being pretty is such a small part of who someone is.. maybe we should start complementing people for their intellectual strengths rather than putting so much pressure and power into appearances. I think she’s well spoken and kind!

I think she’s beautiful,well spoken, kind, a good/loyal friend, and more but the reason why I called her pretty at that time is because I felt like the way she spoke about people who picked on her, showed how kind and what a good person she is which makes her even prettier which is why I commented how pretty she is .

This is one high school stereotype I have to agree with: the mean cheerleaders. I cheered my freshman year and refused to continue throughout high school (despite loving it) because the girls were so freaking mean and I knew I would've been miserable. High school in itself is very cliquey but cheerleaders are def the worst.

They were very clearly jealous and felt threatened.. they obviously didn’t want anyone to be “better than them” so I feel they saw some competition & wanted to bring you down & felt the need to make everyone else’s perception of you bad & wanted to manipulate situations to show you in a bad light. Girls are ridiculous sometimes.

I didn't make cheer this year but I'm kind of glad. Those girls are so toxic and always made me feel unwelcome. I never had a good time but for some reason I still wanted to keep doing it.

Everyone has drama in school no matter what grade you’re in. Like you said in old videos during talk seshes or Q&A you weren’t the nicest back then as you are now. We all have bad memories. So the best thing is to move forward and to forgive and forget. 🤍🤍

There was a girl on my cheer team in high school that was the identical to “Abby.” She always targeted me and I was so scared to stand up to her. This story reminded me sm of my hs cheer experience just full of petty girls. All my teammates would tell me she targeted me because I was the only one who wouldn’t stand up for myself but it’s scary!!!!!!!!
Same. It’s like they target us especially because they know we have a hard time standing up for ourselves! It honestly sucks but you learn a lesson: never take bs from anyone. nobody else will stand up for you so you got to stand up for yourself!💗
omg! i felt thattt when you said you’re stunt group was never worked with. and it ALWAYS felt like one stunt group was competing with the other!!
i dealt with similar stuff my freshman year it caused me to quit and i regret it everyday cause i truly did love cheer so much. my coaches completely ignored it when i confronted them about the situation. they all told me that no one cared about me and that i should just quit. it truly is the the worst feeling in the world and it is so frustrating when you try so hard to make peace. you should be proud of yourself for how mature you handled the situation even if at the time it didn't seem like it

I was a varsity cheerleader from freshman to junior year. I had some stuff like this go down at the end of my junior year so I ended up not cheering my senior year and honestly I don’t regret it.
as someone who has cheered in this district, i am so sorry. i have also had a terrible experience cheering there & i no longer live in that town
You have to be strong as hell to deal with that kind of stupidity, I personally couldn’t of done it. I quit cheer for those same reasons. It made you into a strong young woman! I’m glad you didn’t give up. I know you probably had so many rough nights with debating on giving up. YOU DIDN’T. You deserve a trophy for that. So many girls suffer from depression with girls like this. Now that I’m not in high school, I think and cry a little for those who are dealing with that right now. Shit like that hurts in another way!!

girl I literally quit my high school cheer team before my senior year bc of all these same kind of little things. Like no one talked one talked to me or took pictures with me or invited me to anything then posted a tik tok joking about the score of a football game and everyone hated me and the coaches had it out for me the entire rest of the year 😃😃

i’m in my senior year of highschool in cheer and i’m honestly counting the days until i can graduate and get off of the team, i have so many nasty memories from the girls on the team. i feel like the cheer team always has cliques & favorites & it sucks because then there’s people like me who always feel left out & sad. i love cheer and stunting but this team has definitely made it an un enjoyable experience :(

i’m experiencing the same thing but as a freshman in a softball team, all the seniors talk or make faces to each other when i do anything and this one girl always has something to say just about me but tries to direct as if it’s about everyone. it’s super annoying. they all have their own groups and always talk mess about the freshman.

i know im kind of late to this video but let me just say: omg that girl abby is terrible! the fact that she was a senior and a leader on the team and she treated you this way... unacceptable! i am one of the cheer captains at my school and i am a rising senior this year and this whole story blows my mind. the fact that all of this happened to you is so crazy and i'm sorry you had to go through all of this!! cheer can definitely have a lot of drama. but thanks for sharing your story because from this, i am definitely learning how to be a better captain and handle petty situations like this in a mature way (which you totally did). so thank you!! and i also loved watching your cheer videos when you were in high school!

I went through a similar situation except I was in band and not cheer. Sadly for me it was too toxic and stressful for me so I had to stop going. The main director for band did not let me get out because i was too good to quit but he did not try to resolve the issue at all. So I just stopped going and never stepped foot into the band hall again which hurt because I had so many good memories there.
I swear us Savannah’s have gone through it all😩✋🏼

I totally understand their frustrations as someone who was on a team from 7th grade through senior year I cant imagine someone else taking the place of someone I was on a team with (who i considered my second family) on our last year together as a team. but we never would've been so rude and unsupportive of someone on our team.

I can relate but it was sports training. I never really felt like I had friends in the group. Once you get out of high school non of it really matters. For the girl that felt left out or the people who were popular. It’s just sad that some people feel the need to ruin or not let someone feel welcomed during your 4 important years of your life.
