When it comes to lake tanganyikan fish, this is the best channel hands down mate👍🏻Also a quick report, my multifasciatus shellies are doing great! I think I may have 2 pair in the tank 2 are larger and the other 2 are quite small, and that’s how they hang big and small left side, and the same on the right. Thanks again Jason, one of these days I will get my altolamprologus, not sure the variety yet, but I’m liking the looks of the gold face👍🏻🙂
Cheers for the kind words mate, glad you're enjoying the channel! That is great to hear too, definitely sounds like you have 2 pairs in your tank. Won't be long before you have hundreds of Multies in the tank. Oh yes the gold head comps are beautiful. I would like to get my hands on them one day!
I just picked up 4 Congo Black Calvus this morning I had ordered in. So excited to get them into the new home! I love following your channel. So many great Tang tanks!
My favorite fish of all time I breed them also I take fry I put in breeding box then I move them to bigger tank ..thanks for sharing I love your channel ❤
Great video once again Jason! I’m probably going to have to buy another good sized tank! Have roughly 75-80 Leleupi fry about 7 weeks old! Still in with their parents who have not spawned since, so it’s time to take action! Multis are doing just that too! Multiplying like crazy!
Thanks Charles, glad you enjoyed the video mate. That is fantastic to hear, lots of fry with your leleupi and multies! Definitely think you should get more tanks! And yeah you will get more spawning action then.
Hey guys! An announcement! I finally have an instagram page. instagram.com/jasonscichlids/ not much on there yet but I am going to be posting there frequently moving forward.
Hey Jason love the video 👍🏼 My lfs has a few black neolamprologus Tetracanthus in at the moment, I’m thinking about grabbing some they look amazing. I can’t find too much information on them though, do you have any experience with them?
G'day mate, glad you enjoyed the video. Oh nice, I do recommend tetracanthus! I bred them by the bucket loads when I was a teenager! Because of that they are very nostalgic to me. One of my fave Tanganyikan Cichlids. They are not that difficult to breed. Buy a group of juveniles and grow them up together and a pair will form. Just make sure you have enough tanks available to handle the amount of fry they will give you!
@@JasonsCichlids hey, thanks for the response. I’ve picked a few of them up. Do you think it’s a species you would ever get again? I’d love to see them in your videos
@@Ethdawg Nice one, glad you're going to give them a try. I have given it some serious thought as I have seen then for sale occasionally and there is that nostalgia of having them again. But I probably won't for a while. There are so many other cichlids that I have never kept before that I want to give a go.
Hello Jason I've seen some of you calvuses videos even from 2014 and older and have learn to take care of mine so thanks for that. I would like to know where you located?
For African Cichlids, most rocks are said to be fine as long as you don't have them in water that has a pH below 7. I would avoid anything metallic looking and avoid Pyrite (Fools Gold). It is said to have a strong acid effect on water and because of that can unlock heavy metals into the water from the rock. A trick I have seen people do is to drop a small drop of acid on the rock in question. If it bubbles then its not safe, if nothing happens, it's said to be ok. (I have personally never tried this though). That said, I am by no means very knowledgeable on rocks so I highly recommend you do more research if you are unsure if your rocks are aquarium safe.

Hello Jason, every fish tank is an experiment. This will end for sure in good results. Just in case.. touch wood (in Italy we touch iron)
Thanks for the well wishes Matteo. Hopefully all goes well!

Hello there, sorry but you might have me confused with someone else as I only started my channel back in 2019. I am in Sydney Australia.
what type of rocks do use for ypur cichlid fish sir?
It is just grey slate
@@JasonsCichlids ah ok. is thier any rocks or pebbles that i should avoid to put in cichlids tank?

@@JasonsCichlids thank you. i might just stay with the grey slate rock just to be safe or try the acid test. thanks once again for your answer.
