I am pretty sure you need to insert the rubber gasket after adding the end link to the cap and before screwing the cap onto the shock

Yes there is a rubber seal that goes on top of the shock body and the cap screws down over it. These are awesome shocks. We have built several sets of them and have a lot of Run time on them ...No Leaks
