Thanks for watching! This video took a lot of effort to film (carrying the 2.5kg of filming gear for 450km...) and to edit (it's long and I've done my best.) Please let me know in the comments which things could have been left out (uninteresting, boring...) and if you like the style of filming, or you would like more narration, or less narration, or more drone video, or less storytelling... Feedback is much appreciated!
The ripping of the bark is against regulatins for Allemansrätten and The Nature reserves. You have been informed in comments below and it is time to learn and adjust. Please remove that part of your video since it spreads incorrect information to coming visitors and tourists.
Dear Nico, I love this video so much! It makes me very, very happy for some reason, it's exactly my vibe 💜 Keep doing what you're doing and I hope to see you soon for some beer or "es paa Pio"! 🤭
great video, thanks for taking the extra time of filming this for our entertainment, very inspiring. Great music too could you link to the playlist used in this? Grazie
What an amazing video Niko. Thanks for taking us with on your journey through that beautiful nature. Hope you will visit Sweden again and maybe try the St Olovs pilgrim trail that starts in eastern Sweden and finish in Norway. Its beautiful and I only did the last half of it :)
I learned swedish, I love Sweden and I've been several times already. So yeah, I'll be back and I've taken a note of the St Olovs trail! Tack så jättemycket!
Expertly made, keep it up. Keeps my motivation high to permanently move to Sweden 🙂 I loved the shot at the end with the people you met. Live is all about the journey, never the destination.
Thank you for the lovely comment! Yes, and even if I forget names or faces, hiking 20 days without seeing a human wouldn't have had such an impact on me as it did crossing paths with familiar faces! :)
Exceptional video, bravo. Think our paths crossed briefly, shared a boat & bus maybe to Vakkotavare? I recognise the folks at the end montage. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Happy trails.
You did a great job making this video and I really love it all.Thank you for sharing this wonderful video from Kungsleden.I put the bell on and hope to see more from your Channel.ATB:Søren😀😀😀
Just watched the whole film and I’m super impressed! It is great and gives such an authentic impression. Props to you for the hike and the movie. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Nico, What a video! Love your style of narration, more show than tell. Very calming video and the calm and silence is what is so captivating about the hike. Gratefull for the cameo’s haha
Dankje well Matthijs! I'm glad I had footage of you to put you in the Cameo! Thanks to @yvette of course. And I'm happy the video conveyed a representation of the hike and you enjoyed it
Love how this video turned out. Despite how many pains we go through on a thru hike, seeing it all laid out like this makes me remember why I love doing it. Great meeting you on trail Nico. X
I'm so happy to hear from You, Sam! It's indeed how you say, it's hard work but extremely rewarding afterwards. It was a pleasure meeting you several times on the trail, take care!
This piece of art is fantastic and views well views are just EPIC! I have been planning this trail for a long time, Abisko and Sarek more precisely. Great job and I know a lot of work went into this!
Hey Nico, that was a great video. You really captured the beauty and awe in those drone shots. Really enjoyed it. Was nice to see a lot of the people we met along the trail again, even though it was only in a video. I also got the post trail blues at the end and then for some time after :P. Hope you are well and keep up the good work. Andrew
Hey Andrew! Thank you for watching it, and for the lovely comment. I'm glad you liked it, and I'm glad we got to meet on our last evening, it was a very special fire with all of you! I'm well and I hope you as well! Back in England digging ditches? Also, impressive guitar skills! Nico
Really nice video Nico, well done! So nice to see everyone again. I love how you visualised all the senses, of walking in wet mud, the cold, the water, etc. I know you've put a lot of effort in it during the hike. Also great how you can keep the viewer's attention, it's a nice pace of editing. We watched it with our friends tonight, it's really good 😊
Thaaaaanks!! Really! If it didn’t feel boring or too long, I’m happy - that’s all I wanted from such a long video. It's always a gamble between long and boring, or short and skipping parts -- I hope I struck a balance. :)
Beautiful video! I saw someone with a dog in your video; do you know if he had reindeer problems or other problems along the way; I would like to do it too with my dog in a tent and I'm looking for information. Thank you!
Im going next summer. Been trying to figure out what time to go.. either early summer or late summer. but it seems like you did not have any problems with mosquitos? and please give me the exact dates if possible. As someone who also film and takes photos i have to say you did an amazing job man and maybe next year you see my video on here. Thanks for sharing your journey.
hello Rick! You are correct, I tried to catch the narrow window between mosquitoes and cold. My hike was 26th of August until 12th of September. Send me the video next year, I always read comments and would love to watch it!
Hey Diego! Qué bueno oír de ti! Me alegro que te haya gustado, la verdad es que ha sido mucho más trabajo que otros vídeos, especialmente porque comprimir 3 semanas en 30 minutos es difícil. Gracias :)
Hello Nico! This is a fantastic video. I learnt of your channel from seeing Aaron Jack's video on the Kungsleden. I planned to go to a week to Abisko and make day trips, but I'm really thinking about doing the Kungsleden. I am worried because I never camped like this, I have only done long day hikes. How did you prepare for the trip? By the way, I didn't know you can see the Aurora Borealis in September! I saw it once in Reykjavik in last December. And sorry for all the questions, but how did you keep your camera safe from water? I want to take my camera too. Thanks a lot Ron
@@NicoKupfer You're not suppose to break branches from trees like that. Living or dead. From the ground, yes. On trees, no. Please respect the rules of the area/country you visit.
That is one of the best videos I have seen of this hike, really good. Initially I was wondering about narration but I think you have got a really good balance between your obvious skill with a camera and with a drone and your words. It's atmospheric and very watchable. Also very impressed (and quit jealous) with your small pack size! The only negative is the branch and bark, not the correct thing to do in either case.
I appreciate your comment about the camera skills, but I have done sooo many mistakes (many which you can't see because I had to delete the shots). We live and we learn, but still, thank you very much! I didn't bring many clothes (only merino thermals, and what I wear, plus two extra pairs of socks.) The pack was maybe 6kg, however add food (8-9kg) and filming equipment (which you don't see in any shot) and it's about 12kg... I don't know if my next long hike will also be filmed, those 2-3kg of base weight are really felt on the shoulders.... About the branch... thanks, I've been told several times, it was a stupid thing to do.
Thanks for watching Theo! I hope you were happy to see yourself in the video (and how reality might slightly differ) I'll be coming back to Sweden next year for visits, so I really hope I will see you again :) Ta hand om dig!

Pretty video, but please do not rip bark off a living tree. That leaves the tree in a horrible condition, often killing them. It's illegal and inconsiderate. Do not go to another country to ruin the local nature.
@@NicoKupfer Thank you for your response. That is an utter misconception. They do not, not to that extent. I'm not sure you're grasping the severity of what you did there. It hit my heart with pain seeing you ripping the bark from the birch and breaking branches from living trees. This is why kungsleden might be just as you self say….the last wilderness….so please dont’t
Hi Karin, birch trees are the main source of food in winter for many animals. I can understand that watching a video might give you the impression of my lack of respect for nature, but I know this does not hurt the tree. in return, birches get the nitrates produced by the animals that feed on it. read more here if you are interested www.google.ch/search?q=which+animal+eat+birch+bark+in+winter I will inform myself better for the next hike, I don’t want to offend anyone by posting these videos; on the contrary, I want people to enjoy them
Please do, follow the regulations for the nature reserves and the ”allemansrätten”.
