My mom was 💯 percent Norwegian. She would never let me in the kitchen with her, but I watched, and when she moved out of state, I started learning on my own. I taught my boys and am starting my son's god daughter making lefse on Saturday. She is 20 months old, so we'll keep it simple. I love the pot lid idea! Thank you.
Oh my gosh! At first, I thought “Woah! That lefse is Huge!”, but then I was completely blown away. I never thought to cutout perfect circles from a larger piece of dough, instead of having them all funny shapes! Thank you for sharing! 💜
Thanks for this! That tip about the ear lobe is good , I've been trying to figure out how to make lefse and little insights like that are especially helpful.
fancy chefs: make sure the texture is exactly right, theres not really an indication how to know its okay but youll know after a few times. proper chef granny: just pinch your earlobe and the dough, that should match and itll be fine. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

That is definitely NOT lefse. That is Lompe or potetkake = potato cakes. Lefse is fine baking. Every area in Norway has special tradition and there many different kinds and recipes. Lefse is usually made for special occasions and festivities. Lompe or potetkake is certainly not one of the.

Love how you do it with the lid what a great IDEA!!!
Thank you for posting this! A little like being in the kitchen with my Grandma. I’ll be making lefse alone this year for my boys. Merry Christmas
Reminds me of Christmas in Montana with Grandma and the girls working so hard to make this wonderful treat. 😊

So cool. My great grandma was 100% Norwegian and im practicing Lefse for my mother.
👍 cool pot lid idea! Thanks for the tip 🥰😘
Lefse season is my favorite time of the year! I've recently learned the best way to handle the potatoes is by baking - not boiling!

Tynnlefser og lomper er nesten helt like.
