If you make a series of V cuts in your angle brackets to look like shark's teeth, they will actually dig apart any waste better than just the flat blade angle iron in mixing the compost up. Some folk use a curved piece of metal, but even that is more effective when the actual blades are notched out as I described.
    Nice video.

I like the plates you fitted around the cut-out. Nice work.

Excellent idea execution! Solid. Now add the material list. A few photos. Than post on Instructables.
We will set-up a couple of these tumblers with reference to your video this spring!
    Very clean work.

I like this a lot but is it big enough for the composted material to reach critical mass and actually heat up enough to do any good? It would seem a barrel at least 4 times this size would be needed.

how do you get the compost out? how do you make sure it doesn't come with new "unprocessed" raw materials?

Very nice tumbler Mr Ed. I have only one question. How heavy is that thing with all that iron ?

good job. i'm not a builder and i'm seeing vids like this and have to ask cause i'm dumb. Why does everyone i see run the center rod all the way through? like the inside 'deflectors', does that help with the mixing? seems like i could just fasten some short pipe onto each end. would that not be stable enough?
    thanks,
    blind and dumb :)

You want an 800 litre tumbler?!! You would need plenty of help to turn it! The one in the video looks like a standard plastic 200 litre drum - look at the graduations on the part when he shows where the hatch goes on 0:43 .
