This is my favorite game of all time. I played through it entirely on Xbox 360. A weird thing that happened is that some of my weapons started gaining unlimited ammo. First it was my grenade launchers for a few days, but it slowly turned to everything
For a 10 year old console the 360 is still pumping out decent visuals when compared to the newer consoles, sure some effects are missing and the textures and physics are toned down but that's to be expected when the console is older then some the kids that are going to be playing the game. I'm sold here for a 360 copy.

I too have an Xbox One S (obvious the newer gen console), but my Xbox 360 sits right under it. I still play a ton of 360 games even in 2021. The games/console can hold their own today if you ask me.

For those of you that remember the 90s, the SNES was only 8 years younger than the original XBOX, but the amount of innovation in technology, gameplay concepts and storytelling was phenomenal. I realize that what we see here is backwards compatibility, but content-wise the games have hardly changed: All the major title franchises (CoD, GTA, Gears, Far Cry, you name it) have basically been releasing the exact same concepts, but in different settings, while maintaining a hefty pricetag for new games. Lack of innovation has infected all aspects of the gaming industry, and "newer" doesn't mean "better", just like music..
Still not close to the Xbox One, and this video is compressed so BOTH versions look better in real life. A TH-cam video in 1080p is basically just 720p upscaled, the Xbox One runs at 1440x1080 with PC ultra grade textures and AA+ while the 360 runs at sub 720p low textures and no AA. But come on, it's a nearly 10 year old console vs a year old console that costs more than twice as much.
I saw this video a long time ago with my Xbox 360, I was upset because I was ""worst"" but when I bought my Xbox one s and my Far cry 4 I realized that it doesn't make any difference I didn't notice that on gameplay hahahaha

Far Cry 4 looks like garbage on the 360. Hell, Far Cry 3 looked better. Makes me think that Ubisoft deliberately made the game ugly so that people would buy the XOne version. By the way, one comparison you missed was when flying the Buzzer. On the 360, the trees directly below you spin around when you fly over them, does the Xbox One version have that?
Face it, games released on last gen aren't going to look better than next gen. It isn't a "lazy port" as you call it. They did what they could with a 10 year old console. The Next Gen has way better specs allowing for a more polished and better rendering game.
Just a few difference ! In textures, far draws like mountains.... Ubisoft use the engine of Far cry 3 for Far cry 4 last gen consoles, and they add a lot of features and textures and some weapons ! Honestly, the differences in this game between the two generations is a lot more subtle than I think it really should be considering the age gap. There is a noticeable difference in texture, lighting, and miscellaneous articles like flags/animated foliage, but it seemed that the 360 was not that far behind in pretty much every instance showed except the monkey. The monkey's poorly textured hair and sharp head angles were pretty starkly outdated compared to the One, but some instances seemed almost identical like the hallways at 1:35 which is NOT okay in my book. It's a good thing for Xbox 360 users because it means that the last-generation won't die off completely anytime soon, but it's a bad thing for the One because it seems to suggest that it isn't vastly superior like people expect a next-generation console to be- especially after almost 10 years have gone by. Think of how many evolutions of Moore's Law is within 10 years. This seems to be the standard for pretty much every dual-gen game I've looked at (which I do a lot, because I've been looking for a reason to finally upgrade) with some exceptions like DRAGON AGE: INQUISITION OH MY GOD THE 360 PORT IS BAD. But nothing has really yet to convince me that the upgrade is worth it rather than simply bothering to buy a high-end gaming PC to surpass the apparent quality of the PS4/Xbox One. I'm not a PC Master-race enthusiast, I've always predominantly gamed on consoles, but from what I understand is that if you're going to bother dumping roughly 400$ into a gaming device then you're already crossing over into feasible gaming PC land. Granted, PC gaming has its own fair share of problems but this dilemma is seriously squelching my eagerness to buy new gen consoles. With consoles under 200$ in the last gen, it was a clear choice for people looking to be thrifty about gaming because 200$ would never buy anything close to a decent gaming PC so a console was a decent way to go. But at roughly $350~ for a console + $50 for a membership, you're at a price tag where you can dump just a little more and build yourself a pretty powerful PC rig (not a pre-built). It won't last ten years worth of yearly AAA titles of course, like the 360 has. But, then again, it could easily last 4+ years depending on what kind of games you prefer/how powerful you choose to build your PC/how well you maintain your PC. 4 years of great gaming and that might be a worthwhile investment as it is. Another point to make is that pretty much every AAA title on the 360 after just a few years was always severely inferior to their PC counterparts, so the lifespan is skewed due to optimization when they are developed for the console. Anyways, I'm hoping that maybe the new gen consoles will come down in price soon ):

Both of the versions are the same except more details obviously LOL. The only thing I care for both versions is that they have the same gameplay , same story and content.
After seeing my friend play this on Xbox One and going back to play my own on Xbox360, Im very dissapointed. The downgrade is huge and the game still struggles to be at a consistent 30fps, even when there isn't much going on screen. I guess cross gen games are still made to be played on next gen. Ah well, I was compelled to get the Xbox One anyway.
This gives BO3 on the old gen consoles a big shit in the face. Farcry 4 looks GREAT on the Xbox 360. Obviously the Xbox one looks better but just compare FC4 on 360 (a game that came out 2014) to BO3 on 360 (a game that came out 2015). This is very saddening.

Hi everyone i need help please I just bougth Far Cry 4 for xbox 360 when i go to the weapons shop and select any weapon the image of the weapon is so low resulution so pixelated why is that? its not like in HD i have 27gb space and 1080p setup. i have seen Far cry 4 xbox 360 on youtube with much better resolution than mine, why is that?
most likely. duuuh. Its most likely the color, contrast settings look diff. than on ur tv/monitor AND dont forget TH-cam compression which makes the game look a bit fuzzier. Thts why comparison vids always look slightly worse than when u actually play in person.
I find it way hard to believe that Xbox 360 is not capable of being brighter. I see alot of dark dull images here. Also during one part the vehicle on the One has stuff on the dashboard and the 360 does not. You can not tell me the 360 cant have that stuff.. But honestly its not all about the graphics, if the game play and story are similar thats all the matters to me. I still think its insane to chage 60 dollars for Xbox One and 60 dollars for 360. The 360 version of games should be 40 dollars.

Eleni georgiou I'll always defend the 360. It doesn't do half bad for a console that was originally released in 2005. Sure there have been some incremental updates since 05, but it's still an old console at heart. Seeing how well it can play these newer games (besides cod bo3) with the tech limitations it has is impressive, imo. Not only that but there is a lot of 360 love out there due to that fact that it is 11 years old with a huge game library, and people obviously are unhappy with the fact that it's at the end of its lifespan. That's probably why there are lots of people defending it. I gotta say though, as much as I like my 360, I really like the graphics and just "new" feel of the One.
After seeing this I really wish they would make Far Cry 2 for the new console. But improve the whole game. Would also love to see Far Cry 3 for the Xbox One.

Actually, he really didn't answer your question at all. He just said yes, which could have been directed towards either one of your initial questions. Back on topic though, XB1 backwards compatibility works on emulation. Even if you have a 360 disc, the disc is basically used as proof that you own the game and the XB1 will still download a digital version of the 360 game. The list of backwards compatible games is limited though, but more are added as they become available. Sadly, right now, FC4 is not one of those games.
I have the Xbox Original/ Xbox 360/ Xbox One/ PlayStation Original/ PS2/ PS3 and I'm a proud owner of every one! I just don't want to have to buy a over powered PC to keep me graphically and performance wise satisfied! It's why I bought a 360 and One so I wouldn't have to worry about buying an expensive part to my PC to keep up with this generations needed specs. BTW I'm not console biased as you can tell ^_^ "Enjoy the games how they are meant to be played and not scared away b/c the graphics look horrible"

Wow at one time I thought that far cry 4 graphics looked great on the 360...but that was before I got my One s. I've already completed fc4, but now I wouldn't mind getting it for the One. It would almost be like a whole new game from a graphics standpoint.
They both run at 30 fps and look almost the same besides the lack of Anti Aliasing and lighting but considering the 360 which is over 10 years old and could still run most of these games on these so called low spec next gen systems Next Gen Consoles are sure powerful.

yeah my concern is that alot of the 8th gen games don't look that much better than the 7th gen games. But Metal gear phantom pain looks pretty good. The order 1886 too, looks like a shitty game but the graphics look like real

After seeing my friend play this on Xbox One and going back to play my own on Xbox360, Im very dissapointed. The downgrade is huge and the game still struggles to be at a consistent 30fps, even when there isn't much going on screen. I guess cross gen games are still made to be played on next gen. Ah well, I was compelled to get the Xbox One anyway.

This gives BO3 on the old gen consoles a big shit in the face. Farcry 4 looks GREAT on the Xbox 360. Obviously the Xbox one looks better but just compare FC4 on 360 (a game that came out 2014) to BO3 on 360 (a game that came out 2015). This is very saddening.

most likely. duuuh. Its most likely the color, contrast settings look diff. than on ur tv/monitor AND dont forget TH-cam compression which makes the game look a bit fuzzier. Thts why comparison vids always look slightly worse than when u actually play in person.

I find it way hard to believe that Xbox 360 is not capable of being brighter. I see alot of dark dull images here. Also during one part the vehicle on the One has stuff on the dashboard and the 360 does not. You can not tell me the 360 cant have that stuff.. But honestly its not all about the graphics, if the game play and story are similar thats all the matters to me. I still think its insane to chage 60 dollars for Xbox One and 60 dollars for 360. The 360 version of games should be 40 dollars.

Eleni georgiou I'll always defend the 360. It doesn't do half bad for a console that was originally released in 2005. Sure there have been some incremental updates since 05, but it's still an old console at heart. Seeing how well it can play these newer games (besides cod bo3) with the tech limitations it has is impressive, imo.
Not only that but there is a lot of 360 love out there due to that fact that it is 11 years old with a huge game library, and people obviously are unhappy with the fact that it's at the end of its lifespan. That's probably why there are lots of people defending it.
I gotta say though, as much as I like my 360, I really like the graphics and just "new" feel of the One.

Actually, he really didn't answer your question at all. He just said yes, which could have been directed towards either one of your initial questions.
Back on topic though, XB1 backwards compatibility works on emulation. Even if you have a 360 disc, the disc is basically used as proof that you own the game and the XB1 will still download a digital version of the 360 game.
The list of backwards compatible games is limited though, but more are added as they become available. Sadly, right now, FC4 is not one of those games.

I have the Xbox Original/ Xbox 360/ Xbox One/ PlayStation Original/ PS2/ PS3 and I'm a proud owner of every one! I just don't want to have to buy a over powered PC to keep me graphically and performance wise satisfied! It's why I bought a 360 and One so I wouldn't have to worry about buying an expensive part to my PC to keep up with this generations needed specs. Wow at one time I thought that far cry 4 graphics looked great on the 360...but that was before I got my One s. I've already completed fc4, but now I wouldn't mind getting it for the One. It would almost be like a whole new game from a graphics standpoint.

well, my mid end gaming pc from 2007 doesnt run far cry 3 or 4 at all, so im really impressed..
They both run at 30 fps and look almost the same besides the lack of Anti Aliasing and lighting but considering the 360 which is over 10 years old and could still run most of these games on these so called low spec next gen systems
