Hi! Are you still using Easy Peasy reading? I tried it when my daughter was in 1st grade. It was just too difficult. However, she’s now in grade 3 and tested into level 1 at 8 years old. I strayed away from it years ago because I thought it was just too difficult. Now I’m finding out it’s grade levels ahead! 😊

Yes, we are still using them.🥰
      Their reading is definitely advanced.😊

I’m glad you mentioned this. I was thinking the same thing for my 3rd grader. Seems like a very advanced level for 1st grade. He is on All About Reading level 3 and this seems on par with that. Definitely thankful for this flip through so I can see which LA set to order.

I’ve used EP for 7 years with 5 kids and I wait on kindergarten which helps so they are down a level starting off the bat. That seems to fix things being too advanced too fast or I read the reading to them (or let them listen to the audio) and they read to me more of the McGuffys that are free online or book of their choice. That seems to help huge.

is your daughter reading the reader? My son will be almost 6 soon, and we are starting 1st grade but when we took the placement test it said the ep 1st reader is a grade 3 reading level 😵‍💫

Lol! EPs reading is very advanced!😂
We are still going through the Learn to Read program. Hopefully we’ll be done by the end of the summer. Right now I’m just using the Reader as a “read a loud.”

@@LovedbyJesus23 wow we are halfway done with all about reading level 2. Maybe by the time he is done he will be reading good enough to start with EP. 🙏

@@trainupachildhomeschooling6493 Maybe. Just go at his pace. You can always do the reader as a read aloud or something you read together. I’ve always heard great thing about All About Reading, so I’m sure he’ll be a great reader. I’m not sure how the AAR levels compare though. If you search in the Learn to Read & Level 1 FB groups, there are a lot of people who share their experience with the reading. In the search for the group, just put in the word reader & a lot of helpful advice comes up.🥰

I have been on a reading curriculum roller coaster. I think I let grade levels influence me too much. My daughter by age is going into the 4th grade. However, looking at the easy peasy readers, she definitely needs to start with level two reafing and vocabulary. I think I’ll use the level 4 reading as a read aloud to her. When I look up the books used in level 2 on Amazon, it says reading level grades 3-7. So I think she’s right on target!

@@courtneysimon444 Homeschooling is so interesting with Levels vs. Grade.😊 At the end of the Learn to Read program, it’s at 2nd grade or so. Don’t feel bad if your 4th grader is at 2nd Level in reading because that’s actually the right level😅 EP has a placement test you can have your daughter take, to see which level would be better.
You can also use the reader as a shared reader. That’s where you read a paragraph or so & you daughter reads the other paragraph. Or if you do the online too, your daughter can listen to some of the readings & maybe follow along. I’m not sure how much of a sample you can see on Amazon but EP has samples on their website. And you can look at the full online course.
      Good Luck!🥰
