  • Thank you all for 500 subscribers! Sorry for the scuffed audio when I'm walking around in the mob spawner and you can hear my keyboard in the background. I'll use a mic stand next time lol.

    For the buildings, I think they should be varying block palates as well as varying heights. I'm not sure how much I like the amount of space in the alleyways, but thats just me. As for the heights you could sort of stagger them a subtle bit while increasing it gradually as you get closer to where you plan on building the city's center. I think it would look really cool and draw your eye well if you make the buildings in the center taller than the ones on the outside and have a sort of exponential curve in between with maybe some outliers here and there. You could also give each of these townhouse-like buildings a unique roof as well.

      @JPepperL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I was iffy on the spacing but I was basing it off of some real life houses in the area I used to live in. I think it will look a lot better once I build more and add more detail like bushes and what not though. Or at least I hope so lol.

    bro I have an idea/advice, why don't you create 2 other house styles and you can therefore alternate 4 different houses, in my opinion it would be cool, with a village vibes . keep it up, i love your videos :)

    Like this! Started working on a long term beta world myself and I wanna make videos like these in tandum with my game dev. Videos!
    Found you when I first entered the Golden Age community on Reddit and your 1st video popped up in my reccomend, it’s crazy to see how big this community has gotten! Cheers!

      Right on man. I'm gonna be making a video on some older worlds I had here soon. It's good to hear you're working on your own world. Would love to see a tour. I try to search for new beta minecraft uploads every week or two. And yeah it's an awesome little community!

  • @TyrianMusic
    @TyrianMusic ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Yooo was just watching your older World Tour video and saw you just uploaded! Currently playing this version for nostalgia's sake, it was the first version of the game I bought! There's definitely just something about being able to wander around forever without sprint or the worry of the hunger bar that feels better, not to mention how different the world generation was back then.

    • @JPepperL
      @JPepperL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it's an awesome version. I started in b1.3 but it was a little too simple when I tried to back to it. This version strikes a great balance between features and simplicity imo.

      @@JPepperL agreed, wouldn't say i prefer b1.7.3 over modern minecraft but still has its own charm

    I'd like to thank you for initiating an interest in me for the old Minecraft versions. I was too young to play actual Minecraft, so I grew up playing the early versions of the Pocket and Console Editions until I got my first personal computer around the time of release 1.5. The original alphas and betas do have a striking similarity to the early versions of Pocket/Console I played though, and through that I am able to relive my childhood.

    I reckon to continue to try new pallets on the houses. For the side of the houses, that look a bit flat, i usualy add floating garden beds attached to the side of the wall, which is a technique that i enjoy to do.

    The buildings remind me of Brooklyn town houses or brownstones. Usually they have a set of stairs leading up to the front door and they’re butted right up against each other with occasional alleyways. Look up cobble hill Brooklyn. I think that would give you some good inspiration.

  • @RayLuvsCats64
    @RayLuvsCats64 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm not a pro builder but I think putting another pillar on the side of those buildings could make it look less flat, by another pillar i mean in the middle of the side of the buildings, (i''m bad at explaining) Also i'm glad to have subscribed so early can't wait to see your channel grow. I love your content!

    For the houses, you could use bricks as the base and for the decor stone slaps, basically replacing the sandstone in pne of the houses you showed. You can also use slaps as a base material, so you have somehow the look of stone bricks.
    How about wool as a building material? i have seen orange, red or white houses where i live, maybe the could make you city a little more colourful.
    And for the sides, usually this type house shares its walls with its neighbor houses, so you could build them without the gap. Otherwise you could use this gap as an entrance to some kind of
    backyard, maybe make one house smaller so you have some room for a nice garden or just a parking lot.

    Back again! Loved the update video, in order to make the buildings looks less flat, try adding garden beds and pillars. Try adding a little bit more flair around the city, but everything looks like it’d be fun to explore. Now to watch you get to 1000 subscribers!

    A good recommendation for a city in my opinion would be to try different style buildings as well I’m assuming the buildings you built so far you are going for a town house style when the city extends outwards I think it’d be cool to have buildings slightly get bigger just as a nice change but considering blocks are limited maybe try wools

    you definitely need different palettes for the buildings. something like (snow and light grey wool and cobble +normal clay) or (planks and oak logs with perhaps smooth stone)
    + for the mob grinder killing system i found a video that shows a clearer design for spiders aswell which is called "Perfect Mob Grinder (Tutorial) | Minecraft Blasphemy" by Heterodoxy Minecraft

    • @JPepperL
      @JPepperL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the mob grinder video! I'll definitely check that out. I'll probably either experiment with palettes or do a new design altogether for the next buildings soon. Cause I agree it would be too repetitive probably.
