Six years late, I know, but well done, Matt! I'm glad to have had the opportunity to ride behind the 3254 back in October of 2012 before her 15-year boiler certificate expired in December of 2012.
Its so sad that people cannot appreciate the time and effort the volunteers put into this great place . I love steam locomotives and I'm sure the volunteers do as well . These engines need to be preserved , to be put to work , the 3254 is a beautiful lady for her age . The sound of the whistle and the clang of that bell , puts a smile on my face every time ! I am planing a visit this summer and I can't wait ! Great Vid !!
This is awesome!! I'm normally a fan of anything American made. Especially steam trains but I will say Canadian National made some awesome trains! This train rocks! I watch trains and locamotives on the Rfd tv Farm network and they did a documentary of steam town, I think mark 1 rail video did it but it was oldddddddd, I think 1997 or 1994 was as far as they went. You should do new age documentary in hd of steamtown & the history of these trains, like where they are built & how. Id buy a dvd:):)
I hope about a decade or 2 from now 3254 will be operational again and be running trains again with Canadian Pacifc 2317, Baldwin 26 and Boston and Maine 3713 sure some people have been saying and telling me she might not run again because of many problems but if you just have a little faith and time 3254 will be back better than ever probably a decade or 2 from now once Boston and Maine 3713 is complete and is said to be complete sometime in 2021 and then 2317 will be worked on and then 3254 will have a chance to run trains again on steamtown property
Sadly, no. 2124 is only being cosmetically displayed at Steamtown. I have heard that she doesnt even fit into the roundhouse lol. Thank you for the comment!
It pains me that they pride themselves in the diesel locomotives when they are Quite literally called STEAMtown. They have an insane amount of rusted equipment on the verge of Falling apart. I saw 47 this August and I was trying so hard to not break down in tears. The bottom of the X10s Cylinders are Rusted out, the cab is Deteriorating, the cab doors themselves caved in, and they say everything is fine. Its not

It does. I'll never forget my first time seeing NKP #765 coming around the Horseshoe Curve. It really does stay with you.

would reading 2124 GTW 9063 CN 3254 NKP 759 and CP 2317 be steamed.
Unfortunately, this was probably 3254's final trip.
When I was little I took a ride and I think it was the Nay aug Limited and I stuck my head out the window and I got coal smoke in my eyes from 3254
Nice!
Great video. When I went 8 years ago #3254 and #2317 were doubleheading. I heard that a reading t-1 was being restored here. Is it true?
It's already happened.
Holy crap the Ns gp59 #4629 is in hazleton pa!
