Bhai, I am also a sx 250 owner. My son has gixxer 250. Both use same OEM air filter. My son ordered BMC airfilter for gixxer 250. While I was installing it I found the shape of the size and shape of the two slightly different. The OEM is sliglty wider and rounded in the front left corner, but in BMC all the 4 sides are same. Hence, the BMC doesn't fit properly. Though it can be force fitted, but minute gaps in the cover remain. This could be very dangerous in the long run as unfiltered air is passing from under the BMC filter. Actually, this BMC air filter is for Gixxer 150. Website also mentions same. But in the box sticker they wrote gixxer 150/250. (I had discussed with LRL motors regarding this. They told me to return the item) If you don't understand what I am talking about, take out the BMC filter and compare it with the OEM filter. Note the front left corner. I did not fit the BMC in gixxer 250 as I cannot take such risk with engine. I suggest you to remove it.
Spot on observation, saw your comment in another video as well , filter design for the 150 and 250 are different on just one corner. I was also considering this BMC air filter, but now I won't 😂
Was a very helpful content as I am planning to buy a vstrom and upgrade it's performance. Please post future modifications update as well bro and also about the performance changes over the time with such mods, that would help a lot.
Thank you ever so much! This was precisely what I was looking for. Have you noticed any clearly visible changes in the way the bike performs over time? Any changes in the mileage? Also, have you considered installing FuelX Pro? Thanks again.
Much Welcome Brother! You get a power increase of about 5-7% and that is quite evident, you’ll love the throttle response and overall smoothness has also gone up. The bike sounds 10% more bassy above 2k rpm. As far as the mileage goes. Im testing it for a long term, but as of now it has gone down because I’ve been riding it very very hard☠️, 27 approxx. Im gonna skip the fuelx pro for now coz Im satisfied with this much of mods, I will now get an exhaust muffler spice up things! Im honoured Sir🙏🏻 Keep Supporting!
That’s nice. Adding a muffler wouldn’t be street legal, would it? Either way keep up the good work. That was a very detailed walkthrough of how to change the air filter by yourself. You should consider making it a series of such DIY projects for the bike. Thanks again.
If the bike is going out of emission norms and sound is below 80db, then It is legal. I will just change the muffler and will not remove the catalytic converter which will have no effect on the emissions and the sound will also be below 80db.
nice video bro! greetings from Indonesia. may i know is the air filter size similar to GSX-150R that we have here in Indonesia? since there's not much aftermarket parts yet for Vstrom 250SX here, thankyou!
Hello Leonardo 🙌🏻 thanks! I just looked at some stock air filter images for the GSX-150R and I think it should pretty much fit your bike! Just take your stock filter to the store and compare it with the BMC one. Im sure you’ll figure it out!
Hi Bro, i have a query , My v strom becomes buzzy and i can feel vibrations on foot pegs on 2-3rd gear on 3000-4000 rpm but the moment i go on higher gears the vibrations disappears and it becomes super smooth till 120-130 kmph, do you have similar experience? I usually get mileage of 38-40 in cities and on highways i have got 45-46 kmpl as well , completed 10k plus kms till now 😊 let me know about query , thanks
Yes I have had similar experience! Bro you getting insane mileage 😳 what highway speeds you ride on? Because I cruise 120-130 on highway and get a mileage of 35kmpl.
Bro have you tested this? I am currently using the Vesrah ones for my Vstrom 250, but those are ceramic. I wanted Sintered ones so maybe I can use EBC ones made for GT 650?
@@Sang-wan Don't know about the front one currently using the rear one and it's 10x better then the stock one. Vesrah is long lasting but doesn't provide significant improvement in braking compared to stock one.

@@somksadh thanks for the reply. Good so far, it's okay but the health of the bike is a problem after some days that's what I have heard. I will wait for the result after about a month. Did you get the re mapping done after you installed the air filter?
Engine health is affected when we use cheap aftermarket air filters like bsddp, moxi, HP etc. Premium air filters like K&N and BMC don't affect the health. Also there is no need of remapping, the ecu itself adapts to slight changes.
