    Currently riding a 143 specialized power and its giving me a bit of jip, im looking at the tempo in 150(as its the narrowest) do you happen to know how wide the tempo is edge to edge? Im assuming the 150 refers to the sit bone position but not 100% sure. Thx, great video... Very informative as the other commentators have mentioned 👍👍

    Another miraculous saddle. Confy has barely to do with saddles. That's what brands want you to believe. The secret is on your muscles (plexus), physiognomy, flexibility and mobility by one side and correct position of the saddle and crenk lenght.

    Always great content - I stick with Arione (R3 Open - I bought for my new VanRysel EDR AF Centaur + R5 K:Sium on my Orbea Zonal AF 2003 bike). What I prefer on bike are long stems (130 to 150 mm or longer due to relativly short legs) with Maes-Style handlebars (Deda Deep/Anatomic + 3T Tormova). Btw, great video about bar tape - Thank You.

    I like the argo for riding without bibshorts. But when i put my cycling kit on the saddle no longer fits my sitbones. The back area of the argos is too wide imo. Selle Italia slr boost is my main saddle.

    Debossed 👍 Thanks for the lesson! I just got into the Fizik world as my S Works toupe saddle is discontinued. I found that the Antares vento 00 is almost similar, it suits my body well. Thanks for explaining all the different types, as you almost have to have a degree to understand their logic if you’re not familiar with Fizik. I bought mine by eye and was lucky it fits very well.
    I’ve tried a power saddle once and I had to learn how to walk again afterwards hahaha.

    As the Specialized Power is getting more expensive overtime (I'm reluctant to recommend even the Power Comp to others, the very saddle I'm using now when it wasn't as expensive as it is today, unless they're burning a hole in their wallet), I'm considering to get the Argo for my second build or any mid-priced short-nose saddle that fits me.

    Didn't like this saddle that much. It was comfortable, but the bat wing design will rub your legs and make you come forward on the saddle which leads to saddle sores. You also have to tilt it way downward which also leads to sores. It's a good solid aggressive position on the bike though.

    Really useful video, especially the guide on what part to use as the reference for mounting horizontally.
    I have a question regarding widths. I’m buying a Tempo Argo R5 (no local shop option unfortunately). My sit bones are 121mm centre-to-centre but Fizik’s ‘saddle finder’ stubbornly seems to refuse ever suggesting Tempos 🙄 so I’m left uncertain 150 vs 160.
    Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated 🙂

    • @reginaldscot165
      @reginaldscot165  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you.
      Yes because the Tempo is wide and you have very narrow sit bones. So I’d follow the advice for getting a Vento. However I’d also advise on buying the cheapest one (R5) just in case you don’t like it. Better to try before you buy if possible. 👍🏻🙂

    • @smurfybloke
      @smurfybloke 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@reginaldscot165 thank you. That’s interesting as I thought 120-ish was fairly ‘common’ (for want of a better word).
      I’ll have a look at the Vento (for which the Saddle Finder recommends the wider 150mm model, of its 140mm/150mm options).
      Note though that even if I enter 190mm sit bone width (max in the finder) the same width and model saddles are consistently recommended. 150/155 widths dependent on models, but Tempo Argo *never* suggested (eveb of trying dozens of false self-description options)… makes me wonder if the finder is flawed perhaps.

      @reginaldscot165 no, the stress is on the first syllable " phi-".. it is the convention in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Superb and very informative. Thank you. I’m considering an investment in a cut open Fizik. I’m riding an R3 Aliante at the moment with some pressure building up in my never-regions. But before I splash out. Do people drop the nose forward 2 degrees to provide similar relief as to what a cut out provides?

    • @reginaldscot165
      @reginaldscot165  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you kindly!
      Yes I’d try everything first to make your saddle work before buying something else. (Maybe consider a flatter saddle? What’s your flexibility like? The Aliante tends to be for less flexible people?) I drop my saddle 2 degrees tip down. (Use a digital level app on your phone to check) this is because I have an aggressive fit on my bike, I’m low at the front and if my saddle was flat it would press into my “soft bits.” 😂 But I find with most fits I do the majority of people have 1 or 2 or sometimes even 3 degrees of tip down to feel comfortable. Again, it’s very dependent on your overall posture on the bike. I’d recommend experimenting, make sure you test it. If it feels good the true test is a 70km+ test. I find that 70km is about as far as your body can adapt to a bad position before it gives up, if you have no pain by 70km you have a decent fit for most day to day riding. If you go looking for a new saddle try before you buy or buy as cheap as possible (second hand if you can get it) so that you don’t waste money before you know what works for you. When I found my perfect saddle (the Arione) it was like the clouds parted and light from heaven beamed down on me! 😂😇
