Key Players in the Opening of Parliament - Chief Justice of New Zealand

Chief Justice of New Zealand Dame Helen Winkelmann GNZM and two senior Judges will act as Royal Commissioners at the Commission Opening of Parliament. The Governor-General does not attend the Commission Opening of Parliament in person but sends the Royal Commissioners to declare Parliament open on her behalf.
At the State Opening, the Chief Justice will be accompanied by up to 11 other senior Judges of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and High Court, and the Sheriff of the High Court.
