Minerva basically shot herself in the leg when she proudly displayed the torture she did to Milianna and Kagura in front of Erza. Hurting two of Titania's closest friends definitely earned her a well-deserved beatdown, which ends brutally for her since Erza got no holds barred against her.

Yeah, I think if Mavis doesn't have much intel on you, then it messes up her predictions. Nobody knew Kagura had hatred for Jellal, nor would anybody think Kagura had any connection to Erza, so it threw off Mavis' predictions. Everybody else was easily predictable AF for her.
This armor is very powerful a one shot attack that takes so much magic power that if she were to use it 2 times in one day she could be powerless for like a whole week depending on how much power she used
The fact that Minerva is underrated is still beyond me. Ofc she was introduced as a villain in a more than villainous way, but her character had potential for so much. Personally, I wish Minerva would have moved into main character or at least secondary character territory. She has the potential to, with the OP introduction of her magic, her and Erza should become allies. I know ofc they did in the future after Erza fought her again but I mean the way Erza did with Brandish in the manga. It’s obvi not in Minerva’s character to have “best friends”or friends in the first place. With her backstory, it’s essentially a Todoroki situation all over again. A child bred to be their parents prodigy with a lack of or missing mother figure, Minerva ended up stronger than most adults. Hell, she was the guild master after her father was eliminated. Also one of the few characters to survive Main Character Armor (Lucy vs Minerva in the naval battle). She showed ruthlessness and stopped for genuinely nothing, landing attack after attack. If she has pulled a Juvia and joined Fairy Tail after I KNOW she would’ve been in Team Natsu. Sorry for my rant but I just love her sm
Right! Her magic is heavily underrated and extremely powerful has to be at least top 25 strongest magic in the show, she’s literally manipulating space. Also after she became good it would’ve been nice to see her become friends/best friends with the other girls (Lucy, Yukio, Kagura to some extent, and even Erza) to show that the past is the past. It would’ve been interesting to watch and see Minerva interact with them because as we know she never had a normal life/childhood so see her interact with the other girls and doing things with them that they normally do would’ve been an interesting site-even give Minvera a glimpse of what life would’ve been like if her Dad wasn’t such an unbelievable asshole, then she could’ve had a normal life cause the girls didn’t have one either (Lucy after her mom died it went downhill quickly and she had to grow up immediately and move out of her Dad’s verbal abusive home and make one for herself; I can’t remember Yukio’s, Kagura was protected by Erza from being a slave and searched for her brother for a long time until she found out he died and then tried to find his killer basically devoting her life to it and you can tell she didn’t focus on nothing else but that as her feelings towards anything remotely feminine was awkward-like of course in a cute way but you could tell she wasn’t used to it and clearly hadn’t worn a dress/or gown in her life at the Ball for Wizards only, and well Erza’s childhood was shit-an orphan cause her mom didn’t have it in her to take her body, then is taken as a slave and leads a rebellion and one of her father figures dies causing her magic to awaken, one of her close friends/crush is unknowingly (to her) being controlled, etc. etc. etc. I mean the girl even has to watch Acnologia stomp the shit out of and defile her mom’s corpse-while there was no closeness between them (for obvious reasons) you can tell she was affected by it-either because deep down she did somewhat acknowledge that Irene was her mother or because Erza can’t stand by and watch as a corpse is being defiled and disrespected even if it is her enemy, or knowing Erza it could be both) so seeing these girls come together to hang out (think in Lucifer Tv Show where Linda, Chloe, Maze, and Ella have a girls night that’s both chaotic and so enjoyable) would’ve been nice and possibly entertaining to see especially with Erza’s habit of kidnapping people and taking them to places they don’t want to go

As much as I love Minerva ad a villain, I'm afraid your fantasies are unrealistic. If she went the Juvia route and joined fairy tail as a good person, she'd be heavily nerfed. Hell I'd argue she was even nerfed remaining in Sabertooth. The only ones with relevance from that guild anymore are Sting and Rogue, and that's just because they're dragonslayers. (Also because Sting becomes the master and Rogue had the whole Future Rogue possibility) Minerva and Kagura became heavily nerfed by Alvarez and got barely any screentime because they weren't part of Fairy Tail

it's anime. even their time moves slower than in our real world XD they can have like 3 episodes but only passed by a few minutes for an anime bomb thingy. unrealistic and makes no sense (most of the time lol)

Regarding 2nd origin as people are confused about it dint ultear said 2nd origin is a separate source of magic power they can call upon but they normally can't use it and the only way to draw from thier reserve magic is by exhausting thier current magic power which erza is exhausted hence she met the requirements to draw magic power from a separate magical pool inside her (in a sense if we use naruto logic its like naruto drawing chakra from kurama when naruto himself is nearly out of chakra ..... However for second origin they can only use second origin when they are exhausted..... That's how I remember ultear explaining 2nd origin

I don't understand why people are arguing power levels here. Overall the message of Fairy Tail is that love and friendship are the most powerful thing of all. If you are complaining about an outcome like this fight then you must not realize what show you are watching.
Those who rant about power scaling are those who only watches fighting clips and not the whole anime. They don't want to understand how any series works, they just want fight. No story.
You need logical power scaling in an anime so that when the main character wins its believable. If a character is noticeable weaker than the opponent and then they say something about friends and get stronger and that’s it, it kinda takes away from the moment.
@@khyron2010 but I don't understand why Erza is the one everyone complains about. To me her fights have always made the most sense. Natsu is the one who always gets the friendship power up. Before this arc began it was stated that they all received their second origin. Its no less a power up than SSJ1. Erza never used her second origin against Kagura and still won and she was clearly holding back while Kagura was in rage mode. When minerva fought Erza she was all beaten up from the Minerva fight just as Goku was when fighting captain ginyu before Freiza and look what happened when he got SSJ1. This is not an out of nowhere powerup it explains how she gets it. Natsu on the other hand was getting his ass kicked by rogue and sting and suddenly starts winning even though he's clearly going all out from the start.
Fighting is half the story bro especially in a show with fucking lots of fights. If you built up a character to be really fuckin strong like super fuckin strong the main character cant pull up and solo them no diff it's gotta have some bit, like pain from Naruto was built up to be really strong and he destoryed the whole village and fought multiple high ass lvl characters with little issue and only fell by the power of another REALLY OVER POWERED character whose power was built up through out the show

If erza didn't talk to her, she definitely would've won, but she just found out Simon died protecting erza, so really it was also erza's fault he died, plus erza saved her when they were kids. So she didn't know who to take her anger out on anymore. Erza on the other hand was very determined and had a clear motivation. To fight for her guild and for the people that saved her life. Yes it was also plot armor but her motivations were more clear

Erza once said that ‘her weakness’ is what killed Simon because ‘her weakness’ is her ‘undying love for Jellal and how she believed deep down he can be saved’. Simon is dead, he served a purpose, and what Jellal can do now is keep moving forward into the light and instead of having ‘Simon’ being used as a plot to make Jellal feel guilty even more.

Kinda makes me think if Kagura could have beaten Minerva herself. She was very emotional here plus Minerva just beat her by sneaking up on her while she was about to give Erza the win. I like to think that Kagura is stronger than her judging by her speed and clever tactics. I hope we get to see more of her power on the 100 years quest (haven't read the manga). Her fighting style is pretty interesting and deserves more credit, similar to Mirajane.

GOD DAYUM, I still can’t get over that attack from Minerva(18 battle gods of Yakuma). Fairy tail nails the music so well imo and the faces after the attack and when Kagura and Erza SURVIVED, literally made me throw my chair out the window.

I really didn't watch FT after this arc because characters who had such impact on this arc like Minerva and Kagura were nerfed. This battle gave me goosebumps. Same with Mirajane. She was introduced to be so strong and her battle with Freed just gave me a lot of emotions. However she was just nerfed afterwards.
Nobody had a clue that Kagura knew Jellal, let alone hated him so much. Also, nobody also knew exactly how Kagura's sword works, since she can slice & dice without unsheathing it. Kagura was way too unpredictable for Mavis to foresee her future movements.
That would be easy win for Kagura. None of Erza's armor work against her, Kagura doesn't even hesitate to kill Erza just one strike and the fight would be finish 😂

Minerva’s a coward, just like the other bad guys. Kagura’s backstory makes me think of my oc’s backstory, and their results left them both hurt. My oc healed by actually finding a friend in Risley Law, but Kagura didn’t take kindly to him, after many years my oc and Risley made a family of their own, and it was the middle child that fixed their relationship by bringing my oc and Kagura together. The middle child didn’t start out as the bravest kid on the block, but there’s something special inside that turns him into a heroic, sword wielding hero, one that earns the title of leader.

Kagura is clearly stronger than First Origin Erza. Flight armor is Erza's fastest, Kagura out sped it. Adamantine is Erza's most defensive, Kagura broke it. Heaven's Wheel is Erza's most omni directional, Kagura dodged it. So, that concludes that in First Origin, Erza is slower, less defensive and offensive than Kagura.

What, this isn't true. Whilst the feats mentioned are indeed impressive, they do not make kagura stronger than First Origin Erza. We have to remember that by then Erza felt sorry for Kagura and held back some of her power, which is likely why Kagura was able to land those hits. This is evidenced by the fact that as soon as Erza DID decide to go all out (Clear Heart Armour- or otherwise red pyjamas erza), she was able to effortlessly block Kagura's strongest attack, namely being her unsheathed archenemy strike, and defeat Kagura all together (however Minerva did steal the kill). All of this happened BEFORE Erza used her Second Origin. Of the three most powerful female wizards in the gmg, the rankings are: Titania Erza>Kagura>>Minerva
I think that if Kagura doesn't let her emotions get the best of her, she can defeat both of them. Even Erza is having a hard time fighting her considering Kagura only uses her swordsmanship and raw strength and when it comes to Minerva, I'm sure she can defeat her without sheating her sword.

mainly because the animation at the end of the fight was sooo lame, her last strike felt so off, we didn't even feel any rage or power from it unlike in the manga where you could literally sense Erza's anger.

Both of them displayed true skill, wit, strength and power and there wasn't a bunch of friendship talk. That was a great fight. Every other Erza fight is so cringy, cause its full of illogical ridiculousness to make Erza seem unfathomably powerful. To me, Mirajane is far stronger and she doesn't use plot or friendship to win.

Fot those who didnt understand why Mavis strategy didnt work. She didnt knew 2 things. First is that Kagura knew about Jellal being hidden in Fairy ail, so she went full rage on Erza, second, Sting suddently Power Buster, witch made Minerva more confident to fightr against the two of them

Minerva and Kagura are some really good opponents. Some people says that they could have easily ended erza but they seems to forget that Erza "disappeared" for 7 years, she has 7 years less training and she didn't have time to train before the games. And she still won just imagine if she had the 7 years training.

And archenemy is more powerful when used against the person the sword was originally targeted for and since Erza wasn't really Kagura's true target she wasn't able to draw out the sword's true potential. That along with Erza drawing on her emotions and making Kagura's will and focus falter. I don't think Kagura is stronger than Erza but she's definitely close to her strength and not fodder level

@@comfort7383 Bruh, did neither of you even watch the anime? 1st Origin is the standard use of magic. 2nd Origin is when you level up from that, unlocking a hidden ethernano container inside yourself, allowing you to hold more magic power, meaning you can both last longer and cast stronger spells.
1st origin is the basic, she earned it when she was young, letting you use your own mana (or something like that). Just remember when she was in ToH, that's her 1st origin. When she's able to control her power for the first time. That's what it called her present 1st Origin. The 2nd Origin is something that was used in the past that no one can do it in present. And lastly the 3rd Origin is the power from the future. Finale Season showed it there.

Another thing that makes Fairytale one of the most dominating anime of all time is the music score. The music they choose for each fight is ridiculously accurate & perfect. Freaking love & miss this anime!
I gotta say this, Kagura is the most powerful if she did not lost her temper. Too bad Erza is a main character. Minerva won't stand a chance either she's weak in hand to hand combat. Not to mention, Kagura did not use any magic here like her gravity magic, except her releasing her Archenemy sword.

Yeah, I think if Mavis doesn't have much intel on you, then it messes up her predictions. Nobody knew Kagura had hatred for Jellal, nor would anybody think Kagura had any connection to Erza, so it threw off Mavis' predictions. Everybody else was easily predictable AF for her.

The fact that Minerva is underrated is still beyond me. Ofc she was introduced as a villain in a more than villainous way, but her character had potential for so much. Personally, I wish Minerva would have moved into main character or at least secondary character territory. She has the potential to, with the OP introduction of her magic, her and Erza should become allies. I know ofc they did in the future after Erza fought her again but I mean the way Erza did with Brandish in the manga. It’s obvi not in Minerva’s character to have “best friends”or friends in the first place. With her backstory, it’s essentially a Todoroki situation all over again. A child bred to be their parents prodigy with a lack of or missing mother figure, Minerva ended up stronger than most adults. Hell, she was the guild master after her father was eliminated. Also one of the few characters to survive Main Character Armor (Lucy vs Minerva in the naval battle). She showed ruthlessness and stopped for genuinely nothing, landing attack after attack. If she has pulled a Juvia and joined Fairy Tail after I KNOW she would’ve been in Team Natsu. Sorry for my rant but I just love her sm
Right! Her magic is heavily underrated and extremely powerful has to be at least top 25 strongest magic in the show, she’s literally manipulating space.
Also after she became good it would’ve been nice to see her become friends/best friends with the other girls (Lucy, Yukio, Kagura to some extent, and even Erza) to show that the past is the past. It would’ve been interesting to watch and see Minerva interact with them because as we know she never had a normal life/childhood so see her interact with the other girls and doing things with them that they normally do would’ve been an interesting site-even give Minvera a glimpse of what life would’ve been like if her Dad wasn’t such an unbelievable asshole, then she could’ve had a normal life cause the girls didn’t have one either (Lucy after her mom died it went downhill quickly and she had to grow up immediately and move out of her Dad’s verbal abusive home and make one for herself; I can’t remember Yukio’s, Kagura was protected by Erza from being a slave and searched for her brother for a long time until she found out he died and then tried to find his killer basically devoting her life to it and you can tell she didn’t focus on nothing else but that as her feelings towards anything remotely feminine was awkward-like of course in a cute way but you could tell she wasn’t used to it and clearly hadn’t worn a dress/or gown in her life at the Ball for Wizards only, and well Erza’s childhood was shit-an orphan cause her mom didn’t have it in her to take her body, then is taken as a slave and leads a rebellion and one of her father figures dies causing her magic to awaken, one of her close friends/crush is unknowingly (to her) being controlled, etc. etc. etc. I mean the girl even has to watch Acnologia stomp the shit out of and defile her mom’s corpse-while there was no closeness between them (for obvious reasons) you can tell she was affected by it-either because deep down she did somewhat acknowledge that Irene was her mother or because Erza can’t stand by and watch as a corpse is being defiled and disrespected even if it is her enemy, or knowing Erza it could be both) so seeing these girls come together to hang out (think in Lucifer Tv Show where Linda, Chloe, Maze, and Ella have a girls night that’s both chaotic and so enjoyable) would’ve been nice and possibly entertaining to see especially with Erza’s habit of kidnapping people and taking them to places they don’t want to go

As much as I love Minerva ad a villain, I'm afraid your fantasies are unrealistic. If she went the Juvia route and joined fairy tail as a good person, she'd be heavily nerfed. Hell I'd argue she was even nerfed remaining in Sabertooth. The only ones with relevance from that guild anymore are Sting and Rogue, and that's just because they're dragonslayers. (Also because Sting becomes the master and Rogue had the whole Future Rogue possibility)
Minerva and Kagura became heavily nerfed by Alvarez and got barely any screentime because they weren't part of Fairy Tail

Regarding 2nd origin as people are confused about it dint ultear said 2nd origin is a separate source of magic power they can call upon but they normally can't use it and the only way to draw from thier reserve magic is by exhausting thier current magic power which erza is exhausted hence she met the requirements to draw magic power from a separate magical pool inside her (in a sense if we use naruto logic its like naruto drawing chakra from kurama when naruto himself is nearly out of chakra ..... However for second origin they can only use second origin when they are exhausted..... That's how I remember ultear explaining 2nd origin

You need logical power scaling in an anime so that when the main character wins its believable. If a character is noticeable weaker than the opponent and then they say something about friends and get stronger and that’s it, it kinda takes away from the moment.

Before this arc began it was stated that they all received their second origin. Its no less a power up than SSJ1.
Erza never used her second origin against Kagura and still won and she was clearly holding back while Kagura was in rage mode.
When minerva fought Erza she was all beaten up from the Minerva fight just as Goku was when fighting captain ginyu before Freiza and look what happened when he got SSJ1.
This is not an out of nowhere powerup it explains how she gets it.
Natsu on the other hand was getting his ass kicked by rogue and sting and suddenly starts winning even though he's clearly going all out from the start.
Fighting is half the story bro especially in a show with fucking lots of fights. If you built up a character to be really fuckin strong like super fuckin strong the main character cant pull up and solo them no diff it's gotta have some bit, like pain from Naruto was built up to be really strong and he destoryed the whole village and fought multiple high ass lvl characters with little issue and only fell by the power of another REALLY OVER POWERED character whose power was built up through out the show
personally, i think the best part of this fight was at the beginning when they were all fucking shit up and it wasn't really clear who had the upperhand

If erza didn't talk to her, she definitely would've won, but she just found out Simon died protecting erza, so really it was also erza's fault he died, plus erza saved her when they were kids. So she didn't know who to take her anger out on anymore.
Erza on the other hand was very determined and had a clear motivation. To fight for her guild and for the people that saved her life. Yes it was also plot armor but her motivations were more clear

Erza once said that ‘her weakness’ is what killed Simon because ‘her weakness’ is her ‘undying love for Jellal and how she believed deep down he can be saved’. Simon is dead, he served a purpose, and what Jellal can do now is keep moving forward into the light and instead of having ‘Simon’ being used as a plot to make Jellal feel guilty even more.

Kinda makes me think if Kagura could have beaten Minerva herself. She was very emotional here plus Minerva just beat her by sneaking up on her while she was about to give Erza the win. Her fighting style is pretty interesting and deserves more credit, similar to Mirajane.

Honestly after what Minerva did to Lucy Earlier, seeing the fear in her eyes and hearing her beg Erza for mercy was VERY satisfying.
I really didn't watch FT after this arc because characters who had such impact on this arc like Minerva and Kagura were nerfed. This battle gave me goosebumps.
Same with Mirajane. She was introduced to be so strong and her battle with Freed just gave me a lot of emotions. However she was just nerfed afterwards.
I strongly believe the writers knew that giving Mira equal spotlight as Erza would eventually lead to Mira overpowering & outshining Erza.

Minerva’s a coward, just like the other bad guys. Kagura’s backstory makes me think of my oc’s backstory, and their results left them both hurt. My oc healed by actually finding a friend in Risley Law, but Kagura didn’t take kindly to him, after many years my oc and Risley made a family of their own, and it was the middle child that fixed their relationship by bringing my oc and Kagura together. The middle child didn’t start out as the bravest kid on the block, but there’s something special inside that turns him into a heroic, sword wielding hero, one that earns the title of leader.

What, this isn't true. Whilst the feats mentioned are indeed impressive, they do not make kagura stronger than First Origin Erza. We have to remember that by then Erza felt sorry for Kagura and held back some of her power, which is likely why Kagura was able to land those hits. This is evidenced by the fact that as soon as Erza DID decide to go all out (Clear Heart Armour- or otherwise red pyjamas erza), she was able to effortlessly block Kagura's strongest attack, namely being her unsheathed archenemy strike, and defeat Kagura all together (however Minerva did steal the kill). All of this happened BEFORE Erza used her Second Origin. Of the three most powerful female wizards in the gmg, the rankings are:
Titania Erza>Kagura>>Minerva
I most like Kagura because she don't need magic to fight. She has the ability that erza should it too, a mastery in fighting.
I think that if Kagura doesn't let her emotions get the best of her, she can defeat both of them. Even Erza is having a hard time fighting her considering Kagura only uses her swordsmanship and raw strength and when it comes to Minerva, I'm sure she can defeat her without sheating her sword.
All due respect but...no. this is an abovious apparent by erzas armor and skill with her own sword. And the fact that erza still could have donned her fairy armor anytime she wanted.

My sentiments exactly. I like Erza, but she wins due to plot almost all the time. The best logical, toe to toe fight she had was against Erza Knightwalker in Edolas. Both of them displayed true skill, wit, strength and power and there wasn't a bunch of friendship talk. That was a great fight. Every other Erza fight is so cringy, cause its full of illogical ridiculousness to make Erza seem unfathomably powerful. To me, Mirajane is far stronger and she doesn't use plot or friendship to win.

Fot those who didnt understand why Mavis strategy didnt work. She didnt knew 2 things. First is that Kagura knew about Jellal being hidden in Fairy ail, so she went full rage on Erza, second, Sting suddently Power Buster, witch made Minerva more confident to fightr against the two of them

Some people says that they could have easily ended erza but they seems to forget that Erza "disappeared" for 7 years, she has 7 years less training and she didn't have time to train before the games.
And she still won just imagine if she had the 7 years training.

@@astralaurora4165 Kagura was not really that strong compared to her. I mean, she is strong, but Erza is way stronger. Erza even blocked Kagura's Archenemy, that's supposedly her trump card against Jellal.
And what I mean is, she can one-shot Kagura using Nakagami Armor.
@@NVB709 TBF Kagura didn't even use her gravity magic at all during that fight so it's hard to say if she was even going all out. And archenemy is more powerful when used against the person the sword was originally targeted for and since Erza wasn't really Kagura's true target she wasn't able to draw out the sword's true potential. That along with Erza drawing on her emotions and making Kagura's will and focus falter. I don't think Kagura is stronger than Erza but she's definitely close to her strength and not fodder level

2nd origin is not an armor it’s a speell that ultear casted before it gives you a huge power up but she saved it till here
First origin is weaker than the second if it even exists
@@comfort7383 Bruh, did neither of you even watch the anime? 1st Origin is the standard use of magic. 2nd Origin is when you level up from that, unlocking a hidden ethernano container inside yourself, allowing you to hold more magic power, meaning you can both last longer and cast stronger spells.

1st origin is the basic, she earned it when she was young, letting you use your own mana (or something like that). Just remember when she was in ToH, that's her 1st origin. When she's able to control her power for the first time. That's what it called her present 1st Origin. The 2nd Origin is something that was used in the past that no one can do it in present.
And lastly the 3rd Origin is the power from the future. Finale Season showed it there.

Another thing that makes Fairytale one of the most dominating anime of all time is the music score. The music they choose for each fight is ridiculously accurate & perfect. Freaking love & miss this anime!

I gotta say this, Kagura is the most powerful if she did not lost her temper. Too bad Erza is a main character. Minerva won't stand a chance either she's weak in hand to hand combat. Not to mention, Kagura did not use any magic here like her gravity magic, except her releasing her Archenemy sword.
Erza channeled her inner Dynasty Warrior energy to win the fight.
