This is the second game I have seen someone take a hellcannon, and the second time I have seen it roll a 1 on the misfire chart in the first turn. So thanks for not removing it, because I want to see one actually shoot. 😂

Why is it so expensive :(? Of all the stone throwers it has the lowest dmg of only d3. Atleast 30 points too much in it. I would take screaming skull catapult over it anyday now for 125 points with the same panic test rule.

I got to use the hellcannon in two games back in 6th edition. First game: rolled misfire in 1st turn and got the result where it breaks its chains and starts roaming the battlefield like a chaos spawn, unable to fire normally for the rest of the game. Second game: 1st turn shot scattered away from target. 2nd turn got misfire again and exploded. 😂 Seems it's just in their nature hahah And now they also have to pass a Ld test to begin with or misfire regardless. Very sad. Nearly 20 years and yet to see one making its points back, maybe I never will 😂

Get teal, once slaes slow down on these armies, they will introduce the rest "at fan's request". And milk it all the OLD minis as much as they can.

Slight mistake at 1:12:00 I think you actually can regenerate zombies past their starting number since they have their 'newly dead' special rule
This; you can cast it on a unit that has never been hurt (you always start pumping them turn 1)
I did say comment below if you think different and you did! Thanks 😊 haha so question for you guys, why do you think you can increase them when they haven’t lost any models? Reason I say is I know there is the ‘Newly Dead’ rule but the Invocation of Nehek says you use it to ‘recover lost wounds’
In the case on the time stamp scenario those zombies had not lost any wounds, if they lost 1 for example and I used invocation and rolled higher than 1 (obvs) then I could add more than 1 because of the ‘Newly Dead’ rule - that’s how I read it anyway

@@sn_dc literally You are right but logic says it makes no sense to wait till You lose 1 zombie to raise beyond the starting size. I wonder if they'll do a FAQ or errata to solve this.
@@TheDiackon yer totally agree I think the spirit of it is you can raise more zombies straight away and needs to be FAQ’d - plus that’s cool, rather than waiting for one wound as you say! haha it’s a shame you cannot ‘raise dead’ and then hit them with the invocation ability at the same time - as you do that before conjuration spells 🙃 especially as they’ve changed the raise dead to 2D3 when it was D6+4 in our version of the pdf they sent! Means what like 4 zombies on average for a raise dead?
@sn_dc well if You put them where they cant be hurt You can buff them before they charge rear/side in the next turn. If You need just a moving fence for a charge to slow down better to have less than more as You saw in this game ;)
NOTE ON RAISE DEAD SPELL: The PDF of the rules we were given for Vampire Counts at the time of recording had the ‘Raise Dead’ spell providing D6+4 Zombies, which is seems to have been changed since the release to 2D3 👍

One nitpick: Units can't be deeper then wide normaly. So the Skeletons either need to be wider or they are in march stance all game
Also, the Ap-1 for Warriors of Chaos only affects singular hand weapons

I think we do the regeneration correct but may have missed a combat res with a combat or two?

@@sn_dc the regeneration bit you did catch yourself later in the battlereport, so I edited my post. I did not notice any major hiccups otherwise.

Hi guys, keep in mind that if your opponent has to close the door when you charge, it counts as a disordered charge charge and you don't get your bonuses to charge.

Zombie that save with the regen saves still count as killed for the purpose of combat resolution, so it would have been 7 killed instead of 4.

Hello! Quick note the chaos sorcerer has a larger base size than marauders. It can still join them but must be to the side instead of in the unit fully. Also, the hellcannon is a large target and can draw LoS over other units. Keep up the videos!

with the invocatoin of nehek the zombies have the newly dead rule which allows the unit to be bigger than its starting size :)
45:00 Raise dead only raises 2D3 Zombies, not 1D6 + caster level. AND they have the "skirmishers" rule, not "open" or "closed order", so the zombies will form up on their opponent instead of vice-versa on a charge.
I made a sticky note in the comments section just now for this, the PDF we were sent had D6+4 in the Raise Dead spell. Just checked the public version and they’ve changed it to 2D3! So bit of a nerf?
*Love* that Sorcerer model. I turned mine into a Necrarch Vampire with a hump showing through his frayed robes. I had all forgotten about it; I should really dig up that old mini now that the VC list has dropped :D

Hello! Great video! At 41:15 you can’t use the leadership bounce from war band to restrain after combat. The lord is only LD 9 so the test was failed. Keep up the great content!!

Great game, it was looking like it could've been dicey for chaos right up until they got into combat. It really shows how powerful combat resolution is in this game honestly. That did a TON of extra damage.
I think I couldn’t have taken the game if I wasn’t an idiot at deployment! All my skeleton warriors stuck on that one flank! I will get my revenge! 😅

Love the 5th ed Vampire Counts models you had mixed in there, that was my first fantasy army back in 1999 when they came out. Now slowly collecting an army of just models from that period, lots of hard to find models as some of them were only sold for a couple of years.
That’s so cool, love that idea! I’m a big fan of the older models, probably just my nostalgia hitting home - I need to get my hands on Zacharias the Everliving next!
@@sn_dc Sure, some of it is nostalgia, but many of the older models are really great. Being hand sculpted gives them a quality of their own that the modern ones lack and even if it's just nostalgia, doesn't matter why we like them. :)

@@Ethnarches totally agree, the Vampire on this report is one of my favourite GW sculpts ever made! Some of the older models have real impact and depth to them over the newer stuff. And thanks I’ll get my hands on him eventually haha
For bringing a vampire in the style of Necrarch, you immediately got my 'like'.
Necrarchs are my ABSOLUTE favorite characters, bar none, in Warhammer fantasy. I'm so sad we can't be level 4 anymore.

1:08:27 Regeneration was changed from 8th edition - wounds saved by Regeneration now count for the purposes of calculating combat results (even if the wounds are not actually "inflicted"), so those zombies would have lost by 6 and crumbled by 5 thanks to the Corpse Cart.

For regeneration & combat resolution, when in the offical demo game (Warhammer Channel) I believe that they counted the killed undead towards the combat resolution, and THEN they come back. Which is slightly different to here where the rolling for regeneration isn't counted. Might be worth a check? 1:05:58
We do count the regeneration but maybe not said correctly?

@sn_dc sounds good, and it is only an observation, back when I used to play 7th edition we barely counted combat resolution if it was close & carried on cutting away at each other 😬 It is great to see Warhammer "back" as I wanted to get back into the hobby about the time AOS came out & then missed the HH arc & range. Absolutely great, new subscriber now & here for the Old World, best of luck, love it so far.

Regen counts as wounds lost for the resolution. Also wounds made during stand and shoot counts as it, in case it comes up in the future

I have an old VC army with around 130 Zombies. Around 100 that are converted so every one is unique. I also love necrarch so have been thinking along the same line as you. I even have the same models. ^^*

Something I've seen being done differently in various videos with undead and their crumbling as part of combat resolution - is that I've seen some channels taking regen wounds on the crumble and others not... Something I'm going to have to look into in the book tonight I feel!

Wights have Cleaving Blow; so the 6 armor bane doesn't even matter you just blow through his armor completely. It also ignores regen. Baby Killing Blow; of which Wight Characters have.
If I understand it correctly VC's BsB can re-roll ANY failed Leadership test, which includes Invocation of Nehek. I first thought it was weird Counts only had Ld 8, but I guess that make sense now. :)

@@sn_dc Feels like the Wight King is VC's version of a Tomb King. I was thinking of a unit of Grave Guards with a combat monster of a Wight King, buffing the unit with that magical helmet and a Wight Lord holding a nasty BsB banner. Then having a "necrarch" vampire on a Abyssal Terror flying around and being a magical-combat pain.^^

Those are from a company called Gale Force 9 I believe! It was a good number of years ago now
My biggest annoyance with thos isn't the sigmar hammer, mk6, under armour ribbing or ipad running 3d Skype.
It's that they chose to make a poor version of an easily kitbashed consul instead of the missing legion praetors or Warsmith etc

Good battle report! I must admit the Hellcannon seemed to do very little here. But once the Chaos Warriors got going, they really did some damage.
Agreed I think the cannon can be swingy but get a good hit off on to an elite unit and you’re mulching them!

You had him read the spell (spirit leech) out loud and promptly ignored the first words out of his mouth lol "until the end of THIS turn" not round. So the trolls didn't fail stupidity on chaos turn 3 and should have been free to charge.
I guess as the book says stupidity is contagious 😂

It might be worth deploying the warriors in a 7 wide formation. They can put out a lot of damage.

I think Pardo deserves a bunch of credit for taking on the pressure of a Bat Rep being so new to the game but, sorry if i'm being overly critical, imo it didn't always make for the most thrilling battle. Great production, presentation and enthusiasm as always and i hope Pardo enjoyed it and will return to the Old World after some more battle experience.
Thanks for that, and yer to be fair he did say to me that he wants more practice games under his belt which is totally fair - I kinda pushed him into playing on camera for the first time which as you say can’t be easy! It’s a balancing act between wanting to get content out for people to enjoy and of course the usual life happens of players being available etc 😊

36:27 i believe during the charge youre allowed to wheel through your own units now as long as your units dont overlap at the end. I think those chaos warriors could have fit past the other unit of chaos warriors to meet the dogs rather thab the dogs having to close to them. Also i think there is something about it you cant close to the enemy you charged then it becomes a disordered charge, but not sure if thats only for terrain/not a high enough charge roll

@@sn_dc just the one, not sure it really would have changed anything in this instance, but it does mean you can use small units like the dogs to redirect units sometimes, to set yourself up for a flank charge if they don't manage to reform, or to change their viable charge targets on their next turn

I think you miscounted the first combat - you suffered 6 Wounds in total and regenned 1, wich would leave none left to strike back or crumble.

Love your battle reports 😊 one minor comment though.. you often say "I'll give ground two inches" and then only move one 😂 (more often than not) it probably would make a decent difference, even in your favour with these locked up battle lines. :)
