Jaclyn, I have been doing makeup for about a year now, and I ran into a difficult client last week. I was doing makeup for her wedding, and we did a grey smokey eye. I was doing her eyeliner, but she ended up doing it herself because she wanted to do it her way, which I get that. We put on super thick lashes, but I thought we should do the lower lash line to even everything out. I wanted it to look more sultry, but she didn't want to. It bugged me soooo much! Lol do you have any tips to tell someone they should do something so it would look better, but still be nice about it? Or if anyone else has any? Thanks (:

I've run into similar issues with brides wanting very trendy looks that are in fashion at the moment but won't be in ten years when they look back at their wedding pictures. I also suggest something more classic and explain that they might cringe at their choice in retrospect but in the end I have to give them what they are paying for. I'll make sure that I have pictures with me next time so I can reference them when I make suggestions. I've also found that if I do beautiful make-up on a less fussy bridesmaid first, the others who want fully lined black eyes will change their minds once they see they can trust me to make them pretty.

***** Sometimes lining the lower lash line can close the eye a bit more, especially for people with very dark brown eyes (me) using a more brown/warmer tone on the lower lash line can help. I have found just a tiny bit on the outer corner can look really nice. For brides, a trial should always be done if possible to try different options- but it sounds like this person knew exactly what they wanted. I'm a bit like that, So I will be doing my own make up for my wedding :)

Caren Collins I checked out Tiarni's channel and I believe it is Jaclyn's picture. Look at the picture at 3:14 in his video. It's def. Jaclyn. They do have similar eyebrows though. And im not sure if im the only one who notices but Jaclyn's eyes sometimes look blue and sometimes they look like they do in this video lol :)

HerpDerpMapleSerp ' Exactly! To be perfectly honest, Im not the biggest fan of him anyway. While I can honestly appreciate his knowledge on the topic of makeup and what not, I find him to be a tad too pretentious for my liking. I don't ever see him actually responding to his fan's questions or comments which to me, takes away quite a bit of the "personal" feel I get with other gurus. I have to say I usually don't put transition colors under my eyeshadow, even after watching all your videos but for some reason today I did it and IT MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE! The thing you did with choosing your lip colour..I do that ALL the time! If I know where I'm going the next day, that night I will be thinking about my eye shadow and what foundation to use. Looking back at older videos watching you use cheap products and now watching you since you use more luxury products REALLY shows what a great artist you are! I actually really really love this look. I've felt a bit stuck in my routine lately, the same warm browns over and over again on my eyes. I love the idea of having the peachy colors in my crease and basically a barely warm white/cream on my lid. Just really lighten it up. Beautiful job - thanks for showing the whole thing too. I found myself studying not just the colors you chose but also the brushes and technique for application, even with it sped up. I've been having problems with make-up for years! My make-up routine is very basic. I have dry skin and my t-zone can occasionally get a bit oily but it's mainly dry/dull and horrible! The foundation I'm currently using just makes my face dry up even more after a couple of hours and comes away very quickly! I use Max Factor Face Finity all day flawless 3-in-1 as a base-type coat, the coverage isn't great however and if I put too much on it looks cakey! As like a top-coat I use Max Factor Miracle Touch which looks great on to begin with but I think that's what drys my face out in the end as I do use quite a lot of it to give me a good coverage. I'm going to change my foundation, start using concealer as I've always had horrible bags, and use the concealer on my under eye area and on my t-zone area that I keep seeing in videos! I have small oval shaped eyes so I find it difficult to do eye make-up well. Anyone got any tips on the best sort of eye make-up style for small eyes? And how to deal with dry skin? x

HerpDerpMapleSerp ' Exactly! To be perfectly honest, Im not the biggest fan of him anyway. While I can honestly appreciate his knowledge on the topic of makeup and what not, I find him to be a tad too pretentious for my liking. I don't ever see him actually responding to his fan's questions or comments which to me, takes away quite a bit of the "personal" feel I get with other gurus. Although I have learned a thing or two from him too :P (haha listen to me, I sound like a total hypocrite! I guess you could say I have a "love/hate" relationship with Mr. Goss) :P

I have to say I usually don't put transition colors under my eyeshadow, even after watching all your videos but for some reason today I did it and IT MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE! I couldn't believe how effortless the colors I used faded into each other. It was beautiful. So thank you for giving that tip even tho it took me so long to actually utilize it😂 love you Jaclyn!!

I know a lot of people struggle with gel liner. Why not try a regular pencil liner or liquid liner and see if it is easier for you? :)

The thing you did with choosing your lip colour..I do that ALL the time! If I know where I'm going the next day, that night I will be thinking about my eye shadow and what foundation to use. Then, the next day, when everything is done, I just have to choose a lip colour and I stand there, in front of the mirror, trying my lipsticks :D amazing vid Jac xoxo

Looking back at older videos watching you use cheap products and now watching you since you use more luxury products REALLY shows what a great artist you are! You legit could make DOLLAR STORE makeup look amazing! 3 years ago I Had no idea what makeup was until I was introduced to you and now I can slap on a full face and feel 100xs better. ❤ binging your vids lately with all the drama everyone keeps pointing out at you and you STILL got it regardless of you down falls or any type of weight gain! 👌 also, kudos to using my husband's TH-cam. 😂
I actually really really love this look. I've felt a bit stuck in my routine lately, the same warm browns over and over again on my eyes. I love the idea of having the peachy colors in my crease and basically a barely warm white/cream on my lid. Just really lighten it up. Beautiful job - thanks for showing the whole thing too. I found myself studying not just the colors you chose but also the brushes and technique for application, even with it sped up. I've been having problems with make-up for years! My make-up routine is very basic. I have dry skin and my t-zone can occasionally get a bit oily but it's mainly dry/dull and horrible! The foundation I'm currently using just makes my face dry up even more after a couple of hours and comes away very quickly! I use Max Factor Face Finity all day flawless 3-in-1 as a base-type coat, the coverage isn't great however and if I put too much on it looks cakey! As like a top-coat I use Max Factor Miracle Touch which looks great on to begin with but I think that's what drys my face out in the end as I do use quite a lot of it to give me a good coverage. I'm going to change my foundation, start using concealer as I've always had horrible bags, and use the concealer on my under eye area and on my t-zone area that I keep seeing in videos! I have small oval shaped eyes so I find it difficult to do eye make-up well. Anyone got any tips on the best sort of eye make-up style for small eyes? And how to deal with dry skin? x
