I’ve been strutting around for the past two days and you just cut me down to size! I caught a 34” PB ling at Cape Mendocino on the Lost Cost on Sunday. Yours is a beast! Well done Adam. And that cabazon is amazing. Well done Ling King!
I caught a Cabezon bigger than that once....season was closed, I cried a little when I put it back. At least I got a pic of it (the deck hand wanted a pic of it, too...). Nothing I could keep has even come close. Those were some monster Vermillion, too. Well done!!
Those were amazing fish Adam, congrats to you! Wish I lived closer because I really miss going out and spending time out on the water. Thing I always liked about ocean fishing is, you just don't know what you are bringing up until it gets close to the surface. It's such a thrill !
The oxygen and nitrogen expands in its air bladder causing it to float when brought up from any depth over 80 to 100 ft . lings,Cabbys and Halibut don't have an air bladder but most of the Rockfish do. I used to fish commercial shallow water rockfish and to keep them alive to sell I had to "POP" them . lol
Well done , outstanding results .Surely making up for the previous video . The cabezon was truly a learning experience . I had to look up the correct spelling !
I hope this isn't your last trip to this spot!! You should come here with the monkey face eels. I would LOVE to see that fishing experience on your next video. PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT VIDEO Adam.
Nice rockfishing day Adam. I love shallow water rock fishing for that same reason. You can release fish and there still okay. Are you fishing in your hometown area? Or Bay Area?
Nice. Although you can release fish that have barotrauma. Just barely hook them and then send them back down. Once they get back to depth, just give a small jerk and they usually pop off. The swim bladder deflates once back at depth so all good.
17:25 So do you guys not de-gas fish when you bring them up from deeper? It's commonly done when freshwater catfishing if you're fishing deep like that, you bring them up slow and allow them to gas off (bubble), then you can release them with no harm done. Or does that just not work for marine fish.
Great videos. Inspiring for sure for someone who wants to learn. Side note, why do you have the blue buoy floating in the water? I’ve seen it in other videos. Thanks
In Washington state we are required to use a desending ingredients device to release the rockfish back to the bottom when the swim bladder puffs up. And we are not alowed to fish deeper than 120 feet.
wish it was like this in California, at least the decent gear being required, its sad to see deckhands and people on charters throwing back fish that are very clearly just going to die and get eaten by birds
Wow you caught some huge fish, that spot is the keeper maybe because is less fish on and the fish really gets big. Thank you for the video and I will check nick for the underwater footage.
Just for future information ling cod will not show up on your fishfinder because they do not have an air bladder that is what you’re usually getting your return signal
Would love it if you showed the stomach contents of those big fish, Lot to learn from what they munch on. One time I checked contents after the day on some brown rockfish, found shrimp in all the bellies. Next trip i had raw shrimp and shrimp imitation lures. It was FIRE!
Listen to Nick talking smack on Alaska lol. Seriously tho, 35” is MINIMUM size for retention on Lingcod up here. My biggest is 51lbs and twenty plus over 30.
2021 Alaska ling regs has some unique slot limits. depending on whether your a resident or non resident. Basically for tourism ( non residents of the state get two fish) with a slot limit that includes 1 that must be over 55 inches. The second for a tourist is 30-35 or 30-45 depending on the location( typically deep or shallow water location) and must be recorded immediately. Also If a Caption and crew takes out Guests the caption and crew "MAY NOT RETAIN LINGCOD" while the clients are onboard the vessel.
Yeah I’m an Alaska resident. Lingcod season is July 1 to December 31, 1 per day 1 in possession, minimum 35” with head on or 28” with head removed. Charter regs don’t apply to me.
Adam, epic trip man. Congrats! Qq for you.. what is your time/swell size/area criteria for kayak? I have a 14 ft boat with 9.9 motor and usually it’s too rough to safely go. I see when you go it’s pretty calm.
Brother you had a good day out there. Being from Louisiana I’ve never seen the fish you caught. I’ve heard of them but they don’t live down here. It was good that you let that red fish go if there aren’t many of them
Adam, you slayed those rockfish! Better bag than on a charter boat!
It was an epic day for sure!!!!
Actually you can release deep water rockfish with a descending devise with equalizes the fish and auto releases at a pre determine depth.
you can also make your own simple descending device inexpensively that works just as well, th-cam.com/video/A1gft9nEFCI/w-d-xo.html
When the barotrauma enters the eyes, though, that fish is toast even if returned to depth.
Not many party boats have them. I only know two guys that have them on private boats so far!
Have to have one to fish rock in Washington, that being said 25% survival rate
Fish really shallow too. I don't fish deeper than 50 feet for rockfish and there's minimum barotrauma
You guys are so pro, relaxed, skilled and knowledgeable, thanks for keeping it real and respecting the fish that are older than your combined ages.

34" is a beast too! Congrats on the big ling!

That smile says it all, nice fishing there, persistence and hard work pay off 👍👍
That's gotta be one of your most positive days on the water! Great fish!
Your catch of fish 🐟 is awesome! The biggest rockfish I that I ever was a 25 lb. Cow Cod 90 miles out, back in 1972. Yea, I'mma geezer.
Congrats on catching two cod-zillas! That was fun to watch. 🎣
Thanks 👍
That is like one of the best day's ever rock fishing I've ever seen, Congrats!
Picked up my first kayak this weekend. Can't wait to get out there and catch some fish.
Good luck and stay safe!
@@DieHardFishing thanks. My PFD hasn't gotten here yet so I've only been able to look at it for almost a week.
Wow, that fish is big, my friend, congratulations.
Wooow, such a great sizes, huge nice catch, love to watch you have them, super day fishing like this, wisht see your other harvest more and often ...
That's a heck of a day Adam, great work! 👏👏
Time on the water, you have definitely figured it out. Good work man.
Great job Adam!!! 👏 that's an awesome day out there!
Big red 1 keeper is plenty letting the 2nd go is being a good fisherman allowing him/her to keep the population up! That is a great spot!

When you set the hook and the fish jerks back harder you know it's a big one!
Adam can always manage to catch big fish. Very happy for you.
Some people are fish magnets!
Well done , outstanding results .Surely making up for the previous video . The cabezon was truly a learning experience .
I had to look up the correct spelling !
Thanks 👍
I hope this isn't your last trip to this spot!! You should come here with the monkey face eels. I would LOVE to see that fishing experience on your next video. PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT VIDEO Adam.
That is a good idea!!!!
Thanks for letting that second one go. Seriously monster fish for the area.
Nice rockfishing day Adam. I love shallow water rock fishing for that same reason. You can release fish and there still okay. Are you fishing in your hometown area? Or Bay Area?
OMG Adam you certainly bagged some very nice groceries today epic video. Very nice day on the ocean so calm. Stay safe out there. Aloha from Kansas.
Thanks Martin!

Can you cast net smelt or anchovy that the birds are feeding on?
I remember back in the 60's up at Salt Point SP and seeing the 50-60# Lings hanging next to a camp site.
What brand rod are you using in this video?
They are in his description!

no need if they can swim down on their own. None of these fish showed symptoms of barotrauma. We use a descending device when necessary.
Great videos. Inspiring for sure for someone who wants to learn. Side note, why do you have the blue buoy floating in the water? I’ve seen it in other videos. Thanks
Very nice catch Adam 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
EPIC!!!! I love the action on that Lamiglas when you hooked that Big Ling awesome! I might buy one for that price 👍
Congrats Adam. Many smiles from Adam in this video!
Epic Day of fishing my friend. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Whats the blue floater you have on the back?
Wow that was quite a day for you. It was fun to watch and prolly 100 times more fun for you.
That's a nice fishing trip. Beautiful cabazon. I have not caught aone for sometime. It is ony lost this year. Good luck and safe fishing Adam.
Thanks 👍

Yes I would love to see that here in CA too!!!!
how do you check the water conditions in the bay before you go fishing ?
I use a bunch of different sites to get an idea of how the weather will be but I always reevaluate once I get to the water
What kind of kayak is the orange kayak
A fishing trip that dreams are made of! 👍❤👌
Thanks for sharing! Nice video!
if you wouldn’t mind,
show a video of your depth finder display detailing the pinnacle and drop off.( future video …)
Amazing catches, congrats!
I doubt you marked the cabby and ling on your fish finder since they stay on the bottom but definitely the vermilion and maybe a few other things
Wow you caught some huge fish, that spot is the keeper maybe because is less fish on and the fish really gets big. Thank you for the video and I will check nick for the underwater footage.
can you do a video on how you setup your live bait rig and other rigs
Been waiting for this one after watching Nick's video!
Just for future information ling cod will not show up on your fishfinder because they do not have an air bladder that is what you’re usually getting your return signal
wooaaah interesting information...
Good point. Rockfish will show up though
Good to know!
That's a pretty epic day of fishing. You got THREE PBs!!! I really hope you Taxidermy those fish to memorialize this day.
Awesome video..!! Fantastic day fishing 🎣.!!!! Great 👍🏻 job ..!!!!
That was a hell of a day of fishing. Like know joke you put the hurt on em.
It was a good day for sure!
That’s one great day for sure! Interestingly it looked a lot more calm out on your video compared to Nick’s. Props on releasing on that big verm!
Would love it if you showed the stomach contents of those big fish, Lot to learn from what they munch on. One time I checked contents after the day on some brown rockfish, found shrimp in all the bellies. Next trip i had raw shrimp and shrimp imitation lures. It was FIRE!
Noted! The ling had an empty stomach but the cab had two big rock crab in the stomach
What a fun video and bonus Nick's smack talking!😂
You need to do what Nattie Up North channel did and go to Los Bozos Resort Panama, in Cambutal, Pamana and fish with Robert Field. EPIC!
Listen to Nick talking smack on Alaska lol. Seriously tho, 35” is MINIMUM size for retention on Lingcod up here. My biggest is 51lbs and twenty plus over 30.
Nick was so funny!

Rule #2 simply states only guests keep lings on a charter operation.

you guys have lings that can eat our lings
What a great day! As Nick says, "WOW"!
Nick loves getting super close as soon as you catch a fish 😂😂
Is this near San Francisco, I would love to try this with my friend in the future.
Those are crazy looking fish, that red.
What an awesome vid. You should be so pumped after catching those great fish. That's a trip of a lifetime off a kyak

Nice work as always Adam! Love that cabby 🤙
Adam, epic trip man. Congrats! Qq for you.. what is your time/swell size/area criteria for kayak? I have a 14 ft boat with 9.9 motor and usually it’s too rough to safely go. I see when you go it’s pretty calm.
Amazing day on the water, Adam you killed it!
Got the gaff down clinical. congratulations on the epic day
Productive day on the water today indeed.✌️😎
That Hookset was really satisfying to watch
You definitely got us all pumped up with this one!
You should get some of those underwater shots from your homie! Would be pretty sweet!
Spectacular ling. Congratulations
Using a fish decender is an effective way to successfully release rockfish caught in deep waters. Nice job on the release!!
Nicely done ✅ epic day!! 🇺🇸🎣
you found the lunker hole for sure.
great video
Adam you killed it. I guess those out of the way places pay off. Good for you, I was hoping Nick would catch a big red. Maybe next time.
Maybe next time!
@@DieHardFishing Just saw Nick's video, he had a great day as well, guess I spoke to soon, lol..... Great stuff from both of you.
Nice catch Adam🤙 Truly a huge Beast. Well done Sir.
Awesome man !! Great day on the water
5:11 fish tries to pull the boat in😂
I like the action of your rod? What brand is it??
I caught 10 lbs Red on Sea Wolf with a 10 oz Diamond jig on the trip to the Island.
Link in the description!
Hi guys great fish tell me what is that blue thing behind you floating
I was holding my breath the whole time worrying about the rod breaking. Wow thats a big Ling!!!
That is one beautiful red rock fish!!!
Awesome video one of my favorites.
Thanks for another nice video
Adams’s hook sets are some of the best
Swing for the fences!
WOW! Better put that spot on saved locations! 😎👍
Bravo. Nice job. Good eats
Nice red. I went on a red drought for over 15 years. I take my kid out on his first trip and he nails two!
Beginners luck!
Adam is killing it out there 💪💪💪
Quality fish & those were monstrous Lingcod, Cabazon & Vermillion! Congrats! Were you using a trap rig? How did Nick do?
Yes! Nick's vid is on his channel!
We're is this state you fishing from ?
Aloha, that’s a fine stringer. Nice job.
Brother you had a good day out there. Being from Louisiana I’ve never seen the fish you caught. I’ve heard of them but they don’t live down here. It was good that you let that red fish go if there aren’t many of them
I would love to fish Louisiana sometime!
Love the hook sets, look like walleye spawning hook sets in Minnesota.
Would love to try walleye fishing sometime!
Nice day of fishing 👌
Super nice day bro, you were blessed by the fishing gods that day
