    this is amazing!!! sounds pretty much exactly like the original drum track! you even nailed the way ringo tends to swing his body while he's playing!

    I'm deeply astonished and impressed with your video and your work. Wow! What a class masterclass! The attention to detail you have put in every aspect of the video is praiseworthy. It's all been so instructive and pleasing to watch!
    And what a fabulous vintage Premier kit! I love the mellow, high pitched, "toy drum kit" sound it has, specially the 12" tom, which sounds just like Ringo's in all the songs he recorded with his Premier kit!!!
    As a drummer and a Ringo impersonator that I am I couldn't but say thank you very much for the video and very good job! It's great to come across videos like this.
    This video deserves many, many, many views.

      Ramon Starr Thanks so much for your comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it.I've seen your videos so coming from you its even more of a compliment. I might do a few more videos when I get the time on the Premier Set. Its certainly rewarding to get closer and closer to the early Ringo sound. It reveals some of the mystery which is fairly hidden in those basic recording techniques. Thanks very much for the comments once again.

    excellent! you did a fantastic job of capturing Ringo's swing (and his ambidexterity). deceptively hard!

      @MrDrummonkey  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Harry Joiner Thanks Harry. Yes you are right. I've done it exactly the same way as Ringo did it. Or at least how I think he did it. I got the sticking the same way that a lefty would find natural and the fills makes sense.then. When you try it out ...it is as you say...deceptively hard. Thanks for noticing! Thanks for the comment.

      BeatleEd1903 É sexta-feira 13 de fevereiro de 2015. Tem sido 52 anos Os Beatles gravaram Please Please Me. Eu tenho um tambor igual definido para Ringo. Deve ser mais interessante. Premier 1961-1962. Mahogany Duroplastic. 20x14 12x8 16x16 14x4. Ele a usou para os primeiros meses The Beatles. Ele a usou até "She Loves You". Ele não usá-lo sobre isso. O que címbalos ele usou? Eu estou usando estes. Super Zyn 15 Hi Hats, 20 Ajax (O sino de prato é uma forma incomum. Parece muito distintivo), 18 Super Zyn. É um palpite. Címbalos velhos são inconsistentes. E sobre as peles de bateria? Ele realmente faz a diferença para o som. Eu acho que ele usavam peles de vitela na bateria nas primeiras gravações. A frente do bumbo diz "Ringo Starr". Isso é definitivamente feito de pele de bezerro. Ele poderia ter mudado-los no tempo. Eu acho que eles são de plástico para "From Me To You". Premier Everplay. Provavelmente não Remo. Premier tem um tamanho específico. 12 é 11 7/8 e 16 é 3/8. Um é um pouco menos do que 12. Um deles é um pouco mais do que 16. A 20 e 14 são um tamanho moderno. Eu estou usando o tipo de plástico. 1960s Premier Everplay. Eles são velhos. Existe um problema. O tipo de plástico e do tipo de pele de bezerro a mesma aparência em fotografias. É muito difícil dizer a diferença. O tipo de plástico foram feitos para olhar como a pele de bezerro. A cor não é branca. Eu estou indo para gravar "Twist and Shout".É óbvio, mas não é fácil. Ele é descontraído, mas também se movendo. É o seu melhor desempenho. Há muitas coisas boas sobre ele. "Boys" é um grande desempenho. Ele está cantando ao mesmo tempo. "Twist and Shout" foi gravado no final da sessão. Você pode ouvir o alívio e o cansaço. Ele usa sua mão esquerda muito. É muito típico de Ringo. É a primeira vez que ouvir o que ele pode fazer bem. Podemos captar a energia e sentir? Vamos tentar. Nós não estamos em "Abbey Road". Ele não vai soar exatamente o mesmo. Estamos usando apenas um microfone. Não será o mesmo som. Mas será quase o mesmo som . É um U87 Neumann. Vamos tentar. Vamos ver o que acontece.

    Wow man, just great !! Where are you from ? (England I guess !!)....You nailed it down !! Really !!...So cool to see a young musician that respects OLD music....I just love Ringo, he was so underated for so many years....I , myself, used to be in a big production in Montréal, Canada, the show was called YESTERDAY LES BEATLES (yes, that's right, LES beatles, gotta have a little french in there ). We were on tour and everything....the show lasted 5 years...there's a few videos of us on you tubebut there's more on our Facebook page (type YESTERDAY LES BEATLES )....the good old days.....I'm still a musician (will always be !!).....Would be nice to record together......who knows, it's a small world !!!.....Cheers !! ( Oh by the way, Iwas the John Lennon !! )

    Fantastic! Thanks for showing just the drumming. Which most likely you've provided a drum track for musicians to use. Keep drumming!! There is another drummer on You Tube who covers Ringo drumming authentically using a 60s Blue Oyster Pearl kit, his channel is: Brad Starr

    • @MrDrummonkey
      @MrDrummonkey  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +rhythmantic - Sal D'Amato Hi Sal, Again! Yes I provided the drum track only for 2 reasons really. One is to show what the sound is like completely out of the mix and yes so that other musicians can play around with it. I'm trying to achieve a sound that sounds so close that it just seems like the drums have been pushed up in the mix. Its a hell of an ambition I know but I think this was a good start.!! Thanks again for you contribution.I appreciate it. Cheers Gordon

    performance was perfect the rack tom could have been tuned a little lower

    • @MrDrummonkey
      @MrDrummonkey  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Frank Dasaro Hi Frank, Thanks for your comment. I thought the rack could be tuned a little lower. I'm pretty sure its a calf skin. I had a go at recording From Me to You with a calf skin on that tom. Its ok but maybe not high enough that time. I'm going to continue to try and get the sound right. Feel free to comment on what you think.

    This has got a bit of everything, really, but I don't think it's Ringo's best performance.
    What's his best? Can't say, but I've always liked his playing on She Said She Said, because of the odd time signature changes.
