Today we went from Auburn University (KAUO) down to Panama City (KECP) in the Cirrus SR22. I brought a friend Charlie along for his first airplane ride! We just finished 9 holes of golf and were on our way down to a country music festival called the Gulf Coast Jam. I hope you enjoy!

Love watching your videos. To answer your question about the power. I believe the naturally aspirated engines lose something like 2-3% of power for every 1,000' of elevation gain. I fly the 22T and it does make a difference at higher elevations. Love your professionalism man. Keep it up.
Great point!
SR22 is my favorite plane
Never seen the trick to pour oil neatly down the dip stick like that. Thanks for that small tip
Works great on metal wire oil sticks
Beautiful plane great seeing it fly. Thanks!
If the SR22 is normally aspirated, then the loss in power percentage would be related to the air density. Lower density means lower power.
🙌👍🏻every cool.. looking forward to more aviation footage.
Just finished watching your video, from here in Scotland, always informative, cheers,
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!!
Nice and understand very nice flight Blue Skies Auburn
UAB graduate long ago. Great times great places
Be safe, always kind and mindful.
Thanks for watching!
Great video and thanks for sharing! Some PFD and MFD footage in cruise would be nice.
War Eagle!!!
Take Me With You Guys❤
Beautiful flight! It was a bit unsettling seeing the passenger having his hand on the stick while you piloted, though. Happy you made it safely.

Saying “for 4RL” can cause confusion. “For” can be interpreted as “4”. I’d suggest omitting “for” and saying just the call sign.
^^ I commented that before seeing the part where you explain that lol. Great vid !
I found myself doing the same thing awhile ago and stopped using “for” in my calls.
To add to this, the correct phraseology for the altitude report is: “We are SEVEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED CLIMBING ONE ZERO THOUSAND 4RL”
It’s been getting me. Thanks for the comment!
So is Daddy a doctor or a lawyer? 😉
Hey Andrew I've actually been flying the light sport 4 experience it's so calm but scary
Looks like a fun plane, safe flying!
great video...looking to step up from piper cherokee 180 to SR22 and getting great tips...any help with transition would be appreciated...sam
Congrats! Cirrus is a lot of fun. Try and remember what it feels like on takeoff when you give it full power for the first time. Landing will feel different… sight picture, speed, flair.
Side stick is very easy to get used to, but avionics are certainly overwhelming at first. I learned all the avionics in a simulator and online before I ever flew it for the first time.
What cameras are you using ?....so clear 👍...all on battery charges ?
Using GoPro hero 9, 8, 360 max, 4. All on battery power.
Hey Andrew, I picked up the Cirrus business plan excel sheet and had a few questions regarding it. Where would be the best place to reach out to you with comments/questions? Thanks!
Golfcoastpilot Instagram or golfcoastpilot@gmail.com are the best ways to reach me. Thanks
It’s going to be hard to stop saying “for,” because it is part of your subconscious response. Even though you made a mention of it during the video you still said it a couple of times. You’re just going to have to practice. You may want to place a 3”x5” with “OMIT FOR,” written on it and place in your sight line. Many pilots have a habit of looking at one point somewhere on the panel every time they key the mic. If you find yourself doing that, place the card there. Just a thought. May I also suggest practicing “Sterile cockpit,” during important phases of flight such as landing. You don’t want to be distracted during such a critical phase of flight.
Index card is a good idea! Sounds like you have handled this before.
Density altitude War Eagle
You lose 1 inch of manifold pressure for every thousand feet you climb due to the air density that others have mentioned.
should not bring the flaps up while on the runway. not a good habit especially later on when flying a retractable aircraft. In some cases its ok on a short field for improved braking
It decreases landing distance and decreases break wear and tear! Definitely don't want to accidentally retract landing gear!
@@golfcoastpilot retracting the flaps after T/O looks pretty ok to me. Unless my memory is deteriorating i used to do it same way back in the day. Just wanna get onto my heading after clearing the runway. Maybe its my aging memory 😂
Should had took off from TCL…ROLL TIDE…😂
Iron bowl in Bryant Denny this year
Don’t forget to turn your recirc off. You appeared to have missed it in the before takeoff / run up checklist
Recirc was never on during flight. Just didn’t show turning it off in the video.
Altitudes are read back in hundreds and thousands of feet or flight levels, not abbreviated in decimals. Not sure why people are doing this.
…yea it looks like you flew your whole flight with recirc ON. BE CAREFUL NOT TO MISS CHECKLIST STEPS
Does anyone else see recirc on? (Recirc is the ↩️ button on the right side of environmental control panel)
