I think the only really bad part was the cartoonishly depicted enemies wearing the “traditional” gear. Other than that, it’s just remote villages just like re4 and 8

People call it racist because of the early promo teaser where Chris was alone shooting Africans(mind you attacking Chris) lmao and so that’s why people assumed the game is racist. But it’s ironic because A) its actually part of the plot if you read the files on why Africa was a hot spot for bio weapons, and B) because they’ve done it worse for other regions

And Resident evil being referenced as "racist" is the most ridiculous shit ever. Resident evil was made by a Japanese company, Ada Wong is asian american, Jill Valentine had a japanese mother and a french father, Luis was Spanish, Carlos was indigenous southern american, Tyrell Patrick was african American, Josh Stone was African, Sheva Alomar was african, Parker Luciani was british/itallian, like holy shit I can go on and on. Resident evil is full of diversity. In my opinion the most controversial discussion of an RE5remake should be about whether or not we should keep Co-Op and if it is kept how they can perform it in a way that will complement the new style of game play the current REmakes have formed

I watched the ign video the other day for about 2 minutes and shut that shit off. Re5 is not racist never was racist and as a black man I'm tired of white people telling me what to be outraged over. I love Re5 and want to see it remade when I heard the wesker theme play at the end of separate ways in Re4 remake I got chills I was so excited. I would rather see code Veronica remade first but 5 deserves a remake just like the others.

As an old player who started with RE1 on Playstation, am i truly alone when im saying that RE5 does not need a remake? I always tried to imagine RE1 or Code Veronica on todays RE Engine and im thrilled only by thinking about it.
I had my fun with all parts of the series but thats how i think...

Actually my main complaint of the game back then was it wasn’t scary. At all. Completely went over my head that it was a action game. Resident evil before then had always been scary. Except 5 and 6

The story takes place in Africa with infected Africans. Four had Spanish enemies and didn't hear no complaints.
Also I wish code Veronica was the next in line for the remake treatment but I have alot of love for RE5 so can't wait for the remake

An RE5 remake could be incredibly exciting and intense. Incorporating stealth, more dynamic melee combat, and better coop, this could be a very fun game. Plus, the setting was cool!

As a side note: I personally did like RE Village a lot. I don't think it was a misstep. Imo RE3 Remake was the misstep, not that I think is bad, but it definitively threw out of the window a LOT of potential.

RE5 is still to this day the best co-op experience in gaming. Get a friend to play the game with you and you'll have a blast.

Notice how when they started to go the direction of racism, they showed the trailer and the part where you are up against the more primitive enemies. But when you play in the village, there is ALSO some white infected sprinkled in there.
