really hated this song back in the days and when their concert team decided to put wolf in list they didn't want so tried to remix it and make it a scary song so they'll cancel this one but at end remix was really good ( I'm not sure if it's a real story )

Hello Pierre, thank you for reacting to EXO and as for Wolf, I think it depends a lot on each person's taste but it cannot be denied that EXO did a great job interpreting it on stage and it is so significant for the fandom because with Wolf they won their first award in musical programs and recognition towards the group began without forgetting that the live version is even more spectacular

This MV was released in 2013 when there were the 12 members, on the other hand the concert presentation to which you reacted is a remix of their tour in 2017, and it was performed only by our 9 boys who already know them quite well (the other 3 Chinese members left the group during 2014-2015) that’s why this presentation is not only a little different instrumentally, but also the voices of the boys became more mature and with much more technique and vocal experience. ✨
Pierre is better than me because I can say with my whole honesty that if 10 years ago I saw Wolf before I discovered Growl and MAMA I wouldn't be EXO-L right now ☠️

I actually don't find it cringe because it is from an era ...way back. I really like the song in general, the wolf imagery might not be it for someone but then again the song itself is called wolf and I'm okay with it. As an old eggie, I know it's not a typical song that everyone would love and I get that. First time hearing this song back then, I got overwhelmed with the experimental sound, visuals, choreography, storyline and the VOCALS-for a rookie group?! We knew and heard of EXOs demo for Wolf where they intentionally made it sound like bad because they don't like it as well (but the demo still sounds good fr, I would laugh myself with their effort to make it sounds so bad but turned out actually beautiful😂) that just proves how greatness they had in terms of vocals. I just appreciate that it became their song, yas love-hate relationship exist in Wolf, it has grown on me and I'm sure the other Ls as well. It holds a lot of memories, it is their comeback after a year of hiatus; we had rapper Kai, HunHan pose at the end, the legendary tree of life, and their drama. They do not produce rookie groups like this in new gen of Kpop.
EXO does have a remix ver. of Wolf where they use it on their concerts and it sounds more insane. I love the classic Wolf era because we got the complete branches of tree but yea it's always EXO who gives justice to their own color so I am proud of them. It's 2024, Wolf is still untouchable as a cover.

Honestly I've never found this song or the mv cringy. At first I was suprised with its sound but when the chorus hits the song somehow feels so completee with all of its details. Vocals r insane in this and exos being only rookies and starting with such crazy complex songs as well is iconic. Ofc the mv is a product of its time but the song itself is unique and timeless although now we can also fully appreciate the MVs of when they started till now. It always was interesting as well bc somehow all these mvs r connected to their lore and storyline.

The members didn’t want to do the song, and remember this was their first comeback in a year after MAMA. So they did they tried to sabotage the demo hoping it wouldn’t be picked as the comeback song. Wolf won them their first music show and then the next release was Growl. This week is a big week for EXO solos. Chen has Door on Tuesday and Suho has 1 to 3 on Friday!
