  • This was my entry into the Vertigo Quickfire Contest. It gave the challenge of making a coaster in a skinny plot of land... and that's pretty much it (more info here: nolimitscentral.com/forum/top....
    Download this park here: nolimitscentral.com/exchange/...
    STATISTICS:
    -Length: 851m / 2790ft
    -Top speed: 95 km/h / 59mph
    -Hight: 54m / 175ft
    -Inversions: 5
    -Duration (from first launch to brakes): 0:52
    -Footprint: 1600m² (100m x 16m) / 17200ft² (330ft x 52ft)
    NOTES:
    -Yeesh, I probably should have checked the negative forces more in the sim, some of those are a bit extreme.
    -I'm very proud of this support work, especially on the side of the beyond vertical drop. While I still have quite a lot of room for improvement in supporting, I think it's the best I've done so far.
    -Ah! I forgot to add back in catwalks at the first sloped launch! (I think they got lost when I was adjusting tie spacing)

      Thanks! It does take quite a bit of work figuring out forces and getting timings right for the subtitles, but I think it's fun to have. I was inspired to do it after seeing how the official Intamin blitz concepts showed force info for each element :)

    This needs to be built for real. Not like these pipe-dream coasters, this takes the Premier Rides Sky Rocket concept and literally craps all over it.. so much longer, so many awesome elements, and still a tiny footprint. I bet you don't need me to tell you that you should be mega proud of this.

      Premier would build something like this if they were asked. The reason the sky rocket is so popular is bc its not just small but its also very cheap.

    This caught my eye and I gotta tell ya, I wasn't expecting it to be very good. It looks goofy, awkward and painful.
    Then I watched it and was delightfully surprised at how creative it is. Its smooth, fast, full of surprises and just plain fun. With its small footprint and brilliant use of elements, this is a must have for any park. I would recommend sending this as an email attachment to parks to get their input on it. First, get a patent on it. Don't get screwed out of your designs.
    Its as close to flawless as a ride can get. Well done.

  • @alecday3775
    @alecday3775 ปีที่แล้ว

    This coaster would be PERFECT for any small park with not a large budget but wants that A-list attraction. This coaster would fit that bill nicely. I actually counted two more inversions with there being that Immelman and that final dive loop so there are 7 and not 5. The fact that you crammed so much into such a small space is why this coaster would be such a hit at small parks. I could even see this doing decently at medium sized parks as well as a great filler coaster. Medium parks might have the budget for a medium-sized Blitz or maybe Hyper depending on how much money they have and what manufacturer they could afford. As for this coaster, it really packs quite the punch for being such a small coaster and i could see this becoming the new 4D Free Fly as this looks like it would CRAP all over those. Outside of the negative force problem you admitted to, i would give this coaster a solid A. Great ride.

    I’ve heard there aren’t a lot of these “cage” style coasters because eventually the supports will wear faster and they’re difficult to maintain too, both factors that start to make them janky. New tech might help, and i love this concept you’ve created, just wonder if it would stay smooth. Even Steel Curtain is starting to get shaky after only a couple years of operation.

    • @trentrissubsidiary4619
      @trentrissubsidiary4619 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jacksongrace  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lol it's a super simple drop, actually something I thought of when I was really little, so I highly doubt they hadn't thought of it before. I also bet the layout was finalized well before I made this anyway. It really could only be on a coaster very big so I'm guessing that's a big reason it took so long for it to be made irl. However, Hyperia definitely feels like it takes some inspiration from more modern NL2 ideas, especially with the three stand alone elements all being double sided (though they're still all relatively simple double sided elements, so I wouldn't be surprised if the inspiration was very limited or non existent)

    i wish i was this good at the game lol. can u maybe give me tips cs u look amazing at the game

    • @jacksongrace
      @jacksongrace  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure! Here is my general process for making coasters with handbuilding:
      1st I create a rough outline of the coaster, getting down the general shaping ideas with all or most roll nodes being strict. In this phase I try to keep lateral forces to a minimum (As a tip, try to adjust rolls first and THEN move the track vertices to have low lateral forces).
      2nd I get into the details of the elements. I'll usually insert a few more track vertices, trying to adjust them to have constant positive forces in the valleys (try to keep them evenly spaced). I also will adjust the lateral forces to be as minimal as I can in this stage. To do this, instead of trying to make the track have low laterals just by spamming roll noes, I first make the lateral forces be smooth and gradual throughout the turn. This makes it so that when I then add more roll vertices to get rid of the lateral forces, I'll only need to add one or two in a certain spot which will make the transitions much smoother and keeps it from being wobbly.
      For getting rid of the harsh transitions between the strict rolls, I'll add two roll non-strict rolls between the two strict ones (each added roll should be near to one of the strict rolls, but not too close). Then adjust each of the added rolls to be about 5-10 degrees from the strict roll closest to them. Finally I'll move those rolls until there is barely any kink noticeable where the strict roll node is. If you've done it right, you can unstrict the outside rolls and barely even be able tell that anything has changed. (Note: you may want to spread the outer roll nodes out a little at first since with the addition of the other roll nodes the transition will become a bit quicker)
      3rd I smooth everything out. To do this, I'll insert even more track vertices without caring how smooth it looks for now, making sure to move the roll nodes back to where they originally were. I'll do this for 3-5 elements and then I'll depump all the vertices for those elements. If a certain element looks a bit over smoothed and lost some definition, I'll Ctrl+Z, add some more vertices to that element, and depump the whole section again. By the way, why I don't depump each individual element at a time is because at the ends of each depump there will often be a rough spot that is created. For these I'll usually try to adjust it by hand to be smoother, but it is best to just have to avoid those whenever possible.
      Sometimes there will also be new lateral forces that pop up some places which require slight adjustments and/or additions of roll nodes. For a lateral force correction, try to keep the number of roll nodes to a minimum.
      After going through the whole layout smoothed out, I'll often touch up certain details, adjusting/adding some roll nodes to further decrease lateral forces, spread roll nodes out more to reduce roll rates, etc. but for the most part the coaster will be finished!
      Hopefully this helps! If you have any questions about this feel free to ask :)

      @jacksongrace  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zachconnell5335 I'd guess that it is something to do with the roll nodes. Depumping doesn't effect them so maybe you have a strict roll node or two at the start and end of the element (or something) that causes a jolt. Maybe try using the method in the second paragraph of the "2nd" step, but just one side of it.
