Fresh out of HS in 1976, as his Alive album is all over radio, I joined a popular, working cover band from west PA, playing a mix of dance, pop and rock covers. The lead guitarist, Steve Schuffert (very talented, do a search), was a huge Humble Pie, Frampton fan, so we played a number of tracks, including Do You Feel Like We Do, complete with talkbox solo. It was often the night's highlight.

Rockin' The Filmore is a masterpiece and will forever be my favorite live album. I remember being a young lad playing it and staring at all the cool pictures in the album feeling like I was there. It was a special part of my musical journey growing up. I remember when I first heard "I don't need no doctor" blasting out of my brothers room the first time thinking how cool whoever it was I was hearing was and when I got to hear the rest of it wow. Four Day Creep, I'm Ready, Stone Cold Fever ect love it. Steve and Peter's guitar work, Steve Peter and Greg all switching off lead vocals on "I'm Ready" just love it such a great album. Only problem for me after that being my introduction to the band was after that none of the studio albums could ever compare to it for me. I later got the first album Rock On and Smokin' but nothing studio could ever compare to the power and energy of "Filmore" !

Back in the early '80s, friends of mine were producing a Framptom music video, and asked me if I wanted to PA on it. I've been a fan since the Comes Alive album so of course!
Any production is more "hurry up and wait" than actual shooting, and part of my gig was to go fetch Peter from his dressing room when it was time for another take.
He definitely is a genuinely nice person, but none the less, everyone on the entire set was "Mr. Framptom" this and "Mr Frampton" that... as formal as could be.
A few hours into the shoot, I pop into the dressing room and Peter says, "Lets have a little fun with them!" As I carried his guitar back onto the sound stage, I loudly lectured him about "Time is money" and "When it's time for a take, YOU need to be on stage!!
The whole set gasped in horror, bleating apologetic pleas of "Oh, Mr. Frampton, take all the time you NEED." "We're SO terribly sorry!" ...Peter let them burn a moment, then burst out laughing!! (The shoot lightened up a bit after that!)
Also, sampling synthesizers were new, back then, and the keyboard player sampled Peter's guitar, then teased him between takes, playing back his licks at him.

You can argue that the song defined the year 1976.

I'll be seeing him in concert TOMORROW!!! Will he still be able to tour in 2 years for the 50th anniversary of FCA?? "Frampton's Still Alive"? "Frampton Barely Alive"?

0:18 - Saw Frampton's Camel open for SLADE at Majestic Theatre in Dallas June of 1973. GREAT show in front of maybe 1500 kids...Dude performed at least two or three songs of that album LIVE for the next 40 years..."Lines on My Face" was the best song to me in his entire career...

Back when "Frampton Comes Alive" came out, I was 15/16 and in high school. I wished I had hair that looked like Frampton's.
Now that I'm 63, I finally got my wish. Other than the color, my hair looks like Frampton's.

The live version was superior to the studio version on Frampton's camel. It's a Plain Shame, is another great song. He's a legend.

Can't believe Pete doesn't give me song writing credits on this. I will relate the story later. 😁

Does the Gibson Frampton edition Les Paul copy the features of Peter’s guitar ?
