An organization like the PDC should have been doing the testing themselves so players couldn't bring fake tests. I bet there were others that did this.
I agree with the first sentiment. A fine would've made no sense for a lad that young. The father who allegedly encouraged him to do this should be seriously ashamed that he put his son in this position
Nice video Matt! But one question: Does playing in the Q-School once really mean you cant bet on anything dart related ever again in your life? I've never put a bet on darts in my life, just curious because it seems a little harsh to me :)
The Bradley incident led to other problems outside the PDC too. Players got removed from the super series because of it also. Glad he got the ban. He will learn from it and hopefully not do anything like that again
Very interesting video this 👍 I love darts and I have no clue about the backgoings with the pro darts life. Your videos paint a clear picture on the ongoings.
Have you ever known anyone to be fined for excessive farting, especially on the oche. For some bizarre reason, I get problems with gas when playing and quite often drop stinkers on the oche which becomes quite annoying for my opponents who threaten to throw me out of the venue
We played away to another pub team a few years ago and one of their players was absolutely honking and i mean smelt him before you seen him honking and a few of our guys were not happy,so their captain nipped out and came back with a couple of cans of deodorant and told they guy to spray himself,it honestly didn't make much difference but we did play the game and still won.
Just had a look at the dra website there and the hearings. People's names brought up for swearing on TV yet Martjin "it's shit" kleermaker doesn't appear...hmmmm
Coach Prime doesn't mention it specifically, but smelling good is implied: You look good, you feel good You feel good, you play good You play good, they pay good
@Matthew Edgar how do they know if the player has bet on darts, surely they don't check every player that bets on darts and then check if they've played q-school
I'd imagine that the DRA submits a list of all entrants to the integrity unit. They will run those names against all known betting account holders and if they get a match on the name they will check to see if it is the correct person. They can then look at the bets that person has made. It's not difficult to check and if bookmakers can detect suspicious betting patterns on things like whether the next ball bowled in a cricket match is a no-ball or a wide then finding out whose betting on Q school matches is easy enough.
I have never even noticed 'covid' other than online. No one I know ever caught it, I never got jabbed, never wore a mask, just never noticed it other than in print.
3.7 Players must comply with the entry terms and conditions of each Darts Event in which they have entered. The managers aren't entering the event hence they can't break rule 3.7. They break 3.1 and threaten to bring the sport into disrepute. The players do both.
Ah, no. It's all on Bradley. He knew he was positive and he knew the consequence of that so he got someone to provide him a no-indicator test. He then ran his mouth. Got what he deserved. And it's quite easy to figure out the likely source of your infection. I was a round table meeting with 20 people in december 2023, one woman told us her husband was at home with covid, she didn't test because she felt. I was wearing a mask because I'm protecting someone, lo and behold, 5 days later, 3 people in that meeting all felt like shit and tested positive. I didn't.
@@eoinkeeley8100 Very amusing, probably as serious as you can get, he could have killed someone. Had he been older ie 21+ I would have said it should be a ten year up to lifetime ban.
Did MVG literally say that some players played with covid when he tested positive about 3 years ago in the worlds ? I'm not 100% sure but think he did say that, someone maybe be able to correct me,how he knew if true, god only knows.
Never mind missing tournaments, people could have lost their lives, family members of other players, officials etc. I'd have banned him & anyone associated with him for life.
Could have been a lot harsher. Making people ill with what, at the time could be potentially life threatening illness could deserve a lifetime ban and I think the reason he didn't get that was because of his age. Just because others might have done it doesn't mean he shouldn't have been punished.
Great video Matt thanks for uploading this very interesting stuff. You're keeping everyone in suspense by not revealing who the stinker is but I bet that there's a few of them lol! 😂
Can’t help but watch this and laugh at the corona bullshit. Can’t help feel massively sorry for the young lad Bradley. Edit: big fan of yours Matt the channel is very useful but surprised you were still entertaining/condoning the previous corona virus rules in 2023
When are the utterly useless PDC refs going to stop players ,mainly gerwen standing in the exclusion zone while the thrower is at the oche? gerwen is literaly breathing down the throwers neck. even the tv camera some times shows this. its a rule so why is it not enforced?
Can't make Daddy DRA mad or they throw a wobbler. Sounds like bowling and the USBC. Never say anything negative about them and always tell them how well they're running everything even when they're making a right balls of it, lest they'll pick your pockets. No betting, but we've got advertising contracts with every betting outfit from here to Gibraltar. *Headdesk* Sounds like their rulebook is in need of some streamlining. Golf tried to get that right in 2019, maybe the arrows are due for an overhaul also. (But that would likely cut into their profit margin. And yes, I'm cynical after seeing the lists of ticky-tack offenses they're claiming.)
The young man was lucky so few people got infected. It was highly contagious and if more people got infected or the event had to be cancelled... I could almost see a "class action" law suit against him or his family. If he was 18 at the time... he is legally an adult and liable. Four years has likely killed his career for the most part because he will lose four years of match play development.
@@dranderson6071 Covid's become more contagious with each variant, but less deadly as people got their jabs + as Omicron took over. But even if he didn't cause any death (or serious illness), what he did was stupid and reckless.

4 years seems harsh. Would they have done this to a higher profile player? Maybe so but compare it to boxing for instance where fighters popping for PEDS would not get anywhere near this personally I think a one year ban would be enough
An organization like the PDC should have been doing the testing themselves so players couldn't bring fake tests. I bet there were others that did this.
Most likely considering a bunch of players pulled out with Covid that year at the WC and they were self-testing
I agree with the first sentiment. A fine would've made no sense for a lad that young. The father who allegedly encouraged him to do this should be seriously ashamed that he put his son in this position
So what did MVG do to bring the darts into disrepute?
If you still get issues with the great unwashed now, just imagine the aromas at the BDO events back in the 80s!
Lol I bet some of them went over the top with the Old Spice too! 😂
You mean the BO events????
Seen Marcel Althaus on the 20th October, he's also a TH-camr (Scorpion darts) and a D-Puls player much before Martin Schindler. That one surprised me
What is the "bringing the sport into disrepute" violation and why are a few people (like MVG) regular recipients?!
Yeah, the ban could be considered harsh. But there's a really easy way to avoid bans/fines. Thats to not break the rules.
I found Wally.

I assume the Adrian Lewis one was for the Jose Justicia incident. MVG & Price should have shares in the DRA at this point.
