I used to play this all the time at Pinball Pete's on South University in Ann Arbor MI in the late '90s to U2's "The Last Night on Earth"....miss that so much!
The only flaw in this game is that it is too short. After all, it was made for Arcades. It is really a game that deserved another continuation dedicated to home consoles
also the direction was downward to ride in the fancy sports car "shot"- it was a boring game with jumping did more then the guns. two playrer does add something but still boring. "
@@mitchkatz4918 Well, the first version was a little more restricted due to the hardware limitations of the 80's, this made it impossible to do many more mechanics besides using the elevators. This proved true in the second version.
this game is now remade as a indie game, its called DOOR KICKERS: ACTION SQUAD and it has different guns and classes, manual reloading and hostage rescue! check it out!
I don't remember ever seeing this in the arcade. And if I had, I don't think I could follow the action enough to enjoy it! By '94 I was PC gaming at home, I guess.
+Paolo Gamer Actually, this is the good ending. In the bad ending, the timer counts down to 0 and the missile takes off. Here, the gates stay closed causing the missile to blow up inside the facility without reaching the intended target.
I used to play it in Ps1, even i played the newest one in the arcade "Elevator Action: Death Parade 2009", i miss that day a lot. Anyway, are these three characters are C.I.D (Criminal Investigation Department) like in Elevator Action: Death Parade 2009"?🤔🙏
If you've had the opportunity to listen to the OST the first track calls these characters the DEF... Lordt knows what it means because Taito had the most glorious Engrish of any japanese company
there is! this game is now remade as a indie game, its called DOOR KICKERS: ACTION SQUAD and it has now limited ammo, different guns and classes, and hostage rescue! check it out!
In hindsight, it looks more like an indie game, the music and sound fx is satisfying. It could be better if the ammo is limited so that the players won't be so wasteful and trigger-happy.

I think what happens is the missile crashes into the yellow/black striped gate and explodes, so it fails to reach the intended target. If the players run out of time, the gates open and the missile properly launches and you get the bad ending. As for the name Jad the Taff, my only guess is it's supposed to be "Tuff". There are many mistakes like this in the game, like the first character being "Kart" when I think it should be "Kurt", and Jad's weapon "Dessert Eagle" which should be "Desert Eagle".
this game is fantastic. I miss the arcades of the 90's.
There's a game for newer consoles called Huntdown and it plays and looks much like this. I love these kinds of games!
Wish this game franchise have a classic collection of all their titles for Nintendo switch port.. that would be awesome..
its on ps2 at least

Pinball Pete's is still there, but I don't think they have this game anymore. Too bad, it looks sick.
@@mutoneon trust me bro it is. Made me buy a ps2 in 2021.
How much was the game?
@@TBtheking405216 Hell yea son!!!
@@rochskier yeah only problem is the machine gun doesnt work you have to Jam the button. I just set my controller to auto when I play Taito Legends 2
Use to love this badass game at Camalot back in 98' 99'!
Thanks for the upload. This game has been on my mind for a few years now. Used to play it at Tokay Bowl in Lodi, California back in the nineties.

actually when a cable was in the shaft it prevented you from jumping through the space/shaft in the 2nd rendition it changed.

i've seen it once in the 90s. never knew it's actually a sequel to an 8 bit game
1:12, did not see that coming.
So in the "good" ending the heroes are killed.
Is BAD Ending
+Paolo Gamer Actually, this is the good ending. In the bad ending, the timer counts down to 0 and the missile takes off. Here, the gates stay closed causing the missile to blow up inside the facility without reaching the intended target.
arronmunroe Give me the bad ending. Hot chick lives, game gets a sequel.
+arronmunroe Wait:The BAD Ending Is GOOD Ending????LoL
+Paolo Gamer Only if you consider a bunch of innocent people dying but the hero surviving to be the good ending.

I don't why, but the three protagonists remind me of Leon, Claire, and Chris from Resident Evil.
Back in the day

Cool at minute 12 you play with the girl. ;)
So the Character that player controls died?
Seems that way.
CREAT a new society
Is this game just extremely unchallenging in the lower levels? I was bored to death.
What the HELL happened at the end? and what kinda name is Jad the Taff?!

@@arronmunroe The gun name is intended to be misspelled due to copyrights.
@@JimmyLJX if that were the case "desert hawk" would have been better than implying that the gun was a sweet after dinner treat
@@arronmunroe The heroes maybe found something with lead to hide in and get rescued in the end. I can write fanfiction on that.
