I just came back from a two week holiday. I had a plant sitter, but I also provided him with a detailed explanation on how to water my plants and colour coded them. The only plant that died was the strawberry on the balcony because of the intense heat wave we have. I'm not angry as I didn't keep up with the weather here and I told my sitter to just come once a week.
All others are thriving. My orchid even bloomed when I came back ❤

There are some nice tips in here. But there AC not only lowers the temperature, it dehumidifies the air as well which works counterproductive to the intented result. Thanks for your nice videos!

I spend a month on the coast every Summer and I need a plant sitter. Luckily my friend who got me into plants and gardening is the one who comes over once a week to mind my green babies. She knows much more about plants than me. But for weekly holidays I will definitely use your tips so thank you!

I was just thinking about this! I’m trying to grow a Chinese money plant to be cylindrical with all leaves facing out but this requires daily turning.

If you are technically skilled somewhat, you can get a small engine and an arduino to do the job.
But there are probably cheaper and simpler options too - have a look at pet feeding stations, maybe you can make something out of one that has a rotating top to give access to different food portions in regular intervals

I will be away for 40 days during August. I was kinda panicked that I'll leave my plants alone for so long. I bought a bunch of those cheap self watering systems that are just mini taps which you can put on empty plastic bottles where you can calculate and adjust the amount drops they drop per minute and with a formula you can calculate what you need. 1 drop per 48 sec is 1 liter per 10 days etc. But I'm arfraid that the way water will be entering the soil drop by drop will not be ideal and won't spread everywhere but just vertically. What do you think about that? Would the string method be better? The pros of this is at least you count the amount of water you were gonna put but you're purring it really really slowly.

I have a maranta I think I've over watered. I know they like to be moist but the little guy went from having like 15 leaves down to two. I've pruned the roots, refreshed the soil with home made compost made of 5-ish years of leaf litter, with critter litter to sub for per-lite and given her more drainage. She was fertilized not long ago. Since I'm pretty sure I'm over watering her, I gave her a wick with a reservoir after watching this. Yay or nay, other thoughts? Let her drink on her own or pretend I'm a more responsible adult who can adjust the watering schedule myself? lol

Do you age any tips on the monkey cup plant ? I’ve got one which I separated into two both growing upwards fine, I’ve got a pile too to support them but the cups don’t seem successful, I give it river water and keep it moist, and I think give it enough light ( I have grow lights too for use in darker areas) this years growth seems to have new leaves and it looks like there may. & some new cups it seems they never come to much.
