I think they all knew it was the end of the road for them as a band, and so they poured their hearts and souls into that January rooftop performance. Come on, Paul, please release that movie on Blu-ray. Please!
Ok. This Pachelli version is the best tribute to The Beatles 'Don't Let Me Down' that I've ever heard. Yes I've heard others, but this one captures the passion like no other
My favourite Beatles song. Great work to spot John's use of the pick. George's playing is incredible. Macca’s bass is amazing. Ringo drums it out of the park. Cream on the cake is Preston's keys
Nice job! The older I get, the more I appreciate those guys. I think I learned to walk with Sgt. Pepper spinning on dad’s record player. Streaming it over 50 years later and it still sounds fresh. People will study this music til the end of time.
I love your lessons because you're not afraid to sing with them. It's kinda hard to learn a two or three cord song that just repeats itself without the word to go along with it.
love the the way John forgets a line on the rooftop concert; also Billy does gorgeous keyboards; love John and Paul still singing harmony together that close to the breakup. George's custom tele...MIke, thanks for all your great posts !
Music lessons are both aural and visual. Tabs/chord shapes on screen are of great help. May your generosity come back to you hundredfold. We appreciate your talent and efforts. Thanks ❤
Why weren't you my guitar teacher growing up? I learn so much from you on how to really play these Beatles' songs the right way. I just love the little intricate details you share that make the songs sound like the recordings. Thanks, Mike. You didn't let me down. On a related note: I am a lifelong Beatles' fan. They are my favorite group of all time. I have had the honor of seeing Sir Paul live 5 times in my lifetime. He happens to also be my favorite Beatle though I love them all.
Mike Pachelli, once again, this is great! You are the best Beatle TH-cam guitarist/explainer. Keep these videos going Mike, they are absolutely wonderful and everyone else agrees. You are a gem
The interlocking of rhythms in this song, between all instruments (as always), but especially complex here between John and George. And the tone of the guitars, everything is perfect. In this video Mike manages a beautiful tone on the tele, very close to the original, so tubey and glassy, just breaking up. Congrats for everything Mike, you are the authority here on YT.
Amazing how George and Billy make this song seem so much more complex and daunting than the 3 chord nature buried beneath. Great video! Thanks for making this!
Mr Pachelli, I love your attention to detail, musical excellence! Thank you for taking the time. I'm 67 and have been playing these songs since the day they came out and you found stuff I never! Thank you👍🏼
It's stunningly amazing how you can take as diverse a population as exists on this planet and unite them under one idea , that The Beatles are absolutely the greatest band that ever and may ever exist. That is the true sign of geniuses at work. Right along side, da Vinci, Beethoven, or Einstein. You can take a person that knows nothing about the complexities of music and make them exclaim "WOW, that was beautiful". That's when you know that you have created something of value and significance for the world. Then you have Mike Pachelli, who can very carefully explain how they did it. That is a true master of their music. All the nuances of the craftsmanship in their songs would never be understood if someone like Mike didn't point them out and you begin to understand why the Beatles were the phenomenon that they were. The human ear and brain can tell the difference between a piece of music that was thrown together and one that was crafted with otherworldly talent. How many times has George Harrison brought just the perfect touches as a lead guitarist to a Lennon/McCartney masterpiece. Just the understated presents of his leads throughout the entire portfolio of the Beatles works is testament to his genius of beautifully crafted solos. And Ringo what another understated rhythm and solo artisan, without which the "sound" could have never been the same. His solos stand out as testament to a percussion that is as much a genius as Georges', just the perfect balance of accent and unique taste to carry the song to perfection. It's truly a miracle these four lads were brought together when they were.
Yes, I agree - talk about a perfect storm. It really is amazing how those particular people were the same age, were growing up in the same place, with the same sense of humour, same taste in music, and with so much talent, imagination and determination. Then, if you throw in Epstein's dedication and the fortuitous meeting with George Martin it becomes even more astonishing. I'm not superstitious, but you have to wonder sometimes. 😀
Brilliant comment and it bears spelling out, as too many people grossly oversimplify their work. We owe Mike a great debt; his niche knowledge renders him a real scholar of the subject, while his wonder before his subject is utterly contagious. So much for a '3 chord ditty'! Thank you for shining even more light upon the collective genius that originated from Liverpool.
This is a most incredible performance of one of my all time favorite Beatle songs! Thank you for the very important "War is Over!" poster. Peace and Love!
I really Love These Beatles Videos, your videos are for free so it's like your a cool uncle who teaches you all the beatles songs and knows so much about them! So great that it's documented and I can always play it back! Thank you mike, always excited go see a new one.
Mike!!! Where have you been all my life with these lessons?!?! New to the channel, and I did smash a like and the subscribe button. 🎉🎉🎉 Not too shabby TH-cam algorithm, not too shabby at all...
Clicked 'like' straight away and then spent the next 21 mins smiling! Great song from The Beatles, one of my faves. You're super cool Mike Pachelli! Thanks brother!
Man I got to say you do a fantastic job, I was a true Beatles fan back in the day, they were true musicians, and you are very talented, through hard work, love of music.... thanks
I remember watching the mike pachelli show on a local start up video channel in the early 80s called wtmv 32 out of central fla used to enjoy watching , good to see you still playing great music
Awesome, thanks Mike! Harrison is my favorite guitar player of all time, and he very quietly stood under the enormous ego shadow of the greatest song smiths of rock n roll and with the main attention diverted away he established himself as an absolute master! Even in the early years of the band Harrison was creating incredible main guitar and accompanying chords, riffs, and solos. It will no doubt sound odd, but in my humble, but totally correct opinion "Beatle" George is rock's most grossly under rated guitar player who also wrote some iconic songs while being near invisible! Jack ~'()'~ Canada
Bronzesnake - Thanks and I ABSOLUTLEY agree! The enormously beautiful solo George plays on "Til' There Was You" ALONE is enuff for a guitar player to rest on one's laurels. If you haven't seen it - do have a look at my homage to some of George's amazing guitar playing: th-cam.com/video/xJ0vCs-E5Bw/w-d-xo.html
Totally agree about the understated beauty of George's playing. After watching the Get Back session, it appeared Paul suggested that very clever verse lick, and George put it together masterfully.
I love the look on your face at the end when you realise you've actually done the vocals justice. Thanks for all these videos, I've learned an awful lot in a short time thanks to you. The funny thing is, when Let It be was first broadcast on the BBC in the UK, my elder brother recorded the film on reel-to-reel and it was being constantly played in our house, and the version of this song is the take where John flubs the second verse, singing what sounds like "Oneresrisi gatbibluyigoo" and for years that was the only version I knew (I was about seven, so this really stuck in my mind). Anyway, sorry for waffling on and thanks again!
I've played this before at parties and it typically gets people's attention being as iconic and recognizable a song as it is. But I mostly chunked through it laboriously by ear. Thanks for this post. Now I can perfect the George nuances - especially that middle walk down. I was playing it in a box and unnaturally forced the slides. Your method is more appealing and natural.
Mike Pachelli is my favourite music related channel on TH-cam, I just love the way he teaches, love how talented he is, and love his humour, great work!
Thank you Mike!!! I'm a high beginner/low intermediate player and this has always been a go-to for me because its easy to play and sing at the same time and fits my vocal range. The little fills you showed on the John part made my version of this ten times better. Thank you, love your channel.
I love Mike's lessons. With this song and singing it now we can tell how John's voice was amazing rough and beautiful. And Paul added his voice what a harmony. Thank you Mike for helping us to learn this beautiful song, one of my favorite songs from The Beatles.
Many thanks for this, Mike. GREAT lesson. George was a genius. 'One After 909' (the 'Rooftop' version, of course) is a also a superb example of his genius for miniimal, melodic playing.
Mike, that was beautifully demonstrated and explained, your videos have really progressed, especially with the great demo at the end. Excellent, and thank you. Hope this one brings you many new admirers, you deserve it. 👏
I'll never forget the first time I played this song on The Beatles Rock Band game, and now I'm learning it on the real guitar a little over a decade later. I love this song with a passion lol.
Again...thanks Mike for showing the world the genius guitar work between John and George. You are a very good player yourself and deserve a lot of credit for "breaking down in detail" these great Beatles tunes.
I started learning this great song a couple weeks ago from another TH-cam guitar teacher. What I’ve learned from your in depth tutorial is fantastic. Thank you.
Mike, grateful to you for the effort you make in explaining the Beatles. I keep discovering more & more & more following your teasing out the subtleties. Thank you. Thank you. Always been mesmerised by the chords at 19:40 & 19:55. Why do they move me so much ...??? Also, if John & Paul "despised" each other so much, why are they enjoying each other with clear affection on the Rooftop? I believed despite all, they all loved each other. Thanks again, Mike.
You're welcome and thanks for the kudos. Those chords are mesmerizing because the other chords are very plain (root, 3rd, 5th) and even the dominant 7th chords are subtly placed. But that major 7th chord at 19:40 is accented quite rightly. I wouldn't say John & Paul "despised" each other. Like any relationship - it has it's ups and downs. Add millions of dollars in to the equation and of course there's going to be tension. The press loves to focus on the negative. Let's focus on the positive - which is the music! And of course they loved each other!!
That was great Mike. They suerly were geniuses. They sound as good and as fresh today as the day I first heard them back in 1963 when I was in 7th grade.
Fabulous video! Incredible Harrison part, gorgeous voicing, funky snycopation and so original. Your lessons continually inspire me to expand my skills! Thanks, Mike.
Well done Mike, real cool. I will be working on this. I have been watching your videos for a while and they are getting good ,Thanks for all your great help and time you must put into this.
This man is your best bet if you’re an interested Beatles fan and want to learn the guitar parts , he’s a Beatles specialist
HE is VERY Good !!!
Beatleologist!
Totally agree.
He is so cool!!!! He should have been a BEATLE himself!!!
Absolutely I am sooooo friggin fortunate I found MikePachelli channel! Best thing to ever happen to TH-cam
The rooftop performance is sooooo fabulous. John's performance is electrifying.
All of them did
True dat, and Mr. Pachelli did a nice job, himself
There's something about the cold air and John's breath vapour - totally raw, totally alive sound.
I think they all knew it was the end of the road for them as a band, and so they poured their hearts and souls into that January rooftop performance. Come on, Paul, please release that movie on Blu-ray. Please!
I find it amazing especially since they were freezing cold. George warmed his fingers under a cigarette lighter at one point.
When it's dissected like this, one can see the geniuses at work even clearer.
irishguy13 amen brother !
Genius is making it look easy. (Even though it's not.)
He's a great teacher
Ok. This Pachelli version is the best tribute to The Beatles 'Don't Let Me Down' that I've ever heard. Yes I've heard others, but this one captures the passion like no other
Thanks Tellim! Those are very kind words indeed.
Yes, I agree, You blew me away with this, Very Well Done!
Wow Mike I gotta hand it to you, the best I've heard also . your playing guitar and singing is awesome !
Mike plays it like no other. The only difference is his voice. Bravo Mike! I always watch your video’s.
Damn, you nailed that tone.
My favourite Beatles song. Great work to spot John's use of the pick. George's playing is incredible. Macca’s bass is amazing. Ringo drums it out of the park. Cream on the cake is Preston's keys
His keys on the Let It Be Naked version are incredible.
Billy Preston!
Totally agree
Those keys send it through the atmosphere
He does the best cover I ever heard.
"Three chords and the truth." Yup, works every time! Thanks for sharing!
love the the way John forgets a line on the rooftop concert; also Billy does gorgeous keyboards; love John and Paul still singing harmony together that close to the breakup. George's custom tele...MIke, thanks for all your great posts !
Same I really love that part when he forgets the line and everyone has a little smile and a laugh😃
Music lessons are both aural and visual. Tabs/chord shapes on screen are of great help. May your generosity come back to you hundredfold. We appreciate your talent and efforts. Thanks ❤
The Beatles always had fun guitar parts ... thanks for bringing them back Mike !
He happens to also be my favorite Beatle though I love them all.
amazing how complex it is..yet sounds so simple. genius. much thanks.
Mike Pachelli, once again, this is great!
You are the best Beatle TH-cam guitarist/explainer. Keep these videos going Mike, they are absolutely wonderful and everyone else agrees. You are a gem
I concur wholeheartedly.
Best Beatles tutorials on the tube without a doubt
My daughter is gonna love trying this tune, it's her favorite Beatle's song! Thanks for sharing!
The interlocking of rhythms in this song, between all instruments (as always), but especially complex here between John and George. And the tone of the guitars, everything is perfect.

all i can say is that mike is a real guitar master..complete package..a very patient teacher with a fabulous range of hearing..thanks man..
Amazing how George and Billy make this song seem so much more complex and daunting than the 3 chord nature buried beneath. Great video! Thanks for making this!
Wonderful presentation --- great work -- especially the George Harrison parts -- Great cover. I am very impressed.
Mr Pachelli, I love your attention to detail, musical excellence! Thank you for taking the time. I'm 67 and have been playing these songs since the day they came out and you found stuff I never! Thank you👍🏼

Very good comment. However, one small point. they weren't 'brought' together.
This is right on the money. When you do the whole song you sound just like John. Ringo should have you on his all Starr band. Congrats
Edward - Thanks and yeah - do give Ringo a call on my behalf! ;-)
This is a most incredible performance of one of my all time favorite Beatle songs! Thank you for the very important "War is Over!" poster. Peace and Love!
I ditto this comment

Mike,
This is definitely the best lesson of this song out there. All kudos to you for your fantastic effort.🎸👍👍
A guitar musican can't go wrong learning the Beatles songbook. It's really cool seeing, and learning how, George compliments John's driving rhythms.
Clicked 'like' straight away and then spent the next 21 mins smiling! Great song from The Beatles, one of my faves. You're super cool Mike Pachelli! Thanks brother!

Another great song and lesson. George had so cool musical ideas with licks and solos that gave the songs an unique touch.
Cor! Mike, you are brilliant!! I can listen to you all day.
Have wanted to know that George run down in the verse for a LONG TIME! Amazing sir!
I've played this before at parties and it typically gets people's attention being as iconic and recognizable a song as it is. But I mostly chunked through it laboriously by ear. Thanks for this post. Watching Them do this song on the roof top video still gives me goose bumps after all these years...Just love it Mike Thanks.
Nicely done - love the way GH tips his hat to Hendrix's rhythm style and solof from Wind Cries Mary
Just love your gig. A one man Beatles.
Thank you Mike!!! I'm a high beginner/low intermediate player and this has always been a go-to for me because its easy to play and sing at the same time and fits my vocal range. The little fills you showed on the John part made my version of this ten times better. Thank you, love your channel.
Hi John - so glad I could be of some assistance!
The best Beatles source for musicians by far....
As always, fabulous! Would love to hear you do a tutorial on Hey Bulldog
Mike-once again you are just fabulously 100% true!!! Thank you for teaching the truth. Yours ears are ears of gold. Fabulous!!!
You are most welcome and thanks for those VERY kind words!
Outstanding lesson Mike! I love it!
I love Mike's lessons. With this song and singing it now we can tell how John's voice was amazing rough and beautiful. And Paul added his voice what a harmony. Thank you Mike for helping us to learn this beautiful song, one of my favorite songs from The Beatles.
One of my favourite Beatles song of all time. Simple but great!
Outstanding lesson. This is one of my all time favorite songs. And now I can’t stop playing it. 🙏
Yes Mike! Great tune! Keep up the Beatles tutorials they are the best!
Simply brilliant. You're unassuming, yet so perceptive. Thanks for the lesson, it's making a big difference in my playing!
The bass part is incredible as well!
Nice job explaining some of the nuisances in the three basic chords.
Didnt realize that after all these years. Thank you sir!!
Just perfect - the singing part and all instruments. Thank you so much.
Brilliant Mike. Thanks for opening out this classic. Appreciate it even more.
I'll never forget the first time I played this song on The Beatles Rock Band game, and now I'm learning it on the real guitar a little over a decade later. I love this song with a passion lol.
I’ll have to look at this later, this is awesome, I haven’t seen anyone appreciate this song before, very nice
Great song, one of my favourites Beatles song. Its just amazing!!! Thank you for that little pearl.
Great lesson Mike. I really love this song and have never quite been able to pull off George's parts...till now! Thanks brother.
What a good And spontaneous and complete job, Mike!
I had to stop midway just to go listen to Billy Preston’s keyboards. Mike’s enthusiasm shines!
Hard work, Mike! And great results as always...THANK YOU!
You done it good. Thanks Mike.
Thanks, Mike. Great teaching. You're making the world a better place!
Brilliant Mike you nailed it as good as the original

The two-part harmony works so well. Thanks for your patient understanding. I'm getting closer to trying these musical parts.
Been watching you for years. You are so helpful and a genuine teacher. Thanks man.
AND you were great Mike, great chords congratulations I enjoyed all the way through
Thank you for the great lesson, appreciate all the effort you put into these breakdowns.
You are awesome Mike! Fabulous work here!
Well thanks again .for showing some extra bits ..when playing this song.

You gotta love the history lessons as much as the music.....well done my man!
MP, you're just killin' it!!!
Thank you.
Thank You! really nice guitar TONE! and really good voice and great Teaching.
Mike, grateful to you for the effort you make in explaining the Beatles. I keep discovering more & more & more following your teasing out the subtleties. Thank you. Thank you.

I wouldn't say John & Paul "despised" each other. Like any relationship - it has it's ups and downs. Add millions of dollars in to the equation and of course there's going to be tension. The press loves to focus on the negative. Let's focus on the positive - which is the music! And of course they loved each other!!
@@MPfrance thank you for taking the time to reply. And thank you for your enthusiasm for good music. Kind regards. George.
WOW!!!! THANK YOU, VERY MUCH, MIKE!!! YOUR LESSONS, AND INSIGHTS ARE SO HELPFUL!!!! SOUNDS AWESOME!!!
Glad you think so!
Thanks Mike, good work!
That was great Mike. They suerly were geniuses. They sound as good and as fresh today as the day I first heard them back in 1963 when I was in 7th grade.
Amazing lesson!
Truly gifted Teacher...
❤
Great lesson from a great musician...thanks!
I’m so happy I found this channel. I’m so angry TH-cam’s algorithms took THIS long to get me here. You’re great, Mike. Thanks for doing these.
So enjoy your videos, Mike!
Great job Mike. My Favorite Beatles songs are All of them. Love your instructional Videos. The Best man.
Fabulous video! Incredible Harrison part, gorgeous voicing, funky snycopation and so original. Your lessons continually inspire me to expand my skills! Thanks, Mike.
Mike excellent! Well explained you took out the mystery of playing this simple song!
Well done Mike, real cool. I will be working on this. I have been watching your videos for a while and they are getting good ,Thanks for all your great help and time you must put into this.
