What excellent television! So amazing to hear the thought processes of these legends in their own words.

It's 2023 and the sounds of the pieces moving would be an ASMR hit these days. Hypnotic to watch this game play out on older technology.

I love Korchnoi trash talking his opponent with such contempt. It's as if he believes Nunn doesn't deserve to be at the same board as him! Quite a character.

These recordings were done afterward too so he knew he blew it and still trash talking like a wild man lol

Korchnoi would have made a fabulous Bond villain with his accent & scheming. He certainly didn't lack confidence.

Can you imagine hearing Kasparov's thoughts: 'Exterminate!" 'What is this mouse doing?' 'How much time do I have to waste on this amateur?'.

Even in his old age Kortchnoi was able to muster up the strength to insult anyone within an ear shot

@RaniaIsAwesome It didn't fail to get viewers! It was surprisingly popular at the time, considering the vasy majority of viewers would have had no idea what was going on. And! it seems the BBC *are* now planning a new series, but no doubt will try to make it more comprehensible.
