    • @JonDecker
      @JonDecker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cost of the battery is where a lot of that price jump happens. The Pro battery casing would cost around 20k alone and the extended range battery is effectively double that cost.

    • @AnonymousV4
      @AnonymousV4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably a business thing. Have a base config you advertise as a "cheap" $39k truck and snag all the attention. All of the coverage thus far has been of the Lariat models provided by Ford so it raises expectations. The batteries are also in short supply so each Pro sale is a missed opportunity to put it into a more profitable trim. As a result the price is hiked up more. Essentially Pro is a great deal subsidized by the luxe trims.

      The battery range is a huge thing though. In work, time is money and the less time charging the more time earning. Aside from that, trucks are just as much "family" vehicles are they are work vehicles now. So those extra comfort features will appeal to a segment that will never ever tow anything

    • @JonDecker
      @JonDecker ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@courtenayblair2279 in operations, you would choose the time saving option absolutely. Often with a larger battery, you get more range, but because of the extra weight it also takes longer to charge to get that potential extra 100 mi of range. If your company has routes that don't exceed 120 miles one way between charging stops, then the shorter range battery will suffice and take less time to charge.

      @MrChadx1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is no "market adjusted value" on the MSRP/sheet shown in the video. That particular Pro had the extended battery; not the standard battery. The extended battery alone adds $10,000 on top of the Pro base price. The other $7,000 worth of options included the Equipment Group 110A (LED lights with dynamic bending, co-pilot 360, SYNC 4 with 12" screen, power front trunk with power outlets, aluminum wheels, AT tires, etc.), Tow technology package (onboard scales, 360 cameras, backup assist, trailer brake controller, etc.), Pro power onboard, max tow package (additional cooling hardware for battery and motors), and bedliner. All those, or their equivalent, add up to about $7,000 on the ICE F150, too. So in this case, getting what you pay for on the upgrades over the base Pro.

    Trucks look awesome! I know in todays media environment the the pressure to be first is great, but would rather have more detailed content. The PRO or XLT would be my choice but what features are given up with the smaller screen? Is the on board scales available on lower trims? Sometime a rush to be first is not best especially with such a new and technical product. Look forward to more detailed videos.

Their 3500 mile trip to Alaska to 30 hours of charging which is 116 miles per charge. If they ever get they ever get charging down to under 5 minutes then I might consider it. The base model took away hundreds of dollars worth of features for thousands of dollars less. They took away the most petty things. No ladder in the tailgate, no folding center console, an uglier front grill panel, etc… It probably cost more money to make 2 separate manufacturing lines than it would’ve cost to just keep one model. But they do it anyway because they know people are willing to pay thousands more for a marginally better truck.

    I about threw up at $93k for the platinum version. I make over $100k/yr, and the idea of spending nearly that on a truck is insanity.

    This truck is a game changer. I wish i can order one but it’s too late

    I actually like the PRO over the Lariat or Platinum. That huge screen just doesn't look right to me, and neither does the lightbar

    With all the markups they should just stop announcing MSRP.
    Ford: New truck with $8k MSRP!
    Reality at the dealer: +$50k “market adjustment”

    Definitely getting the Base model, I'm not gonna miss much from the Lariat, I'm gonna use it for work anyways. Very impressive Ford, you got a customer.

    the "Base" Pro has the interior of a Platinum or King Ranch with the huge screen and digital cluster.
