So it has taken them 8 years to come that far?? Are there 6 workers for the entire ship? Unbelievably slow progression. I wonder how far they’ve come since this video was released??
@William Young, they don’t even need to dock it in the seaport since there would be plenty of water from the tears of the jealous Americans whose country can’t even fill potholes in the streets never mind building a replica of a famous ship for the fun of it!
Well, they're building it like they mean it! For over a century that ship has been the greatest metaphor for the old saying "the bigger they are, the harder they fall." Not a bad message to deliver in modern China. Naturally, a total copy of a western historic "achievement" (and I use that word advisedly) but then again, that's very 'modern China' too.

2-5 million people a year. That seems a little optimistic. Some uk and usa based top attractions don't hit 2 million. Also how long would it last with so much foot fall? I'm not suggesting it won't be popular but even 1 million visitors a year is 2739 a day, every day.
155 million dollars seems a bit low for such a big project and obviously it won't be an exact replica cosmetically maybe but it wouldn't be cost effective or environmentally friendly to run four massive coal powered engines 365 days a year they wouldn't make a profit for as long as the real titanics been at the bottom of the Atlantic.

I don’t really trust it, they’re known for being cheap at any cost
@@BlackGirlLovesAnime6 The original Titanic was the same, they cut corners and it was rushed. One cause of it sinking was that they used cheap wrought iron rivets instead of steel, as they were easier to hammer in...these popped loose upon impact though and the seams opened up like zippers.
@Mel F It is true mate the Harland and Woolff order books for components were checked and it was found that the rivets purchased were a class lower than they should have been. Why nobody knows.
“Touching stories” as the boat sinks. Ah so relaxing
Yes China is pro in building/developing replicas...
Is this supposed to be some kind of passive bashing?

As if China is the only Asian country that makes replicas. How do you think the Japanese and Korean economies took off, post-WWII? By making cheaper replicas of western products. Made in Japan/Korea once had the same stigma as Made in China has had.

Titanic was a beautiful ship and I’m so glad her legacy is still remembered and being replicated. People may say that this project is disrespectful and I understand that. Im pretty upset at the idea of it being in a theme park. I believe it should be in Belfast. But I still see it as the ultimate memorial to remember the 1,496 lives lost and to the men who built her, even if it’s just going to be permanently docked.
China is amazing. They have the best engineering marvels in the world. A lot of respect and love
That’s right! China builds, the US destroys!
If I had the financial ability, I would definitely stay there to re-live and honor the times and event.
I have a feeling that they’ll have different prices for third class cabins, second class and first class. It’ll be like a hotel. But probably also tickets just to visit and walk around for a few hours. I love this idea too!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is all about the Benjamins.
It doesn’t really show respect to those people lol it’s kinda disrespectful but I’d selfishly want to get on the ship
I hope this gets finished, I kept hearing that this project was left to rust, hopefully it's not true
They were so close to finishing it too. Hopefully they still do.
It will be interesting to see how popular this attraction will be. Big gamble.
Oh you have no idea trust me , there a billions of titanic fanatics that are obsessed with the famous ship. People from all over the world will probably travel to china just for that and not anything else.
I used to be skeptical of China , but now , what I’ve learned is , they get things done and not waste time ✅
It only took 26 months to build the real one over 100 years ago and this one doesn't even have engines.
The state of the ship has been like this since 2018, its almost abandoned.
I think this is a nice gesture. I had family on the real one.
China playing on creative mode
A recent photo was shared of the project and there's been absolutely no progress in a long time. What's there in this video is basically what's there now, but presently covered entirely in rust.
Surprised it took this long for someone to do a life size replica as an exhibit. Looking forward to seeing its end result!
there were actually 8 chinese people on the titanic. they were part of the crew and was treated horribly due to racism. they had less income than the other crew members, and when 6 of the men survived, the news said lies about how them because they were chinese
how them what?
Felt bad for them 🥺
Thanks for the info. I never about it, and I found out that two of the survivors have the same last name as me.

A replica of the Titanic built with Chinese steel; What could go wrong?
The Six Chinese guys in Titanic, but history ignored it.
History remember it right now......due to the Rise of China.
1500 people died on Titanic, history has ignored most of them.
They need to featured prominently in this attraction.
if it is about the six person, then this whole idea make sense.
The only person I heard of was the Japanese guy who pretended to be a woman to get on a lifeboat.
Titanic was riveted together not welded together!
If Harland & Wolff had taken this long to build each of the three Olympic class liners it might have bankrupted the White Star line.
Labor was cheap back then, so expedited construction schedules were not such a high priority as today.
I will 1000% save up for a trip to see it. I think it will be an amazing homage to such a significant event in history. A way to help people remember the legacy for a long time to come.
Why china??? Is it because it’s cheaper or because they have business intrest in the ship... i mean it’s full on a western tragedy so why not build it in Europe from where it was build in the first place. Asia... it feels kinda wierd to me... anyone Else feel the same way?
The way the chinese build quality is, i'm pretty confident they'll still manage to sink that somehow.

A really interesting project. I was born in Nova Scotia in 1956 and my grandmother had a large picture of the Titanic on her livingroom wall that listed some information about the ship.
I would visit. Following the movie there were numerous stories of building a replica. Not surprising it has taken Chinese engineering and entrepreneurs to finally make it happen.
"The Project started in 2014". It's 2021 now and still unfinished. Titanic II sank slower than the first Titanic.
R Troyer it only took 4 years to build the real Titanic -but Belfast shipbuilders were grafters so not surprising they were quicker
Well, it should be safe from icebergs.
Imagine one of these replicas having an accident and sinking, wow would that bring out some conspiracy theories
It's not an sctual ship. It is a building shaped like a ship. This time, we are garunteed it won't sink because it's already on the ground. Unless a sinkhole opens up and swallows it up.
@@MaketoMake815 i don't think people realize its just a theme park attraction. They'll probably use it as a hotel/exibit. That's not going to be in water probably Unless they fill that dry dock area with water to simulate real water. Id be surprised if they go ahead and do all that.
