  • My definition of "quick" might not fall in line with others. But I've got you know, things to say. I call these a "quickview" because it covers unboxing and initial testing. It does not speak to durability, longevity, etc.
    Here we have the subject in question, the Team Ottsix Kryptonite Customs 2.2" USD Stickies. These are not small tires. These are not light tires. These are not cheap tires. But are they good enough to justify that cost?

    Today's crawler vids have been a lot about feel.
    The new rubber looks epic. Shame they're so expensive here in Australia. They'd be perfect on my wraith.
    I use dish soap and a toothbrush to freshen the rubber up. Makes them super sticky.

    They look to be climbing good! Alot better then those showdowns. And they were bought and sent to u? Wow!👍 That's cool. And those r the ones that I would run. Cool video 👍

    Just brilliant. I run duratrax deepwoods on my 4ws Capra and they are without doubt the best I've tried to date. John

      I think the Deep Woods are my overall favorite, because they're so cheap, and they work sooooo good. What's not to like?

    I love the klr’s.. I have the green compound.. and that’s supposed to b the bouncy tire.. red 2.2 is soft and more for crawling. And that’s from the site. U also get what u pay for… and I run 2.2’s on my Capra.. but it’s stretched and sets just as low as my lcg on 4.75’s.. but it’s all n the set up as well.. u can use simple green and spray them down and brush them with a toothbrush.. wipe off and it gets rid of the release agents..also will make them even stickier.. just stuff I’ve learned 🤷‍♂️

    Another great tire review. We really appreciate the time & effort you put into your videos. Whether it's "name brand" crap, "no-name" gold or vice versa you give a genuine unbiased review.
    Do you wash/clean tires straight out of the package? My Injora Bully Comps showed up this afternoon and the inside of the bag was green from mold release or something. I washed them with Blue Dawn and immediately felt a difference.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Clean or prep? OF COURSE NOT! They're unmounted right now, so I'm gonna give them some attention before they go back on wheels (I had to steal the wheels for this video.). While I have a surplus of 1.9s, I guess I need at least one more set of 2.2s.

    • @JPWirt
      @JPWirt ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CrawlerCanyon, I scored some narrow aluminum 2.2s off a buddy and they fit those Injora Bully Comps AND my "Ms. Direction" perfectly! They're only 25mm wide. He said he got them from Ebay.

    Have a set of 1.9 voodoo Klr-m, I agree team ottsix has some of the best quality tires. Ive struggled tryin to mount prolines on beadlocks before.

    Do you realize you single handedly just made KLR's go out of stock, figuratively speaking at the moment. I expect they will very soon though. If I had the dime I'd drop it on these tires and give them a go. The rocks I mess around on typically like very soft compound tires. I'm using the Austar's at the moment and they are very well scrubbed in and climb/side hill like mad. I'm not sure why everyone puts them down because I love them. If I love the Austar's then I know for sure I'd love the KLR's in the 1.9/4.75 size. That was a generous thing for the viewer to do, sending you those tires. Just be aware that we all love your videos even if we can't support your channel in that way.

    Yessir! My favorite tire on my Ryft Crawler. They don't perform the best out of all the setups I've got for mine but they 100% look the best on the Ryft. You never said if you got the Red compound or green??? Maybe I missed it.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are the Vex Red compound. They definitely live up to the mfr. description of "incredibly aggressive tread pattern."

      @@CrawlerCanyon absolutely! Even though they don't perform the best they rarely ever leave my Ryft lol I actually cut the smaller lugs out of them and they improved significantly.

    You should try the 1.9 with anti-foam single stage from 3brc i have them on a trx4 and they're wonderful
    Keep the great work
    Ps the anti-foam change everything for me they're that great

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว

      I continue to resist anti-foams, because I'm holding onto the idea that "ignorance is bliss." I have around 30 sets of mounted tires, and I don't think I could pick the favorite child that would get the wildly expensive anti-foams. I'm a committed "these included foams are pretty good" guy, or at most, " these Amazon dual stage are pretty good too" guy.
      I physically cannot make myself pay more for foams than I paid for the tires.

    Those seem to be doing a great job for you. They look fantastic on the rig and seem to be getting better the more you run them. I'd love to see how they compare to the showdowns and the bully comps on the ramp :) They are some big chongas in the weight department though lol.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I almost couldn't believe when that number popped up on the scale. That "incredibly aggressive tread pattern" is heavy. Almost 1/3rd of this rig's weight is wheels/tires. CRAZY.

    hi , it took me at least 4-5 battery packs before i broke my Stickies in - it is a lot of tire to break in - and as well on a 13-14 lbs rig - they get better and better with time - this tire is the king of grab and claw on very terain i tried it on .on another note - is it possible to put underdrive gears in the center diff and get more reduction ?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After putting in the read UD, I did the math on the FDR, and it would have pushed it to right at 40:1-- better, but I'm not sure enough to spend another 40 bucks.
      Also, that thing is happening where I'm collecting all the parts to build another complete set of Ryft axles-- I'm a little past halfway.
      So what I'm doing is looking REAL close at that gearbox. I think with a 50:1 final (or thereabouts) this thing could be maybe perfect (for crawling, that is.)

    • @jimbocreationsbu8203
      @jimbocreationsbu8203 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CrawlerCanyon oh ,with these new tires you're just about perfect giving the fact that you will most likely tune it and improve it ,so can't wait to see more 👍
      Did you think about trying the trx4 gearbox they line up beter with the diffs less driveshaft issue and good low gear

  • @fishnrc294

    I just replaced the foams in my TRX High Sierra and the originals where just plain sad. I could’ve made some myself better then that. I have Injora foams now in a heavier compound because it’s a heavy RC even stock & with the stock ones you couldn’t even turn because they would just fold over & now that I have metal beadlocks even more so. I have this thing for metal beadlocks preferably anidizoed ones. It’s the first thing I buy & usually before or a few runs in have them on. Don’t even get me started on Shift RC’s wheels. All I have to say is WOW! If you can find them in stock!

  • @fishnrc294
    @fishnrc294 ปีที่แล้ว

    What kind of bike because I’ve been a mountain biker for years & tires are 60 plus range for one. I always run Maxxis & the super tacky tires are heavier & more expensive & wear out quick hmmm sounds familiar.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've got a Ritchey Swiss Cross, A Cervelo R3, and a disc-brake SS I built up during "the COVID times." So I get away with paying a little less for the Ritchey and the SS-- the tires are smaller, but big enough to avoid the "roadie tax." I've been running 700x35 Hutchinson Overides on the Ritchey, sometimes I can luck out at 80 a pair. I run 700x32 Conti GP5000s on the single-speed, but like I said-- I know a guy, so I'm not paying a hundred bucks a pop. The 700x25s on the Ritchey last me 2k miles, usually 1500-1800 for the rear tires, so I buy "whatever's tubeless."
      Life is too short to ride on crappy tires. I absolutely loved the Pirelli Cinturato Velos, but good lord are they expensive now. With 20 crawlers and just three bikes, I definitely have more money into tiny tires. I've probably got more money in RC tires than I have in 1:1 car tires.

  • @fishnrc294
    @fishnrc294 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are them there China wheels😂 Ye Ha! I love Wheels such as Vanquish but man I’ve seen some nice wheels in the 40$ range for all 4! But ya I’ll eventually cross paths with those Vanquish wheels 😉

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't break the habit of combing Amazon for beadlocks-- all three of the sets I'm using for the (eventual) Spec Series cost less than one set of Vanquish. That's what stops me.
