Good to see you back mate. My 10yr old son and i enjoy your content and once a fortnight drop some traps in searching for random creek fish. Have a large tank full of unusual fish from the creek
Welcome back! So sorry about the losses over Christmas, those storms were feral. I've been really enjoying catching invasives, and it's a tossup for me between a sleepy cod and some blue pearl crays as far as what I'll get to be my feature fish buddy to eat the gambusia etc, have you considered either of those? Apparantly theyre quite fun. Got a great little spot in Sunnybank hills that is choccers with swordies and some gorgeous endlers that you'd be welcome to, still looking for a few blue-eye for my native tank though!
Me again, actually logged in this time. Just caught fingerling TILAPIA out of my lil spot, so bummed. You should come out, found platys and gambusia here today too, it's a mess. Endlers still stunning though.
@@rattusrachie5652 Most of those creeks through sunnybank are done for these days, the polution is bad, really really really bad. I've caught a range of different things in those systems, the best I've caught was a small 10cm purple spot gudgeon, otherwise its all pest fish.
@@Dundeel. I understand mate. I have a few spots I keep secret I found searching Google Earth. Places I can take my kids and always get a bucket for of edible freshwater fish. I would make a video but scared someone might pick up the waterway from the background. I appreciate you for making such great videos. The fact my son is now interested in coming with me fishing I honestly owe you. He got so excited the first video he saw and because it's local even more excited. I took him to a place and said it was from your video. Lied but he was so happy. Like beaming Thinking he caught fish the same place a TH-cam "star" as he said caught them. So thanks mate. Your videos are more than just entertainment.
I've learned that same lesson a few years back They have automatic air pumps on Amazon that turn on automatically and run for 72ish hrs on the batt inside Literal life savers
Ey bro you got a red fin blue eye! Too bad it died.. I went to see the place in husky the other day and they had dug up some of the creek, whoever it was decimated that creek, i think it killed off moat of the fish that were in there, i put tjose blue eyes back in there with some females, all i saw were ghost shrimp there and some thpe of tiny gudgeons, no fish bigger than 2 cms, i was there for about an hour tryna see what was in there, hopefully they moved up or down the creek...
If you want a fish as a live feed muncher. I'd probably go with an Aussie Bass. Barra and Saratoga grow to big and need warmer water. Bass have a big gob and ambush predator. Spangle/Silver Perches have smaller mouths. Yellow belly/Golden perch is also subtropical and likes live food. Sleepy Cod maybe but they don't do much in tanks...just sleepy about. I'd go with a Bass or Golden Perch. Though your tank of Jack Dempsies would probably smash a school of guppies...
i g fish trapping myself alot if interested in going together ever let me know i keep natives & go catcjing sword tails etc for feeders as well as pet natives
@ChildofAssur don’t make nonsense all my fish are caught from drains and creeks who cares there condition in the tank are better then half places they come from lmao
Great to see you back! I’ve been thinking of a spangled perch to take care of all the swords I’ve been catching myself..
Little orange fish are rosy barbs mate 👍🏽

Be great to have a basics video. Native vs invasive so ppl just starting can know for sure if they are helping or hindering. Great work.
Welcome back bro !!
RIP chunky.
We also collect ornamental fish in Brazil, congratulations on the video

The orange fish would be a 1 spot barb commonly found in the aquarium trade

Can you tell me where you got those blue eyes? I'm on the northside of Brissy and aren't having much luck finding them yet :/
I’ll try find some up there this month and make a video
@@Dundeel. Awesome thank you 😁
I take it that place runs to saltwater With the blue eyes being in there?
Possibly from recent weather events we have had last couple months but it is connected to coombabah wetlands which is a salt marsh
if you dont mind me asking, around what area where the Jack Dempsey's at?
Is that green lagoon next to blue lagoon that you are fishing for the jd’s or in blue lagoon?
