What i really like about kenpachi is that he actually became Captain without knowing his zanpaktou's name, and is on par or even stronger that some Captains. "Zaraki Kenpachi" is an amazing charzcter

He is my favourite. Well, first when i saw him introduced in the series, i thought he wont have a shikai or bankai, just a sword and his high spiritual energy. Ichigo winning the fight did make sense because ichigo also had sealed power which manifested during almost every fight he was in during the soulsociety arc. I'd say ichigo is actually stronger than kenpachi. Kenpachi is just scarier and more willing to kill than ichigo would.

I find that Kenpachi was cooler before his sword turned into a cleaver, his gimmick was that he just used raw power instead of his zanpakuto and made a mockery of others who spent decades training with their zanpakuto power.
Throughout all of Bleach's series canonically he has killed Nnoitra, slain Yammy released form (with the help of byakuya), defeated Bankai Tosen , Sajin, almost killed fake Shikai Ichigo, and Sternritter Bernice, Jerome and Loyd.

A few things to note about Kenpachi were missed. There is entire novel which would get a movie adaptation (was cancelled because bleach wasn't doing so well at the time). It had to do with the "Kenpachi" title and previous Kenpachis. Each Kenpachi was at the very least Royal Guard level of power with 1 of them, Azashiro Kenpachi, being even higher than that still. Kenpachi is a transcendent being like Aizen, Azashiro and Ichigo, hence the reason why his power can't be felt by people at times. Also his Shikai had a secondary property which adjusted his reaitsu in order for it to be constantly on par with his enemies in order for him to fight longer. His shikai has 3 parts (You remeber the monsters from Yachirus shikai?). Each one of them represented a power and he has both hollow and shinigami powers into him. His reaitsu was so strong as to be described a bottomless pit. Aizens Complete Hypnosis doesn't work on Zaraki, along with many "hax" abilities. Kubo wanted to show a lot more about Kenpachi in the final arc because he was one of the 3 most important shinigami.
Q: What the hell is he? Before he picked up his first sword he was powerful. He doesn’t train or even try to grow stronger. He fought with the old Kenpachi and even though he felt like he may die. He gave her a handicap. If the Squad Captains are as high up on the Ladder of Power as the Soul Society claim they are. And Kenpachi seal off nearly all of his power like 80%. And still place in the top 3 Squad Captains. Without real training, techniques, real knowledge, or coming from a family of Powerful Soul Reapers. In a nutshell. His power goes far beyond everyone else in the Soul Society. And that goes for both friend and foe alike!

What if yachiru is the orginal zanpakuto before Kenpachi's imprint. The zanpakuto and skills she uses are the originals where the ones Kenpachi uses are his own.
