She's so cool, I love how she laughs nervously after every riff.
I was there at Steve's concert in Adelaide, heard Orianthi, was like "wow", and then I found out I worked with her dad, who got me a personally signed first CD, which I still have.
this girl is just awesome, I especially love her piece with steve vai, wow! keep on making great music
I can understand why some people find Orianthi bland and boring, but being a performer is not just about being musically technical, but also being likable and having a great presentation. Say what you want, but Orianthi is VERY likable and kicks ass on the guitar. She brings the heat when she performs and is confident about it. MJ did not make a mistake in choosing her for his last tour.

I certainly expected better, especially for someone who's played for over 20 years. This is the easiest lesson on TH-cam - it's just a few chords and some lead guitar in Em pentatonic. By adding reverb and delay, her solos sound twice as fast. Tuning down a half or a full step allows for bigger bends. Young guitarists, to get this tone, crank up the gain and add some delay and reverb. Practice your pentatonic scale pattern for leads. In two weeks you will be able to smoke this. "Tapping" is very simple. Simply hit the fretted note with your right hand (use a little force), bend and release with a slight pull on the string.
While I do agree, I will say at the very least, she isn't stating that she is an amazing guitar player.

It's similar to Chris Cornell. He's not a good guitarist, but he doesn't claim to be. He hasn't even played a solo that I can remember. She's mainly a singer.

I live in Adelaide and the last time I saw Steve Vai in concert he spoke about this 15 year old upstart female guitarist that absolutely blew his mind when she start playing her axe. That's not a bad endorsement coming from him.

Is it even Orianthi's fault when all the awesomely famous, well known international artist, whom we all know, has unique sense in music, also well known for their Goddess talent and skills and they were none other than Santana and Michael Jackson, decided to pick Orianthi up and gave her chance to show her passion and talent? Is it even her fault when you guys hated her? Did she point a gun to their head and say 'Pick me or I'll kill you'
Or is it Santana's and Michael's fault? Is it Alice cooper's fault for choosing her as their guitarist? Do you think they would choose her just because she's blonde, she's a female, and she can play basic stuff? Do you think so?

Sooo this is the first song I'm gonna learn (cus its my favorite) I writed some but they still aint perfect cus I am begginer and I am actually learning from an website (crifaclub that is an brazilia site cus I am brazilian and I live here and they teach very well on vids lol) but as an begginer, can someone tell me what is Tune down from D, F, G... so she has no creativity cuz she played about 2secs of a part in sweet child o mine??.....it doesn't sound like the way slash does it she has more vibrato and power in the bend and she doesn't repeat it like slash does chill guys.. they both are playin in the pentatonic scale its not that hard to have a part that sounds similar to something else....

Yes, she's cute and technically she plays well... but isn't music about more than playing a series of notes fast ? Orianthi made her way into MJ's band by copying Eddie Van Halen's 'Eruption' solo... as in COPYING. She's never brought anything inspired or original to the table so far. I seriously doubt that she will.

I know several guitarist that are awesome that have never made it simple because they didn't have the backing from a stable family.I'm included in that list!
@CiviC092 well technically slash got that sound for the solo from a few journey songs since thats where it seems the notes that he played for the solo originated.
