This is seriously the reason why she is the queen of vocalism. No one and I mean no one does THIS at their concert, it so many different variations of their voice. Miss Mariah knows what the hell she's doing, and this is just a reminder to all of you folks who say she can't sing. I love these videos because it's a reminder of how she shuts all of you up. Mariah is perfection.

she actually handled it very similarly. Instead of storming off, she simply waited on stage for someone to fix her in-ear monitor. Unfortunately for her no one at the new years event came to fix the monitor and instead just left her hanging

That's what people don't get she may be a diva but she's a perfectionist within herself she clearly is a gift I don't care what anybody says she's a gift she is my savior for so many years now I've loved her since I was 14 right before I turned fifteen when vision of love came out 1990 amd and her album mariah carey I was hooked on her music and her message her lyrics save my life beyond any other artists and I love music but words cannot express the Gratitude and thankfulness I feel for us being graced with her presence on this Earth because I don't care what anybody says about Mariah she maybe extra she may be a diva who cares she owns it she deserves it she is a goddess in my eyes and I honestly thank God for her music because it's gotten me through the toughest times even when I've lost loved ones there's been a song to depict it and when I was outcasted by certain loved ones there's been a song to depict that feeling every movement of my life her music has gotten me through it if people can't say music heals the soul then I don't know what the hell they're listening to

I never understood how when she's just freestyling she sounds so good. But when she's performing her hits she struggles. I don't get it. She should just do like a intimate show like those jazz cafe lounge singers & get ppl to come see that.
The problem is her nodules. The balls in her cursed throat that detoriate her voice much faster then normal. Because of them her voice is non consistand, it depends on a day. People dont know this since she talked about them in 2 interviews during 30 years of her career...
I think it has something to do with her being anxious all the time on the stage. When she's free styling she doesn't have a specific famous melody to follow. She just sings with ease.
Best comment ever and if she were smart or brave or aware enough, she could have hit them with that instead of looking lost on stage and letting them get down on her.
Her songs are way harder than her impromptus lol, so she doesn't try as hard and sounds more relaxed and smooth unlike her harder songs lol.
@@zalenahquaddy4354 the problem is the arrangement and the prerecorded vocals. Most of her songs are sung in the original key. Or a transposed key with fitting prerecorded whistles/climaxes. If she used only live music she could sing the same song in a different way every night.

I had almost given up on Mariah due to all the lip synching allegations, but then I realized they say the same things about every performance she does, unless it is a poor performance. Then they just mention the flaws of the performance. This is real talent.

Seriously…this a glimpse into the true reasoning why us lambs go sooooo hard! She’s the girl next door with such an amazing range of skill sets…this video is a perfect example of 1 of those ❤️🦋❤️
She should work with Christian Scott and Esperanda Spalding to make an album of mostly Jazz ballads. It would change the game and likely be her next Emancipation of Mimi level album. I think it will remind people of the brilliance of her technique and draw a crowd that doesn't normally by her albums. Throw in some Butterfly album type vibe and easily get a couple more #1's. Plus jazz has a unique affect on an overly used range. It will strengthen her technique and smooth out the rough patches in her range. Overall, I think it would be most beneficial, seeing as pop and rnb lend to poor technique sometimes. If she did one such album, she would extend her high album sales career for another ten years because her voice would be platinum in the end. I don't know, I just think theres some new sounds in there that are worth exploring if she so desired.

They did it again to MC on NYE2016 - but they didnt come to her rescue like they did here(finally after lengthy delay.) Also she has a live band here instead of the taped playback she had on Dick Clark Show, which made the glitch a disaster. If she tried to improvise it would sound & come across even worse over the track. why didnt they just stop the tape or help her immediately??

Completely different circumstances. In NYE both of the ear pieces weren't working and the track music never stopped. If the sound engineers in NYE handled it professionally like in this instance with Mariah's own team, then they would've stopped the music completely, went up on stage, and fix the in-ear monitors immediately. But instead they chose to simply let Mariah sink on her own.
