I bet every barbershoper and sweet adeline chorus and quartet know these songs by heart. An excellent combination and voice blending by all male quartet and all female chorus. Kudos! Oh how I missed barbershoping.
Oh my goodness I'm so happy to see all the girls in treblemakers kicking butt! I left CHS with most of these girls still in beginning or advanced...so proud to see them in the top level shining so bright!!! Oh how I miss choir and Ms. Lyford... Nothing like standing up on stage and blending your voice effortlessly with others ❤🎶
Wow, my eyes welled up listening to this. So impressed how clean that chorus is, and they are so young. Keep up the good work Lori and the Trebelmakers!
It just blows you away. I was blessed to be able to be in the orchestra pit as the drummer for many performances of The Music Man. If I had heard this performance then, I would be blown away. Bravo!
As a St. Louisan, I grew up going to The Muny, a wonderful outdoor theater. There, I saw and grew to love The Music Man. Lida Rose/Will I Ever Tell You has always been a favorite song of mine. So recently, when I bought a Black Labrador puppy, as a tribute to my parents who exposed me to the arts, I named her Lida Rose, and she goes by Rosie. I watch this video several times a week, and it never gets old. I still get emotional with it. Kudos to Main Street and the Treblemakers from Chandler High School. You captured the spirit of this song perfectly.
I love this. In today's age, where men and women are having pointless fights to prove which gender is superior, this shows how beautiful things can be if we just play our part and harmonize with the other.
***** Tony has been singing Lead with Main Street for several years now. He won a Gold as a Lead with Max Q... and Main Street has been in the top 5 consistently!
Awesome, awesome!!! I've not watched a lot of barbershop, and I've assumed always that the bass is on furthest stage left. But not here (as evidenced at 1:44), where we can plainly see (read their lips!) the bass is obviously 2nd from stage right. Is there a standard seating (or standing) configuration for these groups?
Yes, the general arrangement typically has the Bass and the Lead in the middle while the Tenor is on the outside of the Lead and the Baritone is on the outside of the Bass. So like in Main Street the configuration is Baritone Bass Lead Tenor. If you’ve seen any songs from Masterpiece I think they’re probably the only recent gold medal quartet to put the Bass on the outside.
Main Street is a current medalist quartet at the Barbershop Harmony Society International Quartet Contest, held each July. They have been in the top 5 several times and are an audience favorite for sure.
Barbershop Harmony Society That looks like a silver medal for the international competition. I know that the first place winners aren't allowed to *compete* with the same members again although they may perform together. Which medal are they wearing....

The best, the most beautiful rendition of this classic that I have ever heard.
Lovely classic!

Exactly. Imagine being in a world where this happened often, genders blending together in harmony. Beautiful wouldn't it be?
HOLY COW! That's Tony DeRosa singing Lead! Is he going for another Gold Medal or just filling in?

it just doesn't get any better
Beautiful. Why do the gal’s hand motions remind me of Ron Burgundy?
Is that the Mo Rector/Nancy Bergman arrangement they're singing?
Does anyone know who the arranger of this piece is?
You can find it here: shop.barbershop.org/sheet-music/published/lida-rose-will-i-ever-tell-you-clone/
