As a proud veteran takodachi I must sing the praises of our priestess :D
Ina is an incredible illustrator. She has tons of art streams on her channel to attest to that, and even the illustrations for her MVs are done by her.
She is also one of the most soothing and wholesome streamers in Hololive. Tuning in to her streams is great for bringing my mood up and calming me down after a day of work.
And of course, I love hearing her sing. Her cover of the song Nai Nai is my favorite and her rendition of TK's Unravel on a karaoke stream is one of the most referenced to in the HoloEN community.
She's taking some very well deserved time away from streams to rest right now and I hope nothing short of the best of the best for her, always.

First? Ninomae Inanis is from Holo Myth and she is probably the calmest and most relaxing girl out of everyone in EN. She is an amazing artist, she can speak both English and Japanese. From what I know, she does her own art for her MVs, anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Edit: To answer your questions for how people join Hololive, they simply audition. I've seen the forms. They ask for some background information (nothing complicated) for example languages you speak, if you're an experienced streamer, what you stream on, ect. At some point they do ask for a video of yourself, but I don't think they expect to show your face. That's just vague information, I'll try to do more research for Skid. I would like to reccomend you check out "Do U" by Takanashi Kiara. With her reaction, I believe we can close out the Myth side of things.

To add, from having indirect experience with auditions to a vtuber company. Being multilanguage is a big plus, having experience before as an artist (not all were streamers before, Ina is an example, she was/is a successful illustrator and graphic artist) is today basically mandatory, singings skill are another big plus, and having a good skill in capturing the attention in some way or skill as a gamer is another good starting point
And yeah, it's very very hard to be taken by a medium to big vtuber company, there's so much competition this days.

Ah, Ina my love! Such a nice, soothing voice. Ina is not really music-focused, with only this one original, and two covers (she hasn't even done too many karaokes). Even still, lovely voice.
As others have mentioned, Ina's main focus before Hololive was as a professional Illustrator. All the illustrations for her 3 MVs were done by Ina herself. She has also done quite a few drawing streams, that are extremely chill yet somehow still produce a high-quality piece in only a few hours.
No need to be a vtuber before joining Hololive, just a content producer / streamer. For the most part, all the funding for the music production is provided by the talents themselves, although the company does have a lot of connections to various outside producers. There isn't really a requirement to be a singer to join, although most who join are looking to produce music.

    • @dragonbretheren
      @dragonbretheren ปีที่แล้ว +3

Very well stated! To give some examples, Calli had little to no streaming or vtubing experience prior to applying to Hololive, but came with an impressive music resume and unparalleled work ethic. Calli had to learn the ins and outs of streaming as she went.
On the other side of the same coin, Calli's genmate Amelia Watson (Ame) is not a musician, but is arguably one of the most innovative streamers in the entire company. In their 2+ years since debut, Ame has not produced any original music or official solo covers, does very few karaoke streams compared to others, and only really sings in group projects like Journey Like A Thousand Years, Non-Fiction, etc. But Ame constantly pushes the bounds of both Hololive management and fans' expectations such as getting EN their pseudo-3D setups in VR, arranging major holiday collabs, as well as several off-collabs (IRL meetups) between members separated between 3-4 continents and a half dozen time zones.

Obviously there's the Myth and EN groups songs, but she also did a duet cover of Summertime with Nabi (Ame's art mama) and was also the main feature on the Bad End Night cover on Axel's channel (a cover that is severely underrated, only just recently hitting 500k, and it deserves so much more!)

Hololive's parent company Cover had a record label called INoNaKa Music (INNK for short) but they mostly just released music for AZKi whom recently joined Hololive after INNK was shut down, but most other Hololive members approach producers and artist that they want to work with, well now, it is more like they tell their manager who they want to work with and Hololive connections make it happen if possible, in special cases Hololive will cover the costs of producing the music (Usually originals for their concerts), but most members pay for their songs since they prefer to release songs or covers more frequently. That is at least what I've gathered from some members speaking about that process, mind you, a lot of things fall into NDA territory, so they can't say much sometimes.

Her name is pronounced Nee-no-ma-e Ee-na-nis, but we in her fanbase call her Ina. Her fanbase are the “Tentacult” and each individual viewer is a “Takodachi”, Tako = Octopus in Japanese and Tomodachi = Friend.
Ina is the comfiest of the Hololive English Vtubers, and on top of having a lovely voice and being a talented singer, she is one of the most talented artists in Hololive, usually providing the illustrations for many of her songs and covers, as well as illustrating professionally for sponsored content and other vtubers within Hololive.
As for recommendations, I would actually highly recommend her Karaoke Cover of Unravel from Tokyo Ghoul by TK from Ling Toshite Sigure. Dunno if you do reactions to Karaoke, but this song really shows how great her vocal ranges are.

Ina is another English speaker, and yet this is entirely in Japanese, but she is fluent in speaking it too. Ina is primarily known as an artist (drawing) but it turns out her soft, calm voice translates to her singing well. She is part of Hololive English Myth alongside Calli and Gura. Another one known for her singing in Myth is Takanashi Kiara. For her I recommend her song 'DO U'. The final member of Myth is Amelia Watson but honestly, she's not a professional level singer, it's not her forte, but I strongly recommend the Myth group song - Non Fiction, that includes her.
As for other songs in Hololive, I recommend ALiCE&u (Ayunda Risu), Ai No chiisana Uta (Moona Hoshinova), Here Comes Hope (IRyS), My Song (Tsunomaki Watame), Palette (Tokoyami Towa) & Stellar Stellar (Hoshimachi Suisei).

Ina is my absolute favorite Vtuber (AKA my Oshi). I still remember watching her first karaoke stream back in 2020, she wasn't very confident in her singing and warned us that it might be bad, then proceeded to blow us away with her beautiful voice.
While "Violet" is her only original song she has some covers of other songs where she sings either by herself ("nai nai", "Tabi no tochuu) or duets with other Holomembers ("Iya iya iya" with Takahashi Kiara, "Futariboshi" with Tsukumo Sana).
Sadly right now she's on an indefinite break for health reasons. I hope she gets better soon.

  • @Davkas

Ina is so chill and comfy, even in her streams. Super nice, super comfy voice, she's just so good. This is one of those songs you play when you've had a rough day and it instantly makes you feel better.
So, Hololive Productions is a Vtuber talent agency that does regular auditions. As others have said, for the most part, most of the Hololive members were content creators prior to joining Hololive (a few of them were scouted rather than auditioned). Ina was mostly doing art before joining (which she very much still does, she's an incredible artist). When you join Hololive, you gain access to a lot of resources in terms of making music and content creation, as it is the goal of Hololive Productions to help this talents grow this individual brands within the HoloPro umbrella, so when you start they can pair you with composers, mixers, lyric writers, artists, etc. to help you make your first songs, and after a while you're able to eventually find (and pay for) those resources on your own name alone. Lots of good stuff!
Great reaction as always! As I've said before, you've GOT to check out Stellar Stellar by Suisei!

hololive is first and foremost a company that hires entertainers. people who can stream and keep engaging their audience.. musically gifted is not a requirement because singing is a skill you train to master, not born gifted. Ina is an artist, not a singer when she joined hololive. but she's been really practicing her singing a lot.

  • @SKy_the_Thunder
    @SKy_the_Thunder ปีที่แล้ว +6

First and foremost, Ina is a professional illustrator. That was the majority of her career before she joined Hololive and has been a huge focus of her channel (though over this year life has been hard on her, causing art blocks and currently a longer hiatus to recover). Beyond all the illustrations for all her solo songs/covers she also did the official announcement artwork for her generation (Hololive EN "Myth") designed most of their mascots, created several official illustrations for any corners of Hololive - from background artwork over emotes to prime marketing images or merch motifs - as well as dozens of fanarts of other members and other characters, and hundreds of doodles...
Her soft voice and calm and relaxing yet bubbly personality result in "comfy" being the only word to accurately describe her. Which is ironic yet eerily fitting considering her lore has her as the priestess (and warden) of "The Ancient Ones" - a non-descript eldritch horror banned into the book she carries. Her goal is "world domINAtion, slowly", though if that means being as comfy as during her streams, maybe that's a goal worth supporting? "Come to the dark side, we have cookies". Literally.
As far as I'm aware Ina hasn't had any extensive experience singing before Hololive, though she learned a few instruments when she was younger. But styling itself as a virtual idol agency, Hololive strongly encourages its members to sing, giving us some great vocal talents, even if they themselves didn't expect it initially. Violet was her first solo song Ina released and it draws a lot from both her lore (with _many_ hidden messages as expected of someone touched by the eldritch) and her real past (losing contact to a dear friend as a child). Her vocals are usually soothing and her choice of songs reflects that - though she can also veer into the eerie if she wants...
A recent release that features Ina as the central voice, but also shows off some of the other talents across Hololive's English and Indonesia branches is "Bad ∞ End ∞ Night" on the channel of Axel Syrios.

  • @Helmir
    @Helmir ปีที่แล้ว +10

One of the best things about it is it's also her art! Her Tabi no Tochuu cover is also wonderful. The MV parts of songs are actually by far the most time intensive part of the project, so whenever you see that someone did that aspect it probably balloons their individual time investment.
Would love if you'd check out Watame's "My Song" she's sung songs will Calli before. I think she was planning to do something with Ina as well, but consider Ina's current health break that might have gotten shelved indefinitely. Either way, the sheep is absolutely fantastic and it's a great song about her history with music. Very heavy and amazingly animated.

Ina is truly the comfiest of the EN talents (including fauna who while soft spoken has an edge to her).
Most of the talents were recruited from applications a lot of them have prior experience, loads of them were huge within a niche audience.
Hololive managed to find an otherwise latent/un-tapped talent pool give them an advertising support/platform/avatar, gets them to stream/create/collab/chat around mostly their own schedules and additional projects from what i can tell are helped by the company for sourcing, contacts, permissions and basic stuff but the talents fund a lot of the non-event items themselves.
Basically the talents may have unrefined edges in some fields but they have the business/corporate relationships plus the experiences of other talents from industry professionals to come out with as many a polished project as they have the time/energy/inclination/talent to follow through on. I don't know who is running QC for the out[put within the parent company but they seem to be landing every shot into one area of demand or another even where a talent may only be making their first tentative steps into a field they would not have otherwise tried outside of a members only stream)
We also know that several of them also have side-gigs (known to their employer or who are willfully playing coy) for the sake of not being on a stream with thousands of viewers instantly (and that's the guerilla streams).
i also suspect some "please volunteer for this opportunity" items are raised in their discussion boards, cross-talent projects and a whole host of other "each success/relationship raises the others prospects" business relationships are also going on. Damned thing is a monster of a growing media front to the extent even a lot of business (and privacy minded) "e-girls" started dropping the webcams and putting motion tracker software in it's place to see greater success with far less direct creep-behavior as an additional benefit.

Seriously, I've never seen so many comments posted in under an hour for a Reaction video! Takodachis are out in full force!
I didn't see it posted anywhere, but Ina is one of the biggest targets of memes in the Vtuber world. Many Twitch streamers use her playing the recorder as a sound byte. Her back flashing on screen for a FRACTION of a second became a meme that trended and created thousands of fanart. Her karaoke singing "Unravel" became one of the biggest clips (and also used by streamers). Her forehead became a thing of it's own.
Anyways, her demeanor underlies a genius level brain. We miss her dearly, and look forward to her coming back to bonk us!
I Recommend KIICHAN's "Kimi Ga Umareta Hi", or her multilingual version of "Snow Halation". She's an independent Filipina Vtuber, so no budget for glossy animations, but she is extremely talented.

hololive works like an idol agency they kinda have roles to fill so they have auditions for different characters/models so they already have those ready and need those filled like marine being lewd and lots of humor as an example so they check for that etc then if you get through the audience you debut as said character and we all know idols need to be able to dance sing for the most part already to a certain degree to make it

    • @TheCardinalbiggles
      @TheCardinalbiggles ปีที่แล้ว

That’s not entirely accurate. Hololive has character models and general ideas for Backstory, but personality and where that backstory is developed into is entirely up to the talents. Marine isn’t “horny” because it’s her assigned character, Marine is “horny” because that’s part of the person behind Marine, and what she finds funny or entertaining.
It varies by talent - Pekora and Luna started out with vocal tics to help them “stay in character” - but most of the talents are just as genuine as regular streamers, with a thin veneer of a character as a safety net.

  • @nestharus
    @nestharus ปีที่แล้ว +24

Almost everyone auditioned for a particular character of a particular generation in hololive. You audition for a role. Only gen 0 were independent vtubers that were brought in. Hololive also sometimes starts music projects where they specifically look for talent to be brought in as primarily artists. Project Hope, Project something or other, and then the first one that was unnamed I think? Suisei, AZki, and Irys are the three musical talents. Sora is kind of a hybrid since she was the very first member of hololive and was brought in as a general idol. Suisei and AZki later moved to be a regular members. AZki's music project (in collaboration with another company) was shut down so she was brought in as a standard member. Irys' music project is from hololive itself so she will always be in her own generation as Project Hope. AZki, Irys, and Sora regularly hang out as the "idols" of hololive and all 3 are top 10 singers of the entire group :). Irys is currently ranked as hololive's best singer :3. Suisei's a top 10 singer too of course :).
Pretty much every member of hololive had a past life. Hololive regularly looks for people that can handle large audiences so many of them have had audiences on the net before hololive. Some of them were independent vtubers. Some of them were youtubers or on other platforms. Some of them were musicians. Some of them were part of other agencies and left to join hololive or were from disbanded agencies. Needless to say pretty much everyone had proven their talent in something, be it music, gaming, entertaining, before joining hololive :). Holo Myth, Hololive English Gen 1, is the most talented of all hololive generations and is probably the most legendary generation. It caused a massive explosion in the vtubing scene. Its members are Gura, Calli, Ina, Ame, and Kiara. Of them Gura is currently the most famous vtuber in the world. The reason why Hololive Myth is so talented and legendary is because it is the first hololive generation that auditioned across the world for English-speaking audiences. It drew from the largest talent pool possible. It is unlikely that there will ever be a vtuber group as legendary as Hololive Myth. At its start some of its members felt overwhelmed by the crushing expectations due to how much talent was in hololive myth.
Hololive is known much more for its general entertainment (variety streams and gaming) than for its music.
Also Ame does not sing but is practicing :3.
Kiara does pop and emphasizes dancing. She speaks German (first language), English, Japanese.. and I think a fourth language that I can't recall ;D.
Ame (short for Amelia) does .. memes? She speaks English.
Also Calli is definitely a professional artist both inside and outside of hololive. She has a contract with a record label. She has done live concerts in Japan and America. Some of the songs she's done in hololive have topped the charts in the U.S. and Japan (rank 1). To my knowledge no other member has a record deal or does concerts outside of the context of hololive. You might want to check out Red from Calli. It's the song that topped the charts :).
Also Calli has been promoted from "dad" to "uncle dad" (thank you Kobo).

I dont really watch ame a lot but she is the one that organize everything behind scenes, she was the one behind all of the 3D specials, she is also some sort of tech support for the rest of myth since its easier to talk than the managers sometimes, and she is good with tech.
So as much as she doesnt shine with "talent" as the rest, holomyth wouldnt be the same without her. I'm saying this to add to the things you say no as trying to say you are wrong or something.

Also, the way you talk about auditioning sounds like they already know which Avatar they are auditioning for, which is not the case. They are auditioning for the chance to join a specific generation, not a specific avatar/role. It's not quite the same as a specific role like you might see posted for acting/voice work.

The most common word associated with Ina is "comfy". Her streams and music are like a warm blanket. There are other members with similarly soft voices such as Ceres Fauna (EN Gen 2 Council) and Nekomata Okayu (JP Gen 2.5 Gamers), but they have moments where they peak into high energy. Ina is consistently gentle.
Ina is more of an artist than a singer (most of Hololive English's official promotional art is her work), but as you've just experienced, her music is nothing to scoff at either.

  • @caretakerITA
    @caretakerITA ปีที่แล้ว +5

    More or less you're right.
Hololive does auditions (now they have a permanent one, btw), but you need a lot of talent to be taken in nowdays. Like A LOT.
They take a share of the superchats/revenue in exchange for tech and management support, but usually are the talent themselves to pay for the music and video, with some exceptions (like the big concerts Hololive does two/three times at years, or special events like the birthdays concerts of Suisei, and alike).
To why the talents were taken or apply, there's a large variety of reasons: some wanted an outlet for their musical skills and wish to become singer/idols, some were there at the right time in the start and already with links with the then-Hololive, some wanted simply an extra job because they were in a dire situation, some were at wits end after being isolated in Japan and basically without a job, some were pushed in by a dear friend that was joining, some started doing vtubing to avoid working in a bad work enviroment, some started to find a way to overcome a tragic death in their life.
And yeah, who knows, can stick a name on all of that situations.
Second, some of them ARE true singers and they feel sometime disrespected in labelled as "just a vtuber". Suisei has wrote an entire song about that (Ghost).
And lastly, if you want to have your mind blow, anything from the live concerts of Suisei, Ayunda Risu or Kanata.

In the beginning, when vtubers weren't a big thing, Hololive mostly recruited japanese television personalities to fill the roles of their vtuber characters. Nowadays, they hold castings and let people apply for new vtuber roles. Hololive English in particular consists mostly of former youtubers, twitch streamers, musicians and so on. It's usually an open secret who these people were or still are, but some of them were literal internet legends before they became vtubers.

To answer your question about how Hololive works: Hololive is a Talent Agency who got its start as a tech company. They promote and manage the members. They periodically hold auditions for new members, and debut them in groups, most commonly known as Generations. The company provides them with a model and the tech to get started Streaming, and receives a cut of their earnings. The Talents bring a particular skill or skills to the table. In many cases, especially the newer members, had already achieved some level of success independently, and used Hololives platform to springboard their success. For example, Calli was an underground rapper in Japan before Hololive, and now she's signed to Universal music. Don't get me wrong, she's an AMAZING artist, but the exposure she got from Hololive was exactly what she was missing to become huge.

Ina does specialize in illustrations. In my opinion how i see hololive is a company that the talents audition or recruited/ scouted to the company and they (vtuber) bring in their talent/skill and see what they want achieve or their ambitions. Cover just up their level as high as they can. Holomyth grew big as in calli being a music artist made it to the big leagues. Gura becoming super popular as a streamer, a great music artist, fans just love this atlantian shark. Kiara is doing very well in her idol route and coming up with fun streams and banging songs and i think most likely the dancer with good level of choreography of the group. Amelia "i'll do it myself" watson just make things happen. Myth group want 3d models? Bam vr version of the group in "normal" and chibi flavor. Needs assistance in video and sound? Bam done. I want to say she is the true leader of the group that works a lot in the background. Ina the groups illustrator, she draws and ever honing and grinding her skill and showing off what she learn to the viewers and results of her work. This EN group is just amazing and made many accomplishments. Being a part of a record label, sponsorships, breaking records, hitting milestones, breaking the mold, fueling the art boon, encouraging viewers in hard times. They weren't the first EN group but they played the part of "hey its pretty fun to be a vtuber come try it out".

In general, people with experience in content creation will fill out applications to get into Hololive, and the company releases groups called Generations of (usually) 5 vtubers at a time. The company is responsible for giving creators their vtuber avatars, as well as managing certain details regarding their content. As a result, in almost all cases, the vtuber character and model is created when they join Hololive, and disappears if/when they leave. The only exception to this historically is Hoshimachi Suisei. She was initially an independent vtuber (made her own model by hand, rigged it, etc.), but in 2019-ish she was added to the Hololive roster on special circumstances. It's a very interesting story and there are many videos that can cover that better than me.
Hololive has Japanese, English, and Indonesian branches, with each branch usually getting around 1 new generation per year, although that is not a hard rule. Currently, they also have male branches in Japanese and English. Not every Hololive vtuber is a musician, but many are or end up moving towards that. For example, Ninomae Ina'nis is primarily an artist, who didn't have a background in music creation. This is in contrast to say, Mori Calliope, who dropped a few music tracks around the same time she initially joined the company. However, Ina'nis ended up making this song, despite that. Others have mentioned this, but she drew every single illustration in this video herself. You can see that at the beginning when she is listed for both Illustrations & Vocals. There are relatively few Hololive vtubers who have zero original songs or covers (actually, none if my memory serves me.) I don't believe there's much public information about how the company deals with songs and covers, but I do know that, in a stream, Hakos Baelz (another Hololive English Vtuber) mentioned that she commissioned Camellia (Japanese composer) to compose her original song "Play Dice" out of pocket (others might correct me on this, it's been a while).
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk
PS: It's pronounced Knee-Know-Mah-Ay Ee-Nah-Niss. Most just call her Ina (Ee-nuh)

Hololive is an idol agency (for a good part) but they bring talented people, give them a model and a back story (besides gen 0, but thats for a deeper dive), and they do streams, art (for the illustrators, like Ina, who also did all the art for her song, and also animated one of her cover's MV)
Some of them are fantastic singers (and overtime they improve usually even when they are not singing focused), some are good dancers, some do asmr and some are cracked ad gaming!
They still can go and do their thing even when they are under Cover Corp (Hololive is a branch of Cover corp.), And, even then its easy to find out their other lives or work, its usually not said in public or spread around, out of respect.
So, if you care to know, sure, some people will tell you on private, or if you dig around you may discover them in other skins
Thank you for the coverage on the rabbit hole, and be very welcome!

Calli for instance had no experience streaming and wasn't a Vtuber to start. But she had quite the resume to get her in. My understanding is that Cover Corp/Hololive do not actually provide much in the way of resources for the talents making music. It’s more works in that being in Hololive attracts producers to them. For Calli, for instance, for her first EP, she largely self produced it with only one song being the work of a producer who she knew from her pre-Hololive career. After blowing up, she quickly found more and more big producers who wanted to work with her. Of course, since UMG picked her up, they now do supply her with connections even beyond that.
The Hololive talents actually have to invest themselves into getting the music out there, including getting the videos made. Cover has no real expectations that they put out music, which is why some don’t put out a lot. The fans love the music side of Hololive though, and Cover does expect their talents to perform in yearly live concerts (Holo Fes) so most of them do pursue it to some extent. But it’s up to them to decide how to approach it. The exception being AZKi and IRyS, the designated vsingers of Hololive, whom clearly do get more support from the company in terms of resources and connections.
As for Ina, she does not come from a music background at all (her background as a pro illustrator is more what secured her spot in Hololive). If I recall, she started off in Hololive embarrassed to even sing while her parents were home. Fans responded well to her singing voice on her karaoke streams though, and in time she put out this song and a number of excellent covers to follow it.

If you ever want to do a rapid-fire hololive video, you could listen to the KING covers by the hololive talents there are like 20 of those including Suisei, Gura and Calli (which you listened to), Ayame, Ame (which is kind of a joke version), and many many others.

Ina is the priestess of comfiness. An absolute sweet cinnamon roll, that is BEYOND talented.
Insane artist that has hand-drawn entire album covers and MVs by herself. Great singer. Great gamer. Ruthless pun dropper. And apparently likes sleeping on the floor.
Her and Kiara's duo cover of "Whatever Whatever Whatever" is way too fun and relatable.

Some of them weren't Vtubers before joining (roughly put they become the character they audition for) they start over with a whole different online ID... some were artists, some were aspiring idols, some were streamers, there's even a lady that just liked to play games and a girl that tried to join because she saw it as an opportunity to help pay bills... there's really a variety of backgrounds for these people.
But even with the varying backgrounds (that they've now left behind), we can't deny the talent they bring in and developed to succeed.

Aki Rozenthal's Shallys gotta be one of the more interesting ones from Hololive. It's sung in Aki's elven language. It's a really beautiful song too. One of the older songs in hololive tho.

This is going to be a real wall of text so I'm going to just open with something that the CEO Yagoo basically said before in regards to Hololive: 'Hololive was created to give voiceless girls a voice.' It doesn't matter who you are, what you look like, your age, etc. They will give you a virtual avatar if they think you have the passion, talent and creativity for the job that they're looking for.
Generally when they're hiring a new generation they have an idea of what kind of "type" of person they're trying to find to match a vtuber they're going to release... like trying to find the right soul for a body to an extent as far as personality goes. That being said there are exceptions where they'll make avatars specifically for an applicant/recruit, but they're a rarer case. Beyond that they basically expect people to have some history in streaming/content creation and they have a big priority on people that have a drive to do this kind of work. They take streamers, singers, artists, etc. Basically if you have some sort of passion or exemplary talent they'll be interested in you. HOWEVER they are also willing to take people that have the drive to grow if they think that you'd be a good fit for what they're looking for. My oshi in particular (Watame) got into Hololive because she impressed them with her hardwork, warm personality and determination to grow into a better singer despite the fact that there were better singers that also applied. Like her, if you can show you've got the passion, they're interested. It's really important that they have it since talents can get a lot of hurtful comments, it can be physically demanding if they perform a lot or stream for long hours with a particular voice, and frankly it's a job you can't really put down since in the end it's you. Best thing you can do is show them you're not going to give up.
When it comes to music, Hololive has an Idol slant - especially on the JP side. That means there is at least a bit of an emphasis on singing, but nobody is particularly forced into doing it and some Hololive talents obviously end up with a whole lot more music than others because of this. Some Holos may only have 1-2 original songs and a few cover songs. Some may have multiple albums of original music. It really depends what they want to do with their content. Following this, you can see that most of the music of talent driven. If they want songs they have to be the ones pushing for and (mostly) being the ones paying for them though they do get more monetary assistance on it these days. In general though Cover is really good at helping facilitate connections for them. It'd be really tough to get a lot of these music producers/composers to sit down with random indies, so being in the company is a massive boon for greasing those wheels. Also frankly being in Hololive is just a massive boost for visibility in general.
There is a crazy amount of passion and talent here and a lot of them will still continue to grow and create for a long time. I shoveled the recommendation off in another comment, but wanted to do a longer one on the topic. I gotta recommend Watame's My Song once again. Out of everyone in Hololive her history with music, her kindness, gratitude and passion for doing what she's doing hit me the hardest. I think you'll see what I mean when you see the lyrics on that song and consider how it's her history over several years after coming to Tokyo to chase her dreams in music. Even then as heavy as the song is, it's really just a slice of what she's gone through and people that have followed her for a while really feel that extra weight.
Thanks again for checking out all the Hologirls though. They work really hard and like I said it's a tough job in a tough industry. I'm sure they appreciate other creators giving their content a look.

A running joke within the Hololive community is that Yagoo's (Tanigo Motoaki, Cover Corp. CEO) dream is for Hololive to become like AKB48, an idol group (I would recommend listening to their songs too like Heavy Rotation). They do become idols with their music and live performances but whenever they stream they act like comedians and every time they act unseiso (unpure?), Yagoo's dream dies. He wants AKB48 and he got AK47 xD

one big thing to note is that while for some of the hololive characters its not too hard to find out who they were before they were their now current persona its frowned upon to try to talk about it/dig it up as they are supposed to keep them seperate.(even though youtube can make it easy for a few of them as they currently are either active on both or semi active.)
as for a recommendation i will keep pushing for alice&u by ayunda risu from hololive id its an amazing song. suisei also happened to release a new song which turned out amazing as well.
while not strictly a 1song recommendation if you would like to hear a medley of many hololive/holostars original songs kurenji ollie did a 36 song medly for her 1m celebration where she sang every song herself and even dressed up her 2d avatar as each singer. granted this is usually better recieved by someone who has heard at least most of the songs at the rate your going it will be much longer then 2 years to hit that point. it is a nice way to find some songs you might wanna aim and look into more full versions of as well.

When a new talent joins Hololive, what they did in the past is expected to be kept in the past to some extent.
Basically, they start to stream under new usernames and vtuber models when they join Hololive.
It’s not that it’s impossible to find the past activity of Hololive members.
In fact, it’s extremely easy to find, since they usually don’t try to hide it.
So long as one keeps discussion about it civil, and so long as you don’t mention the past of the members on official Hololive forums (such as the subreddit, content sections, and live chats), it’s not even that frowned upon, so long as you don’t go looking for or discussing personal information.
In fact, the ease of finding the past channels of Hololive members is an asset to the talents, because it means that they have a backup plan for if they stop working for Cover corp, and need a channel to fall back to.
The fans will basically know which channel to flock to.
A notable instance of this is with Kiryu Coco going back to streaming on her personal channel under the name Kson after graduating from Hololive, which is a story the whole vtuber industry knows by now.

Ina is amazing, she used to have very little confidence in her singing, even going as far as bribing her parents to leave the house when she was planning to do karaoke streams, so it's great to see her skills now! If you wanna listen to more of her personally I'd recommend her cover of Nai Nai or the bad end night cover where she had the main role along a bunch of hololive members. Also not sure if you've seen it somewhere on twitch since I saw a lot of people recommend it, but give holomyth bad end animation a try, it's honestly super impressive and has some nice sound effects imo.

Ina was indeed an artist before getting into Hololive...
...But not a MUSICAL Artist XD.
Did you notice taht in the credits it didn't simply said "Vocals: Ninomae Ina'nis", but "Illustrations & Vocals: Ninomae Ina'nis"?
Ina is an illustrator, and a VERY powerful one. Her singing skills are something she polished after getting into Hololive.
When Hololive gets to bring new talents, them knowing how to sing, dance, etc, is good for their chances of getting chosen, but i'ts not a REQUERIMENT, since they'll get their talents classes to learn all of that.
Members that couldn't sing nor dance without killing the spectators in the process now do it at a really high level.
You can expect all Hololive artists to keep getting better and better over time.
...Also, about the Lore of Ina's character if you are curious. She's a Priestess fo the Ancient Ones, basically a c*lt leader but with lots of tentacles involved, and streams to perform sanity checks on humanity XD.

How it works is this. Hololive acts similar to a talent agency. It's has year round auditions. If you have a background in entertainment/content creation you can apply (you can be a singer, vtuber, voice actor, model, streamer, TH-cam reactor, whatever). Once you are accepted you are assigned a manager/agent, a character with a model made by a prominent anime/manga/video game artist, and enrolled in singing lessons, dance classes, and optional voice acting classes. As for what being a vtuber entails as a job, You are a professional streamer and professional singer/idol(so you are pursuing 2 different careers at the same time).
For original songs they pay up to a point, but overages and mvs are on you, and cover songs are all on you as well(now there are some artists like calli and sora who have contracts with big music labels and they pay for everything for them), the staff that works on the song with you is something worked out between you (really your manager) and the people you want to work with.
And the money you make is split between you and cover corporation (the company behind hololive).

From what I heard from other Hololive Vtubers. Other than certain group songs made for hololive as a group, the Talents more or less paid everything for their original songs. Hence, most Hololive vtubers usually have maybe just one or two originals. With the exception of the really popular ones like Marine. Double the exception for Calli as she actually does most of the production herself from composing, writing lyrics, creating the MV, sound mixing and of course the singing. Thats how Calli is able to dish out song after song after song without worrying much about the cost. Tho Calli herself is a workaholic, and a lot of fans are usually worried she might overexert at times.

While I wouldn't call it Signing a Record Label, it is more like Actors on a TV Show. The Companies (Hololive, Nijisanji, etc.) are like TV Studios, they search for Talents, they help set them up for their own TV Show (Channels, Models, how they should act, etc.) , and then they Advertise them for people to get their names out there.
Many of the Vtubers were indie creators, and artists with varying degrees of success looking for their big break, and these Companies help them get their talents out their.

Ina is one of the more comfy/pure talents. The thing is when you watch them more you see how they interact with each other then you get a sense of what they’re like. They’re all unique and have quirks and gimmicks that make them more memorable.
Recommendation: Holomyth vs Ina Bad ending. It’s a fan made animation that gives a little bit of lore of what their characters are suppose to be like. It’s pretty well made for only having like 4 people make it.
