Islay peated, smoky scotch. Very good stuff. Something special about a single malt that has compliments of the earthy tones and tannins found in the process of creating a solid and enjoyable experience for the drinker. I really appreciate the oaky and woody flavors that carry campfire-like tones, seaweed taste and iodine in the back to add more flavor to the palate.

Visited the distilleries at Oban and Blair Athol in the summer of 2018. The whiskey at Blair Athol was unique in that the barley was not smoked with peat, more like an Irish single malt, but excellent nonetheless. The whiskies at Oban we’re also excellent; hell, every whiskey I tasted in Scotland was excellent. Even the haggis was good, of course the whiskey helped with that. Darlington, South Carolina USA

It's a set of 3 tunes: "________"/Neil Gow's Lament on the death of his second wife/Huntingtone Castle but I can't identify the first tune or the performers.
Credited above is "North" but that is the second music choice. The first set is not in Mike Vass's discography...I searched endlessly!

My dad was a scotch drinker, his favorite was Johnnie Walker Black. I would drink it, but would always get a headache after. Still, for them who like it, drink hearty.

whyfahad I am not a scotch drinker, can't stand it. Ask someone who is a scotch drinker for a good brand. Good luck to you.

Never liked Scotch because I was exposed to cheaper blends, nothing wrong with them just not my thing. Didn't like Vodka or Gin much either. Visited Scotland and did a tasting at Talisker and my life has changed. I am addicted to single malt nectar of the gods and the Irish pot-still ambrosia. WOW. My life is changed forever. sláinte!

Last year {2014} I returned to Scotland and made a point of return to my birthplace. This was Auchentoshin distillery in Dalmuir. On my birth certificate is i s recorded as Auchentoshin distillery cottages Feb 20 1939. We did not manage to visit the distillery due to lack of time. I wonder if the cottages still stand there?. Joe, go to Google Street View and type in Dalmuir, Auchentoshin. It will take you to the distillery and you can look around to see if the cottage still stands.

I'm drinking scotch right now and the second I heard, "Scowets haive buien maikin wheskai fora centaries." I just spit some out and started giggling like a school girl. I love scotch, but I love Scottish people even more. :'D
Fuck, I've had a lot to drink though. O_O
