Finished binging this show today. For the first time. Didn't really know it was existed till about 3 weeks ago. Discovered it by watching Kyle Chandler's new Slumberland movie which made me go back and watch Early Edition (He'll always be Gary, for me) and then came that show... I love it. I loved the doc style, the cast, the stories, coach is a terrific character. Kyle is an underrated actor. GIVE him a leading roll already, in a feature! Anyway, one should be lucky to be part of this show.

I respect the hell out of the style of film making used here. I love that each of the scenes happen in one consistent take with 3 cameras rolling at the same time. It creates such a more honest appearance that is so relatable.

This show changed how I see my life and gave me perspective on all that I wanted and never had due to the poor choices I've made! I don't know that I really wanted to take this close a look at myself and my life due to the many regrets I have, however, at least now I've gained clarity and hopefully that clarity will carry over into whatever comes next! Thanks to Friday Night Lights, I now have a visual of how I wish my life had been like which is better than never having had anything at all.

When this last season was filmed I was still in High School and now I am in my 30’s. I love FNL, always will. These kind of shows, so grounded in reality that it feels like it’s real are so rare to find. We are blessed it made it 5 seasons because corporate studio executives never understand these kinds of shows and I’m sure behind the scenes they were fighting very hard to keep it on the air as long as it was. Bless!

yup, I just watched the show last month for the first time and I am so grateful it exists. It's become one of those treasured experiences for me where I can go back and rewatch and it's very comforting, Dillon and all the people we got to know, it just was written and performed in such a genuine way. and you're right about how fortunate we are to have 5 seasons and such a satisfying end. imagine it got cancelled with the shortened s2 and we never got more past that? even in the directv days it faced cancellation. it was like the perfect alignment of factors that brought this show together and there's nothing else quite like it.

this finale is amazing, I love how fulfilling it is for the characters and seeing them start their next stage in life, new beginnings. also i was so happy Matt and Julie stayed together, they were my favorite couple aside from Eric and Tami, parallels to their younger selves.
watching this show and finishing it for the first time gives me such a bittersweet feeling, grateful to have seen it and got to fully appreciate it but also I feel like I won't be able to find any other show/film that lives up to how much of a perfect combo this was of sports, family drama, romance, small-town life. and how genuine the characters and their relationships are, the filming style is still so unique and it greatly made for the identity of this show in feeling like a fly-on-the-wall doc of the people of Dillon
