We keep getting the report that Charles is very fast on a single lap pace, so how many pole positions has he had in his first 7 years against Hamilton first 7 years? What record has he as against Hamilton to compare with? Has Charles taken on any driver who had 22 seconds lead to win the Race? Has Charles won any race starting at the back of the grid?
So what actually makes him so fast? If not media hype.

Surely Leclerc has to remain their No1 driver in fact I think it's a big mistake and one that will only hurt the team in general signing Hamilton, he's got a couple of years left in him maybe. Would they truly risk losing Leclerc just to appease Hamilton.

I think Lewis is a bit past his best version, and I would say Charles will best him overall this season, I hope Charles takes this opportunity to learn from a modern great, because he is for sure not the best version he can be of himself (Charles). I think Hamilton will fit it well and will be a commercial success for Ferrari.
Charles is a very fast and talented driver who just needs to polish a few rough edges.
I personally believe Carlos can perform as well as Lewis at this stage of his carrier (Lewis), and it's a shame for the smooth operator whom is a great guy and ambassador for the sport, but Lewis comes with plenty of appealing extras !! Good luck to all the drivers competing in F1 this year.
Ferrari should set Leclerc in the first stints during the practice sessions, using the single car from previous seasons until each driver is introduced to their new redheaded lady, the SF-25, the name used by the staff in the Scuderia. Leclerc is familiar with the driving characteristics of these past redheads, and they could gain more data this way.

Unfortunately, just like George Russell did, Charles will only further distinguish Hamiltons legacy by also outperforming him.

Leclerc will be faster but Hamilton will be more consistent and less prone to mistakes. Should be an interesting battle for sure.

@ Testing is often the time to search the limits of a vehicle and yes, sometimes you crash. This isn't something new.
Wisdom versus enthusiasm. One heck of a combo and all on one team. It will be exciting to watch this season if Ferrari can give them the car they need to win.

charles just isent very good , always bins it when he has a chance at a win ... we seen it 100 times now , so maybe back the guy with 7 world champ wins .. lol its obvious and he wont be there forever so just let him lead then after charles will maybe be mature enough at that point
I believe Charles only issue is the emotions, once he deals with that and learns from the great Hamilton he will continue to improve as an all round driver as he has been doing.
Leclerc has had lots of bad luck also that was not in his control. The team makes stupid mistakes.

LeClerc has already lost his #1 position just with the arrival of Hamilton. LeClerc has won 8 gps vs 105 for Lewis and 7(8) WDCs. And he has tons of experience and things that the team hopes Hamilton will download to LeClerc. To think they would keep LeClerc #1 is absurd. LeClerc can become their #1 driver if he consistently outperforms Lewis but there is ZERO doubt that Lewis is now the team leader in Ferrari’s mind.
Lewis will be marketing and Charles will be #1. 6 wins for Charles and 2 for Lewis in last 3 years.
