Absolute tosh. Yes the fast vauxhalls (astra H Vxr Vectra C VXR) do torque steer a bit and will understeer if you really push them but both have limited slip diffs and will put the power down if you dont floor the throttle in corners. What they did here was disconnected the ESP system (was proven somewhere) and traction control just to make it look bad. Having driven one I can say they arent that bad. The mondeo obviously has the better chassis but it too will understeer if you push it due to the sheer weight of the engine up front and being front wheel drive. The only reason more modern front wheel drive cars with 300bhp going through them stay on the road is all down to the computer systems designed to keep them on the road. You turn the system off on a 2022 fwd hot hatch and you'll get the same result seen here.
Former 07' Vectra owner - understeering whore, the car is. You had to time your corners just to ensure you didn't understeer. I omce lightly tapped the throttle in a roundabout and almost flew out of it.
I think you could compare this to the Pontiac G6 with the 3.9L V6 and the 6 speed manual. Edit: oh yeah, if you have an Epsilon platform (like this car, or the G6 which was an extended version of the Epsilon platform) you better be ready for some serious understeer unless you want to go all out and completely redesign the entire car
@@johnny6476 You can have the limiter removed so it can achieve it's natural top speed of around 200mph. I remember Jeremy testing the M5 shortly before this and he was gloating it was one of the fastest road cars he's ever driven....I'm guessing that one wasn't limited 😏

I bloody love my vectra
Low standards?
I love how Jeremy just makes up his own facts to make everything sound sensational. In what universe is a Vectra quicker than an M5? 🤣
Cause the M5 is limited to 155mph, The vectra does 161 mph. So top end it is faster.
