Parabéns PeriscopeFilm, ótima matéria, é muito bom poder rever essas "Grandes Maquinas" do passado, que deixaram saudades para muitos como eu, que gostam de Máquinas Antigas. Obrigado!
Graders have come a long way. I run a Cat 143H and am close to retirement. I have had a full cab my whole career. None of that sitting outside breathing dust crap. Driverless equipment is coming...
I ran all this stuff. yhe last years were on a 140H for the Mohave county road dept.where I maintained 120 miles of desert road with only native material. best all around blade ever bade. that 140M tonka toy won"t move half the dirt that even this old streight frame will!
Knuckle buster - more like wrist breaker. The first thing you learn on those old cat gear drives is to rest your palm on top of the lever - never grab it like a baseball.
Can someone explain me why thoses models (Cat 12E and 14) not working with hydraulics cilinders but than others marks? mechanical system have some advantages, and is better than hydraulics system ?
Hydraulics are better but were expensive back then. Why Caterpillar stayed with Mechanical for so long, I don't know. Austin-Western had hydraulics on road graders in 1939.
It's sad that this is more fun to watch than 95% of the stuff on TV now days.... and i'm not all that old lol
you got that right. the only shows on TV are idiots dancing or perverts galore.
Agreed, with both comments above
Caterpillar não tem igual, maquinário lindo!!!
The knuckel buster be so cool to have one now.
I watch more of this than any rubbish that’s on television
that machine can move some dirt. i have an old number 12 grader and its pretty handy for making ditches and roads. great video
Thanks, Guys! The 14 was and still is a fine machine but the 12 is more suited for smaller projects.

Поработал бы ты на ДЗ-98, запел бы по другому)

I liked the 140h but the 140g was still my favorite.
Very nice cat ad
It's BIG!

Patrola linda, pelo jeito é o começo de uma tecnologia perfeita.

Also gear drive is much better at breaking your wrist than the hydraulic controls
What year did the 14 come out?
How in the world is it able to do any of that with 150hp? Obviously torque and gearing, but still, how?
Automotive horsepower doesn't compare to tractor horsepower because of how slow these engines spin.
It has 150 horsepower but it probably puts out 700 lb feet of torque and does it under 2500 rpm, just like our farm tractors
رائع جدا تاريخ كاتربلر
Roadways NZ Ltd had one of these. Worked on it when I was apprentice mechanic.
140 G is the best grader.
Even then they should have seen the need for a cab.
Allis Chalmers had a big grader but not equal to this!
