Great video, 2 wheels is the future for London. We are completely grinding to halt on the roads, too many buses, taxis and cars in the road. 90% of these journeys can be done on bikes of some sort, whether it be motorbikes, push bikes or e-bikes. The roads would be a lot safer and pollution would be cut dramatically. Plus the cost of public transport is ridiculous high and unreliable. Can't wait for the day when you're running into town on the A4 and all you can see is bikes and the odd electric vehicle. keep up the good work chaps 👌🚴

Maybe a silly question for Ben but gray London (and UK) has a reputation for rain, so how to protect the electricals on the bikes...does he see a lot of repairs needed? Here in San Francisco, it's not too bad. And, congratulations on the great branding and store/cafe design.
artdrectr thanks for the question... you know it’s not that bad actually here in london. It rains far more in Paris, NYC, Seatle and certain other cities. Anyway we sell mainly Bosch and Yamaha and Gocycle amongst other state of the art systems and these bikes are mega waterproof. We had a few issues sometimes with a2b error 30 in wet conditions but nothing we can’t fix almost instantly - if it takes any longer than that we lend an ebike £FOC until it’s done. Thanks for the kind words. What do you guys do in SanFran?

Loved the Mustache balance bike for the little one. You probably know this but after the balance bike when he's big enough for a pedal bike, after one day without pedals, you put them back on and he'll be away.
Interesting to think about the future of biking. My local bike mechanic - Bosch accredited and mobile! - tells me that he has been surprised by the LACK of growth in traditional cycling. He expected to see much more interest following GB's success in Olympic and Tour de France cycling but this hasn't happened. What has happened though is growth in e-biking. Any views on whether this will be sustained in the longer term?
One thing to note about London is that as a city it is becoming more 'bike friendly' with the construction of dedicated bike only 'super-highways' along the main commuter arterial routes - separating for significant stretches of road, 'pedal bikes' from general vehicular traffic. So there is definitely a transition happening.

You know the new active line plus motor is really easy to cruise past the limiter so that will help people get to 20 that don’t want to derestrict 👍🏼

Your right it is a bit low, but you gotta think that when the government introduces electric Bike sharing schemes in our cities you got tourists not knowing where they are going looking at their iPhones with electrIc busses cruising past there has to be something to stop major accidents. Also you know the average car speed in london is roughly 7mph!! So it’s much more than twice as quick to get around on ebikes and cheap as chips. Are you aware there is a huge amount of derestricting that goes on for ebikes especially for use on private property and also long open roads - Bare in mind a Ferrari isn’t restricted to 70mph 😉
Here in Switzerland you can either buy 27km/h or 45km/h. When I got my wife a new e-bike I thought long and hard about which version I should get. 45 km/h is too fast to be safe in an urban environment so I got the 27 version. There are a lot of accidents with novice e-bikers going 45 and are unable to drive safely. Its quite dangerous actually.
I'm sorry DP but we get that same argument here in North America. I have to wonder how if a bike can go 50kms/hr does restricting the bike to 17 make it any safer? Just because a bike or car is capable of 160kms/hr doesn't mean you can fix stupid for riding too fast for conditions. When road bikes (non-powered) can hit speeds of 80 kms/hr. it is ultimately up to the operator to educate himself just what safe speed means. It should not be a penalty put on the entire industry just as it does not happen in the automotive world.
Sidowse, When a reasonably fit cyclist can pedal faster than 17 mph your limitation on Power Assist doesn't hold any justification. Most Power Assists are used to climb hills or arrive at your destination not covered in perspiration & any irresponsible speeds should be dealt with without penalizing the entire country.

Hawsrule Begin just so you are aware we sell fantastic ebikes from £1,000 that’s £1/day over 3 years. The average price for public transport in London is about £7/day. However, I can sympathise that the carbon full suss ebikes seem like an expensive hobby but you don’t need to spend that much to be able to go and get lost in nature on a very good Ebike. We just avoid some of the Chinese bikes that are under £1,000 because they tend to be problematic. We are also planning on opening a good value rental service in the future
cheap bike, cheap hub motor, battery, for under £600 that's cheap, or used downhill bike and bafang, theres many other options out there for a lot less
Sorry but 15.5 mph restriction is simply ridiculous, I will buy when they set the speed to 20mph which makes more sense, my friend bought a hybrid so that he could use it off-road on his parents farm, but he hasn’t the ability to switch the stupid restriction off? He got rid off and will never buy another one ( insane government idiots who dictate and treat people like children ) the speed limit for my car is set down on various roads, but I have the ability to break that speed limit as my car is capable of doing 150mph? Where is the logic ? Ebikes ( 15.5 mph ( full stop)

No worries, Robert, ian Sampson along with electric leaf man are the main reasons I'm transferring over from ICE to BEV hence my channel name :) I know its not the same vehicles as your promoting but I'll be trying to get as many taxi and PHV drivers over to BEV in the coming years. They will find as much information as I can provide on my channel, so hopefully the carbon footprint in cities and towns will become less and less. Cheers and good luck with the future sales!

However The Shard will not be the tallest building in Europe for much longer as it seems to be a competition for developers to outdo each other. I can do 20mph on an ebike in the USA, I can legally do 28mph in Germany no restrictions? Yet I come to the UK and there ebikes are restricted to 15.5mph? Pointless buying one in the U.K. Rather walk

DP ie it’s actually a nice speed to cruise at 27 especially up those steep hills in Switzerland :)

Sorry but 15.5 mph restriction is simply ridiculous, I will buy when they set the speed to 20mph which makes more sense, my friend bought a hybrid so that he could use it off-road on his parents farm, but he hasn’t the ability to switch the stupid restriction off? He got rid off and will never buy another one ( insane government idiots who dictate and treat people like children ) the speed limit for my car is set down on various roads, but I have the ability to break that speed limit as my car is capable of doing 150mph? Where is the logic ? Ebikes ( 15.5 mph ( full stop)

No worries, Robert, ian Sampson along with electric leaf man are the main reasons I'm transferring over from ICE to BEV hence my channel name :) I know its not the same vehicles as your promoting but I'll be trying to get as many taxi and PHV drivers over to BEV in the coming years. They will find as much information as I can provide on my channel, so hopefully the carbon footprint in cities and towns will become less and less. Cheers and good luck with the future sales!

11Daniel2k sorry but I think you will find that Moscow is actually considered to be in Asia not in Europe. However The Shard will not be the tallest building in Europe for much longer as it seems to be a competition for developers to outdo each other. It is a mighty cool building though and really stands out in London from many miles away...

I can do 20mph on an ebike in the USA, I can legally do 28mph in Germany no restrictions? Yet I come to the UK and there ebikes are restricted to 15.5mph? Pointless buying one in the U.K. Rather walk

lock Hughes this is quite true we would love more female energy, currently we only have 1 part time lady on our film crew and social media team we used you have a great mechanic called Anna but she has moved out of the electric transport sector. We would love a top girl on our sales team which is growing fast and a really good chance for someone to get their foot in the door :) thanks for the comment
