Loved the video!! One of my favorite places on Earth. That same hike but with Rim, TeePee, Roaring Plains, and back down the Rd makes for a great day hike.

Thanks! Yea the video here we just didn't have much daylight hours to work with. It was different seeing it with snow and ice covered trees. That's what I was wanting to see on this outing was the icy trees. We took it pretty easy this day.

I haven't made it up there in the winter time yet. Definitely on my list of things to do. Loved all of the rime on the trees.

Incredible work with the camera! I think you caught winter at its end and its finest with spring around the corner...beautifully photographed. I was wondering about other areas in the Monongahela forest, places not so popular (too many visitors) as the Dolly Sods. I want to find a great area that is peaceful and offers more primitive camping sites. Thanks for sharing your adventure. I would love to see a drone shot of this area.

Alexander Weaver there are many places to go in WV to get away from people. Even just going during the week to popular areas like dolly sods instead of weekends makes a big difference. The mon National Forest trail guide book put out by highland conservancy is good tool. I use it a lot. Might look into areas like Gauley Mtn,, Shavers Mtn,, deep in Cranberry Wilderness away from Cranberry River is usually pretty darn isolated from people. If you can go during week...your golden I think on solitude.

Great video with awesome photography! You're lucky you didn't do the Rims Trail as the ice & snow on the rocks is dangerous. Also the Hidden Passage is just called that, not with my name in front. I think Mike just put that on his website to attribute my showing it to him. I also showed him the Rims Trails and TeePee Trail a couple times so he could share them. I just posted a Plains backpack video in my channel so please do watch it if you have the time (it's a long vid). Congrats on your trip!

I kinda figured your name wasn't part of the passage trail name once i realized you were not a historical figure after I posted the video. I just hiked the rim trail couple weeks ago and your right!..it would have been too dangerous with ice and snow for sure. But for me, it's hands down best trail I've done in West Virginia so far. Views, rugged, scenic. Came across 4 rattlesnakes that day on the rim trail. I'll be making a video of that trip here soon! I'll be sure to check out your video! Thanks for the comment and info!

I'm looking for a small town in northern WV. Advice, suggestions?
