Vampires can show up in film and photos as long as no mirrors are involved. Remember that Spike had someone recording Buffy fighting some vampires with a digital camcorder and the vampires showed up. They might say otherwise on the show at times - but the characters' knowledge of the lore isn't perfect either. I think Giles had a photo of Drusilla in one of his Watcher's books in Lie To Me.

Eternity was an interesting episode exploring the power of celebrity and how people can be taken in and manipulated by it. Angel having his drink spiked being drugged and almost getting that moment of pure happiness makes us anxious watching this. Funny when Cordelia calls her a slut, accusing her of having sex with Angel. Wesley knows it's not real and just an illusory feeling and saves the day here. Again the episode shows the dangers is spiking or drugging people as you never know what the consequences can be. Funniest part when Angelus tells Cordelia having to sit through her acting was even worse than being to Hell itself! This now sets up nicely E18 an E19 very much a two parter as good as anything from either show. Enjoy!

"but she's not getting the holy water blessed every day."
Well, maybe she is now though. ;)

I see many fans say the mythology gets screwed up in this episode. I argue against that because I don't believe Angel ever actually loses his soul. The drugs make him think so/suppress it as they simulate bliss really well. In essence Angel is feeling the effects of the drugs and it is nothing more than that. And it is why he should be worried about what makes being happy as the reason behind true happiness could easily shift. The Doximal's effects are what's happening to Angel. It's why the Angelus of this episode doesn't quite act like the Angelus we know from previous AtS and BtVS episodes. Nothing in the vampire mythology of the series says Doximal wouldn't affect a vampire. This proves that there is more than one way for Angel to risk Angelus on the population. Not just the "happiness" clause in the curse. To me, it's another reason Angel shouldn't ever get complacent about the curse. At the end of the day, Angel "not feeling guilt, as Enyos explains in _Innocence_ by saying, "One moment where the soul that we restored no longer plagues his thoughts, and that soul is taken from him" is how the curse works. Angel, in this episode, is still feeling guilty, as we can see from the immediacy after him squirting blood in Rebecca's mouth, so in this case, Wesley saying simulated bliss means he still has his soul, but Doximal is so good it is simulating ("an illusion") Angelus. And that is why it can wear off. It always made sense to me and I never believed the curse or shows mythology was messed with. The mythology isn't screwed up.

No, it's not screwed. It does actually confirm that Angelus is always there, but he's just Angelus with feelings of caring, remorse, sympathy, etc.. And Angelus has already said on Buffy that he hated Buffy for making him feel human . For loving each other, that is. He didn't have to bother with love while living on rats in the back alleys. So the drug just switches off that ability to care, as often happens to people under the influence who end up doing really stupid or bad things.
