I'm not giving myself a deadline this year. Usually I try to do all the decorating the first few days of December. It's exhausting and not fun. This year I tucked the decoration boxes in a spare bedroom. When I feel like decorating I go grab a few things and put them up. If it's all up by Christmas then that's great. If not, I'm fine with that. It's fun to add a few touches every day or every couple of days. I'm just letting it evolve as my time and energy permit. I'm enjoying my lazy decorating plan this year!
My deadline is Dec.16th my family flies in to Minnesota from College in Mississippi,with 4 years together boyfriend,and Son and family from Georgia .My outside is all organic pine lacing my black iron fleur de Les fence tops,large iron urns full with fresh boughs and birch branches. Linda you would love my yard ! Mean while after 3.5 weeks I have completely remodeled a bedroom,that has been sitting idle for 18 years! That has collected everything but,money and men .New everything, furniture ,flooring ,wall decor.Thank you Linda for all the special monuments you have shared with us,over the past year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It’s been 4 years since I’ve had my family all home.I am truly blessed this year.

I try to put Christmas up by the 5th. My husband had a horrible abusive childhood. So the twinkle lights and sparkle, bring a little light and joy in to his day.

Well what a happy feeling to know that you are a December girl, as am I. I am so happy for you that Johnny is coming home. I know being the mother of a son the amazing feeling when you get that first hug. I can almost feel myself exhale every time. My only little sadness came when I saw the new dining room color. I know change is good, but I loved having the same color wall in my living room as your red dining room. Looking in from the living room, I missed that cozy , intimate feel of the red. But you are definitely in a season of change. I feel it from the potage, to the room changes, to the color of the walls. And little hints of a possible move . I know its coming , and I know I will be missing the style and home I have associated in my head and heart with you. But life moves on. We just retired in the beautiful west coast redwood area, so there’s an endless surplus of evergreens, manzanita branches and pinecones, which I cut and bring in to decorate. I scrub up my garden gnomes, evergreen topiaries and garden owls, Bring them in, put them here n there, add twinkle lights an WhaLaaaa! Happy Birthday! My deadline was dec 3 rd our oldest son snd his wife came home for an early Christmas…he has to work Christmas… bummer!!! They could only get home for 3 days …it was totally crazy getting ready for them as I too always want things to be just perfect… making happy precious memories…we had so much fun .several of their friends came by to see them .I made up a buffet style table with just dips…hot and cold… cheese balls , crackers, chips, breads, plus a sweet table and a drink table nothing fancy …but everyone was happy and laughing …it was such a fun snd nice time especially with the last two years we’ve all had with Covid …it was so nice for them to get to see some old friends…hope you had a wonderful birthday…I so enjoy your videos and everything that you share with us…God Bless you and I wish you a very Merry Christmas

14.00 It would never have occurred to me to collect the rose hips from arrangements given to me over the years - absolutely brilliant. But then, in all honesty, I don't think I've received roses in the recent years since my love of gardening has surfaced again. So there is that. This year my son, his wife and their daughter, my grand daughter is coming home to Sweden from South Korea on the 23:rd of December. I haven’t seen them in a year. So that is the day everything has to ready. And like you I am soo happy! ❤️

I also use special items that I have and don't save them for only certain celebrations. My grandson once told me, "Thank you Grandma for always making us feel so welcome" one day, when he and his brother and sister were over and we made holiday decorations all day long!! That just warmed my heart hearing him say that!! Also, Linda, it looks like you bought the brass bar cart?? I thought I caught a glimpse of it (17:00) in your dining room. It's a wonderful addition.

My deadline was dec 3 rd our oldest son snd his wife came home for an early Christmas…he has to work Christmas… bummer!!! They could only get home for 3 days …it was totally crazy getting ready for them as I too always want things to be just perfect… making happy precious memories…we had so much fun .several of their friends came by to see them .I made up a buffet style table with just dips…hot and cold… cheese balls , crackers, chips, breads, plus a sweet table and a drink table nothing fancy …but everyone was happy and laughing …it was such a fun snd nice time especially with the last two years we’ve all had with Covid …it was so nice for them to get to see some old friends…hope you had a wonderful birthday…I so enjoy your videos and everything that you share with us…God Bless you and I wish you a very Merry Christmas

14.00 It would never have occurred to me to collect the rose hips from arrangements given to me over the years - absolutely brilliant. But then, in all honesty, I don't think I've received roses in the recent years since my love of gardening has surfaced again. So there is that. Good to know for the future, though - and for inspiration to buy myself some roses, maybe. Thanks!

This year my son, his wife and their daughter, my grand daughter is coming home to Sweden from South Korea on the 23:rd of December. I haven’t seen them in a year. So that is the day everything has to ready. And like you I am soo happy! ❤️

❤️ Our deadline is 23rd of December when we put up the tree. In Germany 🇩🇪 many people have the Christmas tree decorated for Christmas Eve which is the evening for presents and gift giving.
