    what I like about this truck is that it uses 1/8 scale buggy parts.
    All the other Sct's from traxxas, losi, AE, HPI are basically 1/10 buggys stretched out to 1/8 scale, which is is kinda stupid really.
    This looks sturdy as hell and also it seems to have a lot of suspension travel, which a lot of trucks lack!

    Hey Vas, amazing review as always!!! I'm wondering is the body mount used on the Senton compatible to the Kraton/Talion... Or are the sock towers between the Senton/Kraton/Talion the same size? I'm wondering on a conversion to an MT-as you said the Kraton is not really an Mt more of a "Muggy"-, and I wonder wich of the 3 would be the right kit to get started with...

    It's a very good looking addition to the Arrma line. You were obviously impressed. Had that crazy grin on your face the whole time. Lol. If you wanted to make it compete with another sct the Traxxas slash ultimate would be a candidate. I'm not sure if you're aware, but Traxxas sell their mamba monster imitation combo as pretty much a bolt on. I've always wanted to bolt in that combo and see her fly!
    Now back to the Senton, I don't own the whole collection like you, just the typhon, but I've been very impressed so far!!!

    Great review. Looks like you are having excitement containment issues, haha!
    Was about to order one of these last week, but decided on something more simplistic so my kids can enjoy the hobby and have something I don't mind letting someone new try out. Plus I was worried about the open pinion and spur gears. Got lots of small rocks around here.

  • @ARA-ys4zx

    What's the ideal battery for this truck? I have in mind to buy a Senton. I know I can install a 6s battery, but I've read that the truck would be ungovernable with a 6s battery. What do you think? Is it better a 4s? Furthermore, there are a lot of batteries at the market, what is the best according to you (brand and model). Thanks in advance ;). Very usefull review btw :D.

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +ARA¡79 Check out Hobby King, that's where I buy my batteries from. If you stick to 4S, the truck will have plenty of speed and you don't really need to go for anything higher. But if you do what to get a bit more out of it, try a 5S pack. I tried one in my Typhon and it seems to be the sweet spot for power and handling.

    Hi, It's actually a great review, both unboxing & product... As far as my concern you and the guy who's doing TheRCNetwork is the finest channels I've ever seen is this category (RC) after URC channel which was belong to Jang.... Great Work and Keep up the good work...
    Anyway Is there any potential of doing a review of HBX Hellhound 1/10 2wd SCT even with a used vehicle wold be fine... and also I 'd definitely buy a Arrma Senton 6s 4WD in few months as my secound SCT.. obviously it easily beats/ challenges Slash, SC10, Bitz and all competition level SCTs without any argue...

  • @neirboca
    @neirboca 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    A 1/10 SCT is bigger than a 1/8 Buggy! And equal do the others which are 1.8. So not surprising the put the same electronics in it! Actually you mentioned that 15 minutes in.. good review!

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      neirboca I have 7 SCTs and 3 buggies and the wheelbase is the same on all of them (give or take a couple of mm). A short course truck looks bigger, but in most cases, the chassis is the same size as a 1/8 scale buggy. Only the A-arms will vary in length, so overall width will be different, but wheel-nut to wheel-nut is basically the same. Hope that makes sense...
      Thanks for watching :)

    • @neirboca
      @neirboca 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aussie RC Playground Yeah, I probably should have said longer! Including body, the Typon is 508mm this is 560mm. I am thinking of getting a Arrma, what do you recommend or like the most so far? You seem to mention the spring settings could be better? Is that easily fixed?

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      neirboca To be honest, I like them all. The Kraton sticks out in my mind as one very fun MT with great handling. The Typhon came out of the box without needing any adjustments, all it needed was tires and the optional pinion fitted and it was go time. The Talion is just a dependable, predictable truggy with a lot of similarities to the Kraton, but it's just more nimble. The Senton will just put a smile on your face the whole time you're driving it. I drove it today for the first time and it's just something else. At its core, it's the Typhon buggy with a SCT body on it, but it's also so much more.
      It's hard to pick just one that's my favourite, they all offer a different experience and are all fun to drive. Here'e my 2 cents, if you like bashing, then the Kraton or the Senton is your best bet. Neither of those have racing in their DNA. If you want to bash but also like to hit the track once in a while, then the Talion is for you. If you like to race but occasionally want to just bash around with friends or do some high speed runs, then the Typhon is best.
      Hope that helps in some way.

  • @Suppermegamonkey
    @Suppermegamonkey 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Arrma seem's to be really on the offensive with all the new vericles they
    are putting out. I run my slash on 4s, and it's on the limit( if not over) what
    the truck can handle. 6s must be insane.

    • @ollilavikka8014
      @ollilavikka8014 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, but the voltage has nothing to do with the power. For example the 1/10 buggys (in race class) uses a 2s lipo only and they have wayyyyy more power than that 6s capable speedo and motor. I see that 6s power system only in a negative point, because you have to pay tree times more cash to get that car running, compared to the standard 2s lipo speedo (standard=2s lipo, senton=6s lipo)

    • @TheAegisClaw
      @TheAegisClaw 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olli Lavikka Nonesense, a 6s system will have way more power. Power is watts, even if you get a 2s ESC that can take 200 amps continuous that's 7.4*200 = 1480 watts. This thing has a 180 amp esc but the calculation is 22.2*180 = 3996 watts. Well over twice the power.

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olli Lavikka I think what you're trying to say is that perhaps "race spec" RCs are more efficient? That to me makes good sense. However, what I think you missed is the power to weight ratio and drive. Maybe you'll get a 2WD super light weight buggy that can be this fast on 2S, but you'll never have the stability or durability that a big SCT like this has.
      Also, your power argument makes no sense at all; how does voltage not equate to more power? I'm sure you've put your tongue on the end of a 9v battery and all you get is a tingle, right? Care to try sticking your tongue in your wall power socket and tell what you feel? Didn't think so. ;) Another example is to use the same 2S power system you're referring to in this SCT and see how it performs. I have my doubts it would last one battery pack before it fails. It just doesn't have the torque to push a big SCT like this around nor would it even bring it up to speed. A much lighter SCT, yes, of course it can be done. There are a heap of SCTs on the market set up for 2 & 3S lipo that work just fine, they're not all capable of 60mph+ though, but they get up & go pretty quick. But a 2S system will hit a "power to weight" ceiling pretty quick, though.
      The point is; if you want to go bigger, faster and have the durability to bash, you'll need more power. Pretty simple, really.

    • @ollilavikka8014
      @ollilavikka8014 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, i agree with you, but the thing is that you are a basher and i`m a racer. For bashers that truck is excelent, but if you want to race in club level (like I do) with that truck, you had to buy a new system for that, because everyone is using 2s lipo, that`s a norm. But I think you should try racing (like URC do), because you can get much more fun out of a RCs, and also the bashing is only a half of a RC car hobby, but that`s just MY opinion :)

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olli Lavikka Yeah, absolutely, 100% agree with you on the racing thought. But I just don't have the time to do it nor do I have a local track I can use when I want or when I can. Not to mention that filming at a track could also be a problem. It's all regulated (to my knowledge) and you have to pay to use them, which is fair enough.
      I know racing is another side of the hobby that I'm yet to explore properly and I'm hoping I can do that some day, but not right now.
      In regards to the truck, the Senton is a basher truck at it's core. It's not designed for racing and if it was, I believe it would be restricted to 4S, which the standard for 1/8 scale systems. However, this is a 1/10 scale truck, so it's in a class all its own and it would need some mods to fit into a 1/10 scale SCT class. At which point you would buy the Team Durango version (DESC10) that's built for racing and is much, much lighter. Then you can install the power system of your choice and go racing.

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      KevinMillard68 Yes, but it's not a Short Course Truck and, lets be honest, it's not a 1/10 scale - it's 1/8 scale. So not really a competitor, if that's what you were implying... ;)

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aussie RC Playground well for what people think 1/10 then no its not 1/10 but it in fact is 1/10 scale size thoe we have our idea what it should be or is is not how it really is its based as a standard on a real car or truck which if you added up 1/10 of a real machine even 1/10 scale rcs are not any where close to 1/10 of a real machine .. its a twister for sure.. id have to do some research but you may be correct as for out of the box short course in a 1/10 scale setup not being 6s out of the box but. i can tell you this tho 6s is over kill in a short course truck with 6s in 1.10 average comparitive size you can hit 60+ mph in 4s on a traxxas mahcine with out changing the motor or esc so 6s to me is just hype to be honest with 6s in this truck id expect it to do 60+ out of the box with 6s and no other changes, how ever id say its a nice looking truck you got there and it seems to be built like a tank..

    • @AussieRCPlayground
      @AussieRCPlayground  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      KevinMillard68 Well, you need to understand that this is essentially the Typhon buggy in a new dress. The wheelbase is the same, this just has shorter A-arms to fit the wheels inside the SCT body. Most SCTs are the same size as 1/8 scale buggies, but most will have smaller diffs, thinner driveshafts and a lot of them weigh half as much as this one does. So even though the Senton is capable of 6S, the weight will slow it down quite a bit. The pay-off is the durability that this truck should have and the stability over rough terrain. Expecting it to go 60mph+ straight out of the box is a unrealistic expectation. Even the XO-1 doesn't go 100mph out of the box, you have to do a few things to it first before that happens. No different here.

    • @KevinMillard68
      @KevinMillard68 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aussie RC Playground auctually there are 2 versions of the X01 but no matter ,,,the ARRMA Senton durbility is the only thing it has going for it to me.. but you can buy cars that for under 15.00 can hit over 60+ mph even on 2s so why bother with 6s and then you have mods just to do the same speeds a lower priced and setup car can do on 2s .. i agree new toys are exciting tho no arguement there at all. ..

    • @fondfarewell2
      @fondfarewell2 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kevys Rc & Music e revo is 8 scale, i dont care what traxxas claims, its way bigger than an 8 scale buggy, and is 8 scale truggy size. There is no real life revo to say it is 1/10th the scale of.
