  • NO SEW, EASY, QUICK, face mask with LuLaRoe leggings. Everyone has a ton of those buttery soft LuLaRoe leggings laying around!!! Well, you can make 2 masks PLUS a pair of shorts with a pair of leggings.
*UPDATE: Some are saying that it is not recommended to use Polyester or Spandex for face masks....this IS the fabric leggings are made from. Also, please do not use the Swiffer heads, vacuum bags or a/c filters as stated in the video. Use a coffee filter! Please do your own research. I am not a professional.*
Don't have a coffee filter for an extra layer??? Put a paper towel, napkin or the extras from the leggings in the middle!

The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance. Haters???? I've already used coffee filters and it's really hard to BREATH THROUGH the filter. Now, if the mask is loose fitting then the air will come from the sides instead of through the front/coffee filter.

This is such a good idea! One caveat, though: PLEASE DON'T USE A VACUUM CLEANER BAG as your filter. Those are impregnated with some very strong, toxic chemicals and fiberglass that will irritate your lungs, throat, and nasal passages, making them more susceptible to any diseases that target such areas -- like COVID-19, the exact thing we're trying to guard against.
HEPAA filters that are used in HVAC heater/AC units are the best for this, if you have them. Get the ones that are the highest rated, recommended for asthmatics and for homes with lots of smokers and/or pets. They cost about $25-30 each, but you can get a couple dozen masks' worth of filters out of just one of these.

Thank you so much Lisa! They are super comfy. The material is 95% Polyester and 5% Spandex. Some people say that cotton is recommended. To each their own. My whole family uses the leggings masks. I prep them up with the coffee filters inside and keep them by my door. When they get home, they throw out the filter and put the mask in a lingerie bag in the laundry room to be washed.....then, I prep them when they are clean, I keep that cycle going. If you don't have old leggings laying around, I sell leggings and more! You can shop my website at ShopLuLaNut.com and get an extra 20% off with the promo code TH-cam20. Other alternatives can be pipe cleaners, and /or you can cut and fold up your old aluminum baking pans (the cheap disposal ones) into nice little strips--just be sure to fold up any sharp edges, and use either heavy-duty kitchen shears, or throwaway scissors, NOT your good fabrics scissors, please!

Great tutorial! Made these in a flash! Some my say I’m a little TOO paranoid, but I took the extra 4” that I cut off to make shorts, put the coffee filter inside that, and put the whole thing inside the mask...a little extra protection can’t hurt! 😷

Excellent! LOVE it Vegan Chick! Please SHARE me out and SUBSCRIBE (don't forget to hit that notification bell!). 💋 I keep them all ready to go by the door! Then, if anyone goes out, they know they have to take it off, throw the filter out and put the mask in a lingerie bag right away. I wash daily, and constant have them ready to go. One night, I folded the coffee filters in half while I was watching a movie with my son - prep! Stay safe dear!

You are good with your hands.
Now, the world can be a nasty crazy place out there, we need a lot of courage and we need a lot of resilience after that, and we will fall down before we stand up… What really matters is the silence of the night in our conscience, when we are alone. We cannot control what happens but we can use what happens. We have so much reserves of love and support inside us, if we can just remember that in our mind and move on.

Question, are they supposed to be skin tight? I never had a pair. I a bit big so got xlarge. They are comfortable but loose. They fit nicely. I can probably sew the whole inside leg up over to crotch and back down the other side correct? The ab is comfortable. I guess I messed that up

Hi Sue - did you get LuLaRoe ones? The TC2 size? They can be as tight as you want them. Mine fit comfortably - it they are too loose, just make the measurement smaller, so that it will fit smaller across your face.

Thank you Maria, it wasn't MY idea, but I love it too! It's super comfy and QUICK to make. I made several; there are 7 of us here in the house in quarantine. We don't go out much, but when we do, I have them stacked next to the door with filters in place - ready to go! (As soon as anyone gets home, they are instructed to throw out the filter, put the mask in a lingerie bag that I keep near my washer and wash their hands!). I wash the masks daily and prep them for the next outing.

I'm sorry about your high risk Mia! That has to be scary, my husband is too. If you use the leggings, it should stay, and the ear loops are stretchy. If it's too big, just shorten the length of the cut to 10 or 10.5 inches instead of 11.
