From his early days in karting to dominating with Mercedes, and now his move to Ferrari for 2025, his career has been filled with success, controversy, and defining moments.
After winning his first title with McLaren in 2008, Hamilton made the bold move to Mercedes in 2013. What followed was an era of dominance, winning six more championships and breaking records once thought untouchable. But the last few years have been challenging. Since 2021, Hamilton has struggled against Red Bull and Max Verstappen. Mercedes failed to deliver a competitive car, and for the first time in his career, he went two seasons without a win.
Now, he is making one of the biggest moves in F1 history by joining Ferrari in 2025. Can he bring Ferrari its first championship since 2007, or is this a risk that could end his career without an eighth title?

The term "generational talent" is thrown around all too loosely these days but in Hamilton's case it's entirely appropriate. The guy has been an absolute monster through every part of his career and though in an apparent decline you still can't put the improbable beyond his reach.

@@only_revved_up it would be more unusual to quit at your peak than to slowly fade towards the end, that's how all the surviving legends aside from Stewart have gone out. I just hope he doesn't hang around beyond ferrari, live the dream but know when it's time to wake up.

@ no. He doesn’t expect to either. However, I’m positive he will be a key player in Leclerc’s growth and together they will certainly be up for comfortably winning some constructors titles for Marinello.
@ he is also a gentleman. He massively respects Michael Snr and I think the two of them would be comfortable jointly holding (what I believe to be) an unbreakable record now with at least 3 other potential champions currently racing against each other for the next decade..

He’s no doubt the GOAT. He has three more total years of racing and must win his 8th title in 2025 or 2026. Events if he fails to win the crown I hope he wins multiple races for Ferrari. He will still be the GOAT if he does not win 8th driving championship. He still leads all drivers in wins & pole positions by a wide margin! Simply the best!!!

You've got a great voice and presentation skills so I'm now subbed up - really on point video with the whole 'washed up' vs 'best is yet' heated online debates around Hamilton. Personally? I feel like although his off-track ways are not my cup of tea (a very british expression haha!) his driving is awesome and I want to see him officially get the 8th title he clearly would already otherwise have and take the top step as the all time greatest driver on record.

I think Hamiltons legacy will evolve similarly to Vettel. Everyone will complain while he’s winning and still driving but as soon as he leaves people will begin finally recognising his ability and achievements. Too many people downplay his talent, purely attributing his success to Mercedes’ success.

I've seen numerous ridiculous comments about Lewis Hamilton. And in most cases, these people are clueless of what Motorsports Competition is all about. I call it a Calculated Gamble. I love both Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc. I wish for both drivers to win at least 1 Championship Titles before their term is up. But here is the situation. Ferrari needs to win a Championship at all cost after such a long drought. They love Carlos Sainz Jr. but something has to give and it is unfortunate that he end up being the fall guy. It's a 50/50 chance gamble but the 7 Time World Champion is finally available. People got to realize. There is a big difference between being the fastest and winningest driver and a driver that simply knows what it takes to win a Formula 1 World Championship. And that leaves Lewis Hamilton as the only choice.

For me his good driver with good instincts.When Mclaren finished he went for Mercedes.And now his know rn Mercedes situation and left them for bottlers Ferrari,but ambition alredy we know and last season their was so close for first in Constructors.

because he's at the end of his career. Most drivers at his age start to slowly loose it and begin to get outshone by younger drivers like how vettel was outshone by leclerc, how schumacher was outdone by rosberg and how lauda was outshone by prost. Just the nature of the sport as older drivers start to age out and loose something, newer drivers come in and take their place. still doesnt demean how incredible they all were at their peak

Cant keep up with younger drivers. I think is crazy. He had a bad season in 2024 i admit. But if it were any other driver, itd be seen as a pretty good season. 2022 he was testing with different set ups. 2023, he actually fucked up everyone bar redbull
Hamilton is great, no doubt. But GOAT?. He had the best car for nearly a decade and faced almost zero internal competition. True legends are defined by overcoming adversity, not just winning in the best machine. Senna, Alonso, and Verstappen had to fight their way to titles, while Hamilton had an easy ride for most of his championships.

Max won 2 WDC despite haveing fast car on grid and we all know what Alonso did with ferrari in 2010 and 2012. What’s fanaticism have to do with fairness? Nothing, as fanaticism is highly partisan, which means unreasoned allegiance to your beliefs, which is very applicable in this discussion. You would have to be totally delusional not to understand just how great Hamilton is, and was throughout his career, as he has only been beaten for the Championship once by a teammate who is in the same equipment he was, that should tell you everything you need to know. And remember, Nico Rosberg retired immediately afterwards, the effort to win over a Hamilton was mentally and physically debilitating, as I’m sure Leclerc will learned too, if Leclerc is to win the championship over Hamilton too!
Lewis Hamilton is not as good as this guy think! The only way LH can win is if he has a teammate that will block for him and slow up to let him into the lead . His teammate VB Valtteri Bottas He even said so , was told to slow down in qualifying and to pull over to let LH by for the win. In my opinion a better F1 driver then LH. Better Qualifying, Starts, Passing, He could of been Champ if Mercedes gave him a chance . He was hired to help LH to become Champ. By the way LH lost in2021 was because his engineer told Lh to stay out on old tires when max came in and got new shoes.
Leclerc is a team player so that shouldn’t be a problem, but Ferrari strategy that might be a tricky one 😆
