    Your point of printing often is well put. I have an ET2720 that is going on 4 years, and works great. We print about 10 pages a day in black and usually print 10-40 color pages per week. On my 3rd or 4th bottle of black and have loaded part of the second set of color ink. My estimate is just under $.02 per page - ink and paper

      $0.02 is great! I print shipping labels with mine. Much cheaper than a thermal label printer

    I have the Epson ET-8550 and it is extremely good and economical for photo printing.

      I have its A4 size brother, the 8500. Identical with six inks and a superb photo printer, economical and easy to use. This replaced a Canon Pixma MG 7750 and is better in every way. Way cheaper to run, faster to start over wi-fi, less whirring and clicking before actually printing and a longer delay before it purges and thus allowing multiple jobs with a minute or two between them without wasting ink into the maintenance tank. Faster too, unless you print on both sides of the paper, where the Epsom hesitates for quite a few seconds before drawing the paper back in after the first side.

    I am very satisfied with my 3825. I think I have saved enough on ink in the first year to pay for it, compared to my old printer.

    I have a 5 1/2 year old Epson ET 2750 that is still working. There have been periodic clogs, but was able to fix them. No entry level printer is perfect but honestly have had this longer than any other ink jet based printer…ever!

    My ET-2875 can print dobbeltsided manually. But only whole documents. That is if you have a 100 pages document you can not only print 50 pages . I assume this is a software error but the agent seems uninterested to alert the manufacturer.

    I am tried of clogged cartridges and half filled cartridges and clogged print heads. Many companies like H* company know these are issues and just simply want you to go out and buy more cartridges. I hope Epson stays true to their word and not allow themselves to bought out by other companies so they could contine their corrupt ways.

    I have many years of experience with various ink-jet printers and clogged print heads. Like you, I discovered that the best way to prevent printer problems, is to run a Test Print every month, just to keep the print heads free. Alternatively, if printing letters frequently, I change from Black to Colour each time I print something, especially if I haven't printed something for a week or more. This prevents head clogging and also evens out cartridge usage.

      I wish there was a simple option where the printer could print a test sheet every x numbers of week to not have to think about this.

      Me Too. It's times like this I wish I was able to Code, to write my own apps, programmes and drivers. It's a shame the printer manufacturers don't do it for us, but then, at the cost of standard Printer Specific Cartridges, they would be accused by customers of deliberately wasting ink, at the customers expense. It's way past time, that all manufacturers of Printers, should make one cartridge fit all their printers; not a separate cartridge for each printer in their range. I've lost count of how many unused cartridges I've thrown away, because a printer died and the cartridges didn't fit another printer. Ink-jet cartridges are a rip-off, given the miserly amount of ink inside them. I read somewhere, that the cost of the ink works out to about One Thousand Pounds Stirling, for a Pint of ink. Personally, I would prefer not to have a printer, but sometimes, I need one. A friend of mine buys the cheapest printer he can find and throws it away when the ink runs out, because that works out cheaper than buying a new pair of ink cartridges for it. No wonder the World has a problem with e-Waste.@@printerinsider

    Why can't the printer automatically print a pattern if it isn't used.

    Epson have a 5 year warranty promotion running now... And there is a maintenance kit you can buy for $30 should the sponge box fill up and brick it. They may have problems but at least there's solutions, you're not going to just throw it away.

    • @thiefrules
      @thiefrules 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The important part is if the aftermarket will start making maintenance kits after Epson stops making the kit themselves

      @@thiefrules I actually found out those eco tanks are junk printers. Like a $1k eco tank is the same as a $250 workforce. Never buy one. Just get refillable cartridges.

    Also look at the Canon tank printers, they seem to be a bit better on plain paper, where the Epsons are a bit better on photo (glossy) paper. At least for the entry level models.

    One other problem with these is the waste ink tank counter. If you do cleaning too often, it'll get "full" and the printer will brick itself even if you clean or replace the waste ink tank sponge.
    In other words, if you don't use it enough - IMHO at least once a week - you'll print 500 pages or so, spend a ton of time cleaning heads and throw away the printer. On the other hand, it's great value if you print a lot and don't necessarily need a lot of speed.
